Any cheap "serviced apartments" near the action?
ashboy replied to persev's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
You say "serviced apartment" Does that mean you want a little more than a standard room? This place does a special rate for members of this forum. Not sure what it is now, cos the banner has gone. Maybe MM could put up a link? Anyway, you get two rooms with kitchen facilities, plus two swimming pools, and the baht bus goes past the door. (I'll guess the rate is around 1600b these days, so at the top end of your scale) http://www.theresidencegarden.com/en/ I know a couple of guys who stay here: http://www.sutuscourt.com/rooms.html Larger than average room, your price range -

I thought Denny stayed at Skyslops? -
Most decent hotels have the OZ Network, which shows the matches of the day on weekends (usually the same ones 7 Melbourne has live.) I guess Greg at Billabong, soi Metro has them, even though he's a cockroach. Darcy at Shagwell ( is it still called that?) shows all Aussie sport, AFL, NRL, racing. A bit of a drag to get there, but a nice bar with good tucker.

Hang on. I'm insulted. Since when is a svelte 40" equivalent to Fat Bastard?

Strange post. I guess by your handle you've got something better on offer?

I've been to Kanchanburi twice, stayed at this place as well as a place near it called Noble Night. Both good, I don't recall the pool at Pong Phen, must be new. I preferred Noble Night, but don't get a 'downstairs' room past the pool, as they are small and exposed to the sun.

I've stayed there twice, once in a standard room, once in a spa suite. great hotel, but last time the 'staff' were low in numbers. I guess thats a cyclical thing, like most places in LOS. -

What was the one that Caruso became famous in? Big tick for Picket Fences....Fyvush Finkel and Ray Walston just superb. -

Bought that on dvd a while back, as someone said, got to be watched in the right (wrong) order. I recorded the remake last year but haven't watched it yet. Ditto Life On Mars...the original UK version. I was confined to my room in Jomtien for a month three years ago, got the set of Blackadder from that place on 2nd Rd. I got converted to the US version of The Office at the same time. Ive also got some Hill St Blues on tape.....I fear it may age badly when its time to view it again. Next purchase may be AufWeidersehn Pet, I don't think series 3 or 4 were ever shown here. (Oz) A -
She won't run again this year. Not enough time to recover. More likely to retire now than have another preparation next year.

I have nothing but respect for businesses that try new and innovative means of improving the bottom line. -
I didn't know the boathouse had a pool? Your friend could also try Chateau Dale. Close to Jomtien, good rates for 7 day stays, I think they have two room condos. As does the RG, two pools and on the baht bus route.

I used the P76 as a hideaway when I had a regular girl in my room at the RG. Very handy to WS. I also spent a night in the ST hotel next to Tim Bar Beer when the Haven stuffed up my reservation in high season. Took two ST's back there during the evening, they had no problem with it. You'll probably find any girl who's been in town more than a week will know a cheap clean ST room close to her work.

Is it back to being the Archer again? I loved it when it was.....not so much when it changed. -
The Ashes series starts tomorrow and thank fook, it finishes tomorrow. If not today. Well played poms, too good , did their homework, had a plan and stuck to it. Except that Bell coont, who plainly cheated yesterday. Hilditch has to go, as does whoever the coach is this week. (Really, they just renewed his contract? BEFORE an Ashes series? Fook me!) When Simpson was coach PC's hadn't been invented. He spent his time working with the players, ironing out their shortcomings. Now its all stats and pie charts. The players should be compelled t

The question remains: How can England beat Germany? What with the Yanks and Aussies having gone home already. ....and the French and Italians taking up their usual positions, hiding under the furniture.

Never mind after dark. I wouldn't go out in parts of Sth Africa....anywhere in Africa...and many parts of Asia....within an hour of the impending sunset. "I Am Legend" springs to mind. But did you miss the part about them being INSIDE their hotel when attacked?

Five Australian football fans were among nine people tied up and robbed at gunpoint in a terrifying hold-up in their hotel room following the Australia-Serbia World Cup match in South Africa. The Nine Network said that one of the female victims was sexually assaulted during the robbery, staged by four armed men at the hotel in Nelspruit. They were found by another Australian guest, Steve Gaynor, who told Nine that one of the victims, believed to be a member of the Australian Federal Police, had kept the others calm during the nightmare ordeal on Thursday. Mr Gaynor had found his ro

No, it was an easier group. Ludicrously so. Go google some of the results. The catch was, after playing such football powerhouses as the Solomon Islands and Fiji, qualification came down to one home-and-away series against either a South American or "Asian" team of full-time professionals. Which makes the Kiwis' efforts all the more repectable.

Got to repect the USA for achieving top spot in the group, and as Tom points out, the draw has opened up for them. Who knows, maybe a few of them will start to take notice of sports the whole world enjoys.
