  1. You sound like a 12 year old, playing naughty games and trying to belittle someone
  2. No, it's not exactly what I would have done, because I don't have the same issues with them as you do. KM
  3. Did you and Sam ever consider refusing to be searched by them because of their nationality or did you just button it because you didn't have the balls? KM
  4. For your second post, perhaps you could expand a bit so we know more about the problems you had? KM
  5. I don't. Once I know what date I'm flying, I keep checking the prices on their website until I see one I like, then book it. I keep the info on a spreadsheet for easy checking like for like details. Normally I check the cheapest, the most expensive economy (comparison only!) and business class. I can't afford business class as it normally comes in around 2,600 - 2,700, the highest economy just over 1,000 and I choose the one that gives me better airmiles but isn't the most expensive. Back in November they offered a special for business class at 1630. I was tempted, but not tempted enough!! The seats are almost lie flat, definitely better than economy, and the food was really good. If I could I would always travel in business, but until my lottery numbers come up I make the best of cattle class! Hope that helps. KM
  6. Last month Thai was offering Business class at 1633 quid return, so paying 700 quid for an upgrade plus your normal flight cost isn't always the cheapest way. KM
  7. I've deleted your other post, Patfan, so don't worry. KM

    or a cocktail stick!!
  9. The Dusit has a good gym and you don't have to be a resident to use it, just buy temporary membership for a period. KM
  10. Try Poolhustler on here. he buys and sells quite a few bikes, I believe. KM
  11. Don't!! You'll spoil it for the rest of us!! KM
  12. I had a good luck payout story regarding my car, although this was in the UK. A few years ago I bought a new (to me) car just a couple of weeks before coming to Patts for a month. I arranged to park the car at Purple Parking at Heathrow for the duration of the holiday. if you don't know about Purple Parking, your car is parked in a secure compound for the duration of the holiday and they bus you to and from the airport terminal at the start and end of your holiday. However, they have your car keys, details of your home address and when you will be returning, so a bit of trust needed. Anyway, with the new car I had changed insurance companies and whilst i was away they kept sending me letters requesting my 'no claims certificate' from my previous insurers. As I was not responding they eventually cancelled my insurance! This I was totally unaware of until my return from holiday, collected my car and drove home to a months worth of mail to delve through. I had arrived back on the Thursday, so all mail was checked on the Friday morning when the insurance problem was discovered. I immediately got on the phone and got my insurance re-instated and all was well............................ Except overnight Friday night/Saturday morning some bastard stole my car off my drive!!!!! It was quite a sporty car with all the toys - leather seats, six speed box, low profile alloys, etc etc, so well worth nicking, and had a decent alarm and immobiliser to match. I still had the keys so how did they get it??? (it is believed that whilst a Purple Parking someone cloned my key that turned off the immobiliser, waited for me to return from holiday and take it from their secure compound, then steal it at their leisure) Well, to cut a long story short, I expected a) the insurance company to delay or not pay out at all as it was stolen so soon after being insured and not paying out as much as it was worth. Fair play to them, they didn't quibble over the fact it was insured and the first cheque for 'contents' was with me within a couple of days. Then the dreaded phone call from the assessor!! He acknowledged that i had recently purchased the car and asked how much i paid for it, but I said I didn't want to say in case it compromised any offer for the car. His reply staggered me as he said that if I told him how much I paid, he would sign off the claim for the full amount, plus the excess on my policy and would send the payment that afternoon!! I thought wow! Job done! True to his word i had full payment within 2 days of the call and I was one happy bunny! I had read/heard of so many claims that are fought out over a contracted period delaying payment and only getting a low payout, that i was very pleased to get the full amount within a couple of weeks. 13. I found that forum post earlier, thanks Jacko, but he wasn't available for the period I was coming for. However I contacted Dancewatchers direct and they have come back to me with several different options at various prices and is looking very favourable at the moment. If anyone has stayed there could let me know what they thought of it, regarding noise, service, etc, it would be very much appreciated. Many thanks everyone KM PS - anymore comments like your last one, Jacko, and you will have your tea ration cut!! (it's the thought that counts!!)
  14. That would be ideal but unfortunately they are starting at 55,000baht for 22 nights according to Booking.com. I'm coming for the last week of January and first two weeks of February. I vaguely recall someone posting on here that they rented out a room there, but can't find it?
  15. I know roughly where it is and will have a bike anyway for getting around and about. I normally stay in Naklua so it's more central than that, although maybe a bit off the beaten track? It has just come up with another price today of 26,400 baht, so getting cheaper!! If anyone else can suggest something similar that is more central and also has a pool I would very much appreciate it. I know there are loads on Booking.com (other websites are available!), but I'd prefer personal recommendations if possible. Many thanks guys,it's very much appreciated. KM
  16. I'll be coming out in January for 3 weeks and someone pointed me toward this condo near Big C on Pattaya Klang. Its a new complex so only a few reviews. It looks pretty good and reasonably priced at 36,000 baht for the 3 weeks. Does anyone have any personal experience of it or of similar type accommodation in Central Pattaya? Many thanks KM
  17. Sorted!
  18. Just booked Heathrow - BKK for January/February for 477.75 quid with Thai Airways, 25% mileage accrual. If I wanted 100% mileage accrual it would have cost 814.75. Business class is on offer at 1635.15 On the seating plan it appears pretty full on the outward leg, but only about 50% on the return leg. KM
  19. It's not an apology
  20. Too soon after what? Looks like a dig, well, in the UK anyway, since you gave me a red for it?????
  21. What?????????????????????
  22. I'd heard that the only reason they have zebra crossings in Pattaya was so the ambulances knew where to pick the bodies up from! KM
  23. Yep - scroll down on the page and you'll find an ad on the right for Real Radio. Press the pause button on the ad, and hey presto, no music!! KM
