  1. Some while ago someone raised the question of how to change a heading to a topic to account for updated information or whatever. I know its to do with the edit function but cannot work it out, advise please.
  2. As a post script to my non Philippine adventure. I found out when I got home that Tiger Air had credited my entire fare within a week of me asking for a refund. My reason to them was that because my return leg had a changed time I would be unable to connect with an international flight and therefore had to cancel my entire trip. This was a good result for me and rather unexpected.
  3. Thanks for this. I note the following from their site. deposits are non refundable if you cancel. Please take note of your check in balance. Funds are due at the time of check in payable in cash as we do not accept credit cards at check in. It also states that this must be paid in Thai Baht. Any comments please?
  4. Thanks. Do you have a suggestion for a company to deal with for a Pattaya condo?
  5. Just wondering if there are any suggestions for Pattaya central hotels that offer a monthly rate. My preferred option does not have one and gets a bit pricy over the high season. The only one I have seen of late is the Pattaya Bay Resort and with the on-site construction, this is off my list.

  7. Sorry never got there.
  8. I was wondering about sending mail to Thailand. I cannot ever recall seeing a mail man or indeed a mailbox. With so many people in Pattaya living away from home I assume that perhaps they use phone and possibly rent a PO box somewhere. Is there a delivery service? Are my assumptions correct? Just interested.
  9. OK this is what I wrote: For 28 days my prefered accommodation in February/March will be costing me about 38000 baht . This is 28 days straddling February and March. This isnt two months.
  10. My current plans are to try for 3 x one month trips a year to Pattaya. For 28 days my prefered accommodation in February/March will be costing me about 38000 baht and I was wondering about renting a condo a month at a time. I have never done this before and would appreciate any advice. There are two musts however and these are a Pattaya location, not Jomtien or Naklua and use of a swimming pool. Any comments, contacts or costs appreciated.
  11. Thanks to the OP for making me aware of how much more prevalent this is than I thought.
  12. The overland mini bus/big bus service cost me $28 last year from Snooky to Pattaya. Air fare is only cheap if you book ahead with Air Asia and dont for ger the extras like cab to Don Maung, cabs and departure tax in Cambodia as well as Thailand. It can mount up but some hotels in PP will pick you up at airport for free.
  13. Always good to have a contact in PP. For people not sure the 10$ is $US the de facto currency of Cambodia.
  14. This was a humdinger of a night. I have never seen BD as packed as it was and the entertainment was first class.I got there in time to enjoy Musical Chairs, Pattaya style.Lots of girls and the upturned faces of the customers and you caan paint the pictire for yourself. Khun Phill was doing the MC'ing and doing it well. What more caan be said than bloody great night and thanks to all the organisers, the birthday boy and the girls who really let rip.
  15. Excellent.
  16. Thanks guys. Done dusted and delivered.
  17. I heard that Alex was in hospital. Anyone know if he is out and about yet?
  18. Simple reason is that the bank buy rate in Pattaya is about 510 to the 1000 and I can do better than this at home.
  19. Some of you might have seen my thread re cancelling a trip to AC. Just a final point. I realise that I would haave enjoyed the trip but the time has passed and maybe I will give it a try next year. I do however have 17000 peso and I can either take them home for a small loss or offer them to anyone in Pattaya considering a trip. Here is what I think they are worth. Nearly every exchange is offering to sell you 1000 peso from 790/800 baht. I am prepared to accept 700. On the 17000 this will be a saving of between 1600 and 1700 baht. PM me if you are interested and I will arrange a time to meet and exchange 0 Top Back to top Quote MultiQuote Edit Report
  20. Thanks to all for the evening. I took a Thai lady with me and we had the "Luck" to be sitting next to the Farang blonde and her hubby. The evening was interesting in that for an hour we were entertained with sucking, fingering and an excellent all round display of flesh.Oh dear, different and definately fun.
  21. Go to AIS and you will find 12call. My suggestion is that when in Pattaya you go to AIS at either Tucom or Central Paza and discuss your needs. I spent 500 baht to upgrade my plan a year ago as I was forever topping up. Its now got about 12 months expiracy so I can keep same number no problems.
  22. The Floating Markets are being relocated?
  23. In addition to my suggestion about the Buakow market coffee I also suggest you try the coffee at Jimmy Macs in Soi 6' A large mug is I think 35 baht and a full greasy brekkie is 110baht, bacon, eggs, sausage, toast, tomato, orange juice included. You can see why a 100 baht coffee at Starfucks hardly thrills me.
  24. Thanks again but I think you understand me. Its the comments about the girls, not employed by the bar, getting commission. This is something I have not come across before not that it makes a difference. I simply point out that nothing is quite what it seems in Pattaya.
