Stayed there a few times and agree with Hub. Past its use by date now. If Stephen spent a few quid on the rooms it could be good value again, but as it is the curtains dont even cover the windows!

At risk of being "authoritative".... There's this thing called quarantine. The people that work in it are closely aligned with customs. Some countries which have a vibrant primary industrial sector seek to protect their agriculture by preventing diseases, fungus, plant seeds etc being brought across their borders. One method of such transmission can be on footwear or sporting equipment which has soil contaminants and has not been cleaned. If you check the box on your inbound passenger card which acknowledges that you have visited a farm your footwear will be subject to check. Amazingly, the people who work in this strange world of quarantine, can recognise golf clubs, and deduce that a golfer might have golf shoes, and that such shoes might have soil on them. And to answer your other question, normally they will take your shoes, have them cleaned and returned to you. Unfortunately, it will cost considerably more than the 20 baht you could have paid at the golf course. Understood? Or maybe they're secretly employed by the R&A to catch people with illegal spikes.

Thai have never charged me excess for golf clubs. I get the extra 5 k allowance for FF status and do exactly what Joe says with packing. That worries me. Stuffing shirts, jocks etc around your clubs protects them in flight. I wrap the bag in plastic to protect it. Thai treat it as fragile/oversize; whether that makes any difference once it goes throught the trapdoor I don't know. One tip....on your return flight, have your golf shoes close to hand. They will need to be inspected for dirt and vegetable matter.

It was quiet as a graveyard but they guys where having some fun so we had a few drinks. Two of the guys wanted to BF a girl and they where told that the barfines had been increased from 500 baht to 600 baht. I also noticed that chang draft is now 85 baht from 55 baht per glass. I really dont get the logic behind the price increases when the place is struggling to get in customers and good quality girls. .................................................................................................... ........................ People have been saying X-zone is now a top place to visit, so me and a few friends (three to be exact) decided to check it out as the last time I went it was shite. Well we went up stairs and walked in and the place was quite full. Sat down and lots of service staff where about so we waited, waved a a girl for a drink.............GOT BLANKED!!! .................................................................................................... ...................................... have been out the last few nights and been popping into Sisters on walking street..................well for a few nights I have been chatting with a girl who was good fun and quite cute, had a few beers last night and asked about the barfine. I stayed at Inn House about 18 months ago. I liked it...the room I had was overlooking the bay, just lucky I guess. Clean and modern, big fridge, perhaps a trifle spartan but no complaints. Girls ID is a must. I'd stay there again. BTW, I've stayed at the Haven twice, I have to say the rooms are past their use by date. Food still good.

John, that was my plan as well, but I liked the clubs so much I brought them home. The guy advertised them on that "other" forum where I'm not welcome any more. If you do a search there under my handle you might be able to find his phone number.

Is that guy still there? I had a long chat with him a while back and he was looking to get out. Had some good info but not many sets in stock. I ended up buying a set of Callaway knockoffs from a guy in Jomtien that sells out of his condo. I use them every week at home and they're fine. By memory it was around 3000b for the irons only. Did I mention I had my best score ever two weeks ago playing with them?

And a very fine night it was. I think....

I went into Mistys last week with two mates (both boardies here). First time I've been in for nearly two years. Although I had some issues with the place in the past, it always had a great selection of quality birds. Last Saturday it was 90% mingers, and numbers were well down. Numbers on punters were well down also (to be fair, several places in town were quiet that night.) The young bloke with us pulled a reasonable looking lass, but we two 50-year olds were totally blanked in the time we were there. A few girls sat around in ones and twos puffing on smokes and not worrying about customers. PSP was sat at a table with one other bloke we recognised from the boards, not really giving a toss about what was going on in the place. So what is the role of the farang manager in these places? Clearly not to set the atmosphere or keep the girls hustling. My info is you can buy 20% shares in Mistys right now if you've got silly money, but Partyhead also owns the freehold so the place is stuck in Pattayaland, while more and more punters seem to be attracted to the expanding number of bright and shiny go-gos around Walking St. Damn shame really. __________________
