For anyone looking for cheap economy flights Qatar are offering from their own website, plus agent websites £480 for London departures through Bangkok. Max stay a month though. Just put in numerous random outbound/inbound dates and fare is certainly available. Chivas

My transit times on Qatar were 50 mins outbound and 2 hour inbound so fine for me.

People should be more grateful that they live relatively near airports like Heathrow,Gatwick or Manchester. Try living in Cornwall and talk about flight connections,trains or coaches. My next trip will see me arrive home after landing at Heathrow at best 9 hours after - at best !!

Jet have been pushing their economy seats out at around £500 recently. High ratings by travel "experts" Seat pitch not to brilliant at 31" but apparently the widest economy seat in the business at 20" What is this "Danosoft" bollacks on your posts ?? Just received email from lazy vacation stating availability of seats in august at £530, plus a whopping £307 addition for tax/surcharges in an economy seat !!

Gulf had the smallest seats Ive ever sat in in economy although this was a few years ago now. Maybe they have upgraded planes ?

Southall travel,Opodo and Ebookers all have Gulf Air departures up to 24th July at £609 Might well have later dates in July but 24th was last day I considered. Chivas

Try using the money changer on 2nd floor of Tops-Up to couple months previous didnt realise he was even there. If you check the Bank of Asia rate on the ground floor for reference and then wander upstairs I found that consistently he was 30 satang better. Asked him if deals were negotiable on rate and surprised at his response which was "course they are" in a manner that suggested I was wet in the head for possibly thinking otherwise. £500 was minimum for upgrading of rate and more you exchange etc etc. They maintain a "book" on display whereby potential customers are offering THEM baht and what approximate amount in sterling/euros etc they would like in return. Its full of entries. Would suggest that if you walk in with 50k sterling youll get your arm bitten off for it with a mega rate. Suggest also you have some trusted muscle with you !! Chivas

Couldnt agree more-cheap fares are great, however if they were £1000 plus would happily pay the additional and can afford to do so, if it kept the moronic, skin headed, slobbily dressed tattoed tossers out of Thailand.

Southall travel have Royal Jordanian at £394 ,Etihad at £428 and Oman air at £423. All available with multiple dates. Picked up Etihad for at least £100 less than I expected. Book before they kick in extra fuel surcharges !! Chivas

With a bit of luck economy fares from the UK will rise to £1000 plus, which should keep most of the papillon look a likes, out of town

I did pull up the details of the connection times via Airline Network but on seeing the return connection (on the date I entered) was 8 hours I had no further interest !! Chivas
