  1. tomx2 yep plenty of TV channels (English and Thai) - Sophon Cable. 800bt seems about what they used to charge me, but I got a small discount being a regular customer :)
  2. I have always stayed at the Baybreeze during my stays in Pattaya, except for first time I stayed at Diana Dragon in Soi Diana (yep cheap and nasty but all I needed) and recommened to me by a long time ex-pat whi has since passed away. Baybreeze is very guest friendly and the pool is not bad. 7/11,bars and ATM just 2 mins walk etc... Just out of interest anyone know what price are they quoting now, I haven't stayed in Pattaya for a little while?
  3. OK if all else fails try the C&N Hotel Patong, just on top of Bangla Rd, close enough to walk to beach and everything and seemed to be reasonable price when I stayed. They do have a website as well, but I forgotten it sorry. BTW it is guest friendly.
  4. Nice one wallyc, glad everything worked for you. I'm still a long way off till retirement (about 12 years) but your advice has been embedded in brain that to read boards and get all advice neccassry. Old saying "You can never have too much information." Anyway good on ya!
  5. With an avatar like that I would be a bit worried about sharing a ride with you.
  6. Try this email baybreeze30@hotmail.com I usually address it to Phayow - and no I don't know who it is.
  7. Hey Kev0184 today is Thursday, not tomorrow. Jeez must of been another quiet night hey Hope the back is recovering well.
  8. Try this link - seems to have a bit of 2nd hand stuff on it. http://www.bahtsold.com/ Just pick the east coast for Pattaya area.
  9. Just out of curiosity had a look on the site but could not see where they are located? Look decent enough though.
  10. Another post - looks like two out of four engines stuffed up. Frightful 35 mins for 280 TG 415 passengers Eunice Au and Jolene Foo Oxygen mask dangle in the cabin of the aircraft. Photo taken from Woo's handphone PETALING JAYA (Nov 8, 2007): About 280 Thai Airways' passengers were badly shaken when their Airbus took dives after two of its four jet engines were believed to have malfunctioned in mid-air on Tuesday (Nov 6). Flight TG 415 lifted off from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport for Kuala Lumpur at about 9.20am, with an almost full load comprising scores of Malaysians, when the engines went dead near Haadyai after an hour. The loss of 50% engine power sent the aircraft diving up and down like a yo-yo amid screaming passengers. It also triggered the air-conditioning system to shut down. Lucky for the passengers, the pilot managed to stabilise the aircraft after 35 minutes and sent out a S.O.S for an emergency landing on Haadyai International Airport. No injuries were reported.

    Air Asia

I recently flew Phuket to BKK on Air Asia and our bags were 4 kilos over total - yep they charged us excess baggage (even though the mrs is Thai - that didn't make any difference). Can't remember exactly how much it was about 400 bahts I think - memory bit slow that day must of been something I ate the night before
  12. Well at least when he dies he won't decompose too quickly as he will be well pickled.
  13. 3 days till phuket, then BKK, Chaiyaphum and Udon Thani. Alas no Pattaya this trip (first time in LOS not staying in Pattaya), but will definately be on the sight seeing list next trip.
  14. Yep and warm beer will get you pissed a lot quicker too.
  15. Yeah looks nice but where abouts in BKK are they located?
  16. Yep love my beer icy cold, but one thing I don't like is when they try to put the ice cubes in the beer
  17. Not in LOS I'm afraid, only in your home country maybe.
  18. What he doesn't drink on his day off Sure, sure
  19. "On my second visit, I had chicken satay and panang curry beef. With an iced tea, I think this cost about 420 baht" So you ate this all by yourself? Mmmm quite an appetite there zaph :)
  20. Slightly off topic but saw on the news last night (in Perth) that there was a big fire in Phuket. Anyone know whereabouts or how big it was?
  21. Now where else is a sewage pipe to run towards in Pattaya Nidoyham?? Come on you have been around long enough to realise they want to improve the quality of the water at the beach all the time.
  22. Looks like normal to me during wet season Pig & Wizzle. Good to see those new drains pipes are working well
  23. Hey Tengo, Didn't you do a review recently of metro or something and couldn't help but heap praise on the place. Now you want to move up the road. Sounds like you talk with forked tounge sonny boy. And no I don't want to meet you for a drink becasuse you don't show.
  24. Hate to tell you my my wife's sister (born and bred in Thailand) is just about finishing a three month holiday with us and she loves the good old vegemite sandwiches. Never eaten it before but loves the stuff. I am going to buy her a big jar to take back to LOS with her so she doesn't miss it too much.
