Err yes I do have access to the complete reservation systems and not just the maximum of 9 seats available in each class of seating in economy. Thats why I can tell you and anyone else thats interested that both carriers are wide open (within reason) Im sorry but Etihad has skyrocketed in price (I will add in "general") either by removing the amount of cheaper seats available or by other means. I have around 31,000 miles on skywards which wont increase as have switched allegiance to Etihad as my reserve carrier (to Eva). Completely incorrect. Price on Eva and Thai is £443 plus/minus £4 depending on dates and the flights are wide open on both carriers via Westeast Travel. Chivas

Indeed the pricing on Etihad has skyrocketed recently with the removal of the Gatwick option and the double departure out of Heathrow implemented. Chivas

Likewise,it is low season but those fares are excellent. Even with the horrendous rises in taxes etc, prices are still only around £440 non stop. Chivas

The Prince hotel and overall site is being redeveloped and this has been common knowledge for sometime. However as always with Thailand rumours abound re start dates etc but as I had an interest in if/when it was to start I have known for sometime that April 28th was commencement day. The bars underneath the Prince must be aware of it, as prieviously mentioned two bars were selling off beer wholesale, at firesale prices last week during the day. Remember what happened in Bangkok a few years ago when the bulldozers rampaged through the bar area near Soi Cowboy (if I remember correctly) destroying Stereo systems, girls property etc overnight. Yes strange because if you put in advance dates (couple of months etc) flights again originate and terminate at Gatwick. Maybe aircraft are out of service-slots being switched etc. Another website states that Etihad are awaiting further delivery of aircraft hence temporary suspension of Gatwick-Abu Dhabi route Chivas

No chance of any help from Emirates within Bangkok because of loss of face. TIT Take the seats allocated but complain in WRITING prior to flying and make sure someone signs for your letter in the Bangkok office. Email as well prior to flying-print off email when sent. Upon return follow up with Emirates in UK. You'll probably get a couple of free seats if you complain persistently but politely. Chivas

I prefer Etihad over Thai even taking into account extended flight times. Food, Inflight entertainment,cabin crew are all superior and the seats on Thai whilst generous on seat pitch leave me with a sore backside within a couple of hours ? Chivas

Try the Woraburi Hotel within walking distance Nana etc. Approx 1200 baht for standard room including large buffet breakfast. Small roof top pool. Chivas

Agree with the cigarette smoke comment-Absolutely gross for non smokers within transit area. As stop over times are normally short its best to hang around the start of the air bridge tunnels where its not so bad or go down to the lower duty free area where again its not so bad. Chivas
