  1. That's ok :) The Vat refund counters all have a machine on the front that requires you to 'tap' one of the faces on them depending on how satisfied you were with your service. It's hard not to tap the smiley happy face when someone has just given you a load of dosh for nothing!! KM

  3. same same me in the UK but I watched it last night. Had to laugh at the girl at the information desk who hardly moved from her chair and played on her phone pulling faces at the punters with problems - then thought she was in the running for the customer Service award!! KM
  4. Captain Jack, the Immigration officer who said he likes to smile at the tourists. I've NEVER seen an immigration officer smile!! Then they show a shot of him sat there with no queues and empty chairs in front of him. What happened to the huge snake of a queue that is normally there? Still, compulsive viewing! KM
  5. I'm not out again until May, Martin, but if you're still struggling then, give me a shout. I'm just wondering if it's the mints or the tins you want........................................ http://www.artofmanliness.com/2011/01/30/22-manly-ways-to-reuse-an-altoids-tin/ KM
  6. I can't comment on flight costs with other airlines, but last year I started tracking Thai Airways flight costs from Heathrow - BKK. Between July and September for a flight in November the cost of their cheapest seat rose from 605.00 - 614.00. Currently for a flight in May it's 609.00. The most expensive last year rose from 1040.00 to 1054.00. This year it is currently 1049.00. KM
  7. I've used the exchange booths regularly over the past month and never been asked for ID, even if they have a sign up saying it was required. KM
  8. Bouqetta I believe you live in Naklua? If you know where Anton's restaurant is, turn up the road running along side it - Soi 27 or Soi Roylang. About 200 metres up on the right is a couple of new-ish bars under a hotel. If you go in the first one (which has a blue pool table at the back but clearly visible from the road) they have lots of shisha pipes in there. Even if you don't see anyone smoking them, just ask as they have loads in the back. It's a pleasant bar, too, very friendly. Hope that helps KM
  9. I only brought them out as I thought you wouldn't be returning to the UK for a while. If I had known you were returning within such a short time I wouldn't have bothered. Still, Jacko, appreciated his teabags!! KM
  10. Billions i've got your styptic pencils. When do you want to meet up to collect them? KM
  11. and Tea bags for Jacko!!
  12. Picked up 2 this afternoon from Superdrug. I land on Sunday but go to Chiang Mai on Tuesday for the rest of the week, so we'll arrange to hook up after that - as long as you don't bleed to death in the meantime!! KM
  13. If you can't find one out there, I'm coming out at the weekend and I'll bring one out for you. KM
  14. Yes - it makes money disappear!! KM
  15. Be aware that those stuffed penguins in the ad are being sold by John Lewis at 95 pounds each!!! KM
  16. I'm out in 2 weeks, Jacko, would you like me to bring out some T-bags? KM
  17. are they going to phase it in gradually over a few days? That would be fun!!! KM
  18. If he won't reconnect it for you for free, then walk away and hire elsewhere, don't even think of hiring a lower spec bike from him at all. Why hire a bike where a specific 'benefit' of the bike is disconnected and then charging you full whack? He will lose more in lost trade and bad publicity (like here!) than the cost of replacing the battery earlier than expected. Seems a bonkers business decision. Where will it end? Disconnecting the headlight to save on bulbs????? KM
  19. PoolHustler - advertises regularly on here. I have a PCX 150 from him every trip and never had any issues with him or the bike. His 'idle stop' isn't disengaged. KM
  20. Why do you say it appears to be out of fashion? Km
  21. If you've never ridden one before, Thailand is not the place to learn!! KM
  22. Sorry Lanzalad, I should have explained myself better - my fault! I meant in regards to its functions, features and availability of channels. I have an Apple TV box but it doesn't appear to do all that your box does. Thanks KM
  23. Is this at all similar to the Apple TV box? KM
  24. Thanks for this, Rhino - you're virtually writing the itinerary for my trip in November!! KM

    NFL Shame

From the dictionary - "A thing designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage:" From the old favourite Wikipedia "A weapon, arm, or armament is any device used in order to inflict damage or harm to living beings, structures, or systems." "While just about any ordinary objects such as sticks, stones, cars, or pencils can be used as weapons, many are expressly designed for the purpose" Not plain stupid to me - or it would seem many others.
