Because 6 foot 5 and 28" seat pitches are not compatible !!

The price is excellent on Gulf but the seatings not ( in economy) Used them once and from Bahrain back to Heathrow apart from take off and landing was obliged to stand at the back the entire flight. Seat pitch was certainly no more than 28" no matter what it says on any website. Avoid like the plague if you are tall. Chivas

Totally incorrect and dangerous for others when you state "facts" that are wrong. As previous poster Skygod states they wont even let you on the motor unless you have a ticket out of thailand within first 30 days.

Disagree with airport being a negative. Smokers booths are clearly signed-impossible to get lost due to circular layout (ideal if your thai wife/girl is flying alone) cheap duty frees if you desire,plenty of seating,meet and greet ground staff when your flight lands redirecting you to next gate-not sure what more you require ??

Will shortly being taking a 3-4 day break in the Chiang Mai area. As have never been before, would be interested if any board members have recommendations for a hotel reasonably priced with a pool, near to the bar areas ? Chivas

I have used that 0750 out of Bkk to Doha and to be honest it wasnt that bad. The only differential was that the seat back avod was non operating and since the flight departed at 0750 and most people were asleep within 30 minutes it wasnt an issue. I would use same flight again without question. Chivas

You can definatly 100% transfer miles to another account as I transferred Skywards miles to another board member here, who wanted to upgrade to business if I recall. I had to make one phone call to Skywards Manchester and all done. Chivas

Stop panicking Thai will get you there. If you cancel your ticket because you might have a problem you will face cancellations charges at best-loss of all monies at worst. Thai International are not Easy jet (though some will beg to differ ) and will sort alternative flights if and when neccessary. IMHO no disruption will take place-it will be sorted.

Pattayamad, Dont rely on what it says on any website.I assure you that ALL airlines cancel without question return reservations for no shows on outward sector. As my partner is a reservation agent I assure you the information is accurate. If there is a paragragh detailing what you say, then you need to get that in writing with a clear signature/time/date from Thai before you go. Still dont understand why you would want to shell out £300 plus anyway when thai will still get you there anyway ??

If you fail to show for your outbound journey then the inbound reservation is automatically deleted. It will still fall on thai to sort out your outbound travel at the earliest opportunity should your outbound flight be cancelled.

Noticeable recently that airlines website prices are way down compared to days of old. Recently checked Etihad,Emirates and Evas website prices and all three were cheaper than Westeasts prices (albeit only between £5-£15) Went back to westeast, told them and they promptly reduced my booking to £5 under website price. Definately worth checking each time you book. Chivas

Used Eva earlier this year on a "h" class ticket and no mileage, but was able to upgrade to Elite using 20,000 miles on inbound sector. Check with airline direct. Chivas

The Fipper Lodge is a HOTEL Secrets is a shithole in a shight location.

12,000 a day for just the room at Bangkok Pattaya BOLLACKS Stayed there for one night in private room for 2450 baht end of 2006.Youre saying they have lobbed on another 10 k over one year !! Girlfriend recently had 2 night stay in Yanhee International in Bangkok in private suite including seperate bed for me and it was exactly 2000 baht per night for room. Chivas

Abu Dhabi airport has been smoke free for at least the last 16 months although they have small smoking booths available. Chivas

Suggest you email the airline directly giving your flight details etc and see what they say. They have responded very quickly to any query I have had. Chivas

Indeed it was-cabin crew had to pour all contents of beer cans etc into glasses without leaving the cans bottles etc

Am sure you are right-maybe the 4 sectors I flew were at low loads due to low season ? Whatever I was impressed. Chivas

If you dont mind a 2 flight trip (like myself) I consider Qatar to be the best by far. Bearing in mind they are one of only four, 5 star airlines thats not surprising. The entertainment system has to rate as the dogs bollacks and rarely are their flights more than half full. Have just returned and on the Bangkok-Doha sector about 20% full and on the Doha-Heathrow leg there was just 38 people on a A340-600 !! Asked one of the cabin crew if this was normal and she said that normally this flight (QR001)is rarely more than 20% full. Chivas
