There are a few ways to see this. A couple of years ago there was a great U Tube video of opening a cheap safe with a potato. The reality for most of us is that we will never have our rooms rifled and it would be hard luck if it ever happened. I have been staying at the same hotel for a couple of years now and they know me and all my bad habits. I dont think that anyone would be given a key because of this. I dont have the option of a lock box at reception but even if I did I would still use the in room safe which is behind a well locked door and at night while asleep is still locked and the door of the room has a safety device as well. For most of us this is a nil worry because we have no viable options.

Whilst I have not yet recieved any change of airport from Tiger yet I sort of expect it. In anticipation I emailed Mr T for a quote and he has come back with DM to Pattaya 1200 Baht. I will also post this on the Mr T thread.

There you have it. New owners and major construction and "...will continue to be my first choice.." .and " I will continue to recommend it" This precisely the point that I make. I avoid the place as much for its short comings as those that contiue to sell the unsellable. Why recommend a place that you have not stayed in for yonks!

This is typical of all topics concerning this place. Someone thinks that this post is worth a red minus point yet over the years many guests have complained about the same things. I will give him a tick beecause I believe that an honest answer should not be penalised.

Do you spend many nights alone in Pattaya?
teelack replied to Butch's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
The crux of the matter for me is that Pattaya allows you to pick and chose each and every night. This is something that I have totally no control over in Farangland (unless I re-marry) and I am very happy to have this choice. I have also read here that A lot of guys like a shag and then sleep alone. I on the other hand really enjoy the cuddling up stuff as well so bottom line, as ever, up to you! -

Subject: : Veet Hair Removal Trust me when I say you will need a hankie or tissues at hand before you read this. This is an actual review on amazon.co.uk for Veet Hair Removal for Men... This review is from: Veet for Men Hair Removal Gel Creme 200 ml (Personal Care) After having been told my danglies looked like an elderly rastafarian I decided to take the plunge and buy some of this as previous shaving attempts had only been mildly succesful and I nearly put my back out trying to reach the more difficult bits. Being a bit of a romantic I thought I would do the deed on the missus's birthday as a bit of a treat. I ordered it well in advance and working in the North sea I considerd myself a bit above some of the characters writing the previous reviews and wrote them off as soft office types...oh my fellow sufferers how wrong I was. I waited until the other half was tucked up in bed and after giving some vague hints about a special surprise I went down to the bathroom. Initially all went well and I applied the gel and stood waiting for something to happen. I didn't have long to wait. At first there was a gentle warmth which in a matter of seconds was replaced by an intense burning and a feeling I can only describe as like being given a barbed wire wedgie by two people intent on hitting the ceiling with my head. Religion hadn't featured much in my life until that night but I suddenly became willing to convert to any religion to stop the violent burning around the turd tunnel and what seemed like the destruction of the meat and two veg. Struggling to not bite through my bottom lip I tried to wash the gel off in the sink and only succeeded in blocking the plughole with a mat of hair. Through the haze of tears I struggled out of the bathroom across the hall into the kitchen by this time walking was not really possible and I crawled the final yard to the fridge in the hope of some form of cold relief. I yanked the freezer drawer out and found a tub of ice cream, tore the lid of and positioned it under me. The relief was fantastic but only temporary as it melted fairly quickly and the fiery stabbing soon returned . Due to the shape of the ice cream tub I hadn't managed to give the starfish any treatment and I groped around in the drawer for something else as I was sure my vision was going to fail fairly soon.I grabbed a bag of what I later found out was frozen sprouts and tore it open trying to be quiet as I did so.I took a handful of them and tried in vain to clench some between the cheeks of my arse. This was not doing the trick as some of the gel had found it's way up the chutney channel and it felt like the space shuttle was running it's engines behind me. This was probably and hopefully the only time in my life I was going to wish there was a gay snowman in the kitchen which should give you some idea of the depths I was willing to sink to in order to ease the pain. The only solution my pain crazed mind could come up with was to gently ease one of the sprouts where no veg had gone before. Unfortunately, alerted by the strange grunts coming from the kitchen the other half chose that moment to come and investigate and was greeted by the sight of me, arse in the air, strawberry ice cream dripping from my bell end pushing a sprout up my arse while muttering..." Ooooh that feels good ". Understandably this was a shock to her and she let out a scream and as I hadn't heard her come in it caused an involutary spasm of shock in myself which resulted in the sprout being ejected at quite some speed in her direction. I can understand that having a sprout farted against your leg at 11 at night in the kitchen probably wasn't the special surprise she was expecting and having to explain to the kids the next day what the strange hollow in the ice cream was didn't improve my status...So to sum it up Veet removes hair, dignity and self respect...:)

Anyway, bottom line for me will be the actual prices. I am happy to fly into and out of PP with Air Asia and unless there is something better I am happy to keep on using them. I have not yet considered a flight to Cambodia without going to PP for a few days as its a good destination.
-
Looking at the list of participating companies still seems to make this a serious venture. If the only thing that happens is to force Thai and Bangkok to lower their prices then it will have been a good thing.

Bit harsh? Just because its a budget airline does not give it license to screw with peoples time, holidays and plans. Its simply bad business and poor PR.
-
Thanks for all the info guys. Its a learning curve for me. My reasoning at this stage is that when I get to Swampy I will book in if the flight is a goes and if not simply get a Bells bus back to Pattaya. This is one of the great things about flying inter Asia, the fare write off should not upset your holiday. Whilst for simple curiosity I would like my few days in AC the more that I read and become involve with a web forum the less that I find the place appealing. Needless to say I really dont want to be screwed around but then again my home airport is subject to fog and I have missed flights because of this and simply put it down to things beyond my control. Thanks Evil. I also appprecite the point that you make about lack of service. Its the same the whole world over in that if an airline supplies you with a cheap flight they often believe that the service should be the same!
-
Thanks for that. It raises the issue about '..giving a dog a bad name' in that the adverse publicity may have lead to the 40/50 % loading and low occupancy will kill the whole deal eventually.

X zone Two for one offer all night
teelack replied to xzone nev's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Hi there Nev. Do you want people reading this to print a copy of the voucher and bring it in? -
No idea but I read it on a forum in the last few days.

If, as I hear, they have a $99 dollar return fare to Siem Reap it will be a winner.

Private Dancer A Gogo
teelack replied to Private Dancer's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Thanks and I hope you are a success but remember please that you are one of very many bars and when members perceive that there are better places or that they get better value elsewhere they will vote with their feet. Bottom line: What is your point of difference? -
Slightly off to one side but I carry with me old receipts for medications and dose size that I know will work. I have never used them but at least would have something to trot into the pharmacy if something went wrong. I am worried as hell about getting the wrong meds as I am alergic to pe.nacillin.

Get well buddy. We need a correspondent in the North.

Sabai Lodge v Residence Gardens - which is better?
teelack replied to goldeni's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Further to the Sabai Resort. I stayed in the two storied block at the left of reception coming in. I think that they call these superior rooms. I could not hear the nightclub from there but then again I do get in late. I like the location a lot but have moved back to Soi 2 because I still believe this to be better value. -
Thanks for the info guys. After reading Evils comments I am happy to conclude that I will have no problems at all just booking back into Pattaya if they stuff me around. With any refund from them or travel insurance I really will not be much out of pocket and AC can wait for another day.
