I recently flew Phuket to BKK on Air Asia and our bags were 4 kilos over total - yep they charged us excess baggage (even though the mrs is Thai - that didn't make any difference). Hate to tell you my my wife's sister (born and bred in Thailand) is just about finishing a three month holiday with us and she loves the good old vegemite sandwiches.
