I am rooting for the USA but to be honest, I see England winning 4-1.

If England plays as a team and not a bunch of elite stars they should win easily:

Squad

NUM NAME POSITION

12 Robert Green Goalkeeper

23 Joe Hart Goalkeeper

1 David James Goalkeeper

18 Jamie Carragher Defender

3 Ashley Cole Defender

5 Michael Dawson Defender

2 Glen Johnson Defender

20 Ledley King Defender

6 John Terry Defender

15 Matthew Upson Defender

13 Stephen Warnock Defender

14 Gareth Barry Midfielder

22 Michael Carrick Midfielder

11 Joe Cole Midfielder

4 Steven Gerrard Midfielder

8 Frank Lampard Midfielder

7 Aaron Lennon Midfielder

16 James Milner Midfielder

17 Shaun Wright-Phillips Midfielder

9 Peter Crouch Forward

19 Jermain Defoe Forward

21 Emile Heskey Forward

10 Wayne Rooney Forward

Player for player the Americans cannot match them but when all is said and done it is a team sport. Go USA

Over the past couple of games it is true, England have started the games slowly . But what you have to remember is this, they were friendlies, of which we won by the way, all they were was a chance for the mananger to see players have a run out, so that he can decide on his starting 11. Nobody wants to get injured so close to the World Cup. We have already lost Beckham to injury, then Ferdinand.

But I reckon, after Capello ranting to the players at half time in the last game, I'm betting England will come out firing. The importance to start well will give them the fire they need.

My prediction.. 3-1 ENGLAND :D

Tosser. :D

3-0 GB and possibly 3-1 if we get lucky or Ronald McDonald (James) is in goal for GB.

As I said earlier,UK is better at ever position than US,except for GK,where Tom Howard is better.

Also, the best US 'keeper is not even playing, you may have heard of him in UK,Aston Villa's 'keeper,Brad Friedel.

Unless I'm watching a delayed broadcast, the score is 1-1 and the clock says 45:36, whatever that means.

That means England's just made the biggest fuck up of his career and let an easy ball slip through his fingers

Entertaining first half and best match of the lot so far

So instead we end up having to use 'American' English...why do all well laptops have to come with that default? <huh

GB (England, Scotland & Wales) could'nt make it tonight, but England may still do it alone in the next 15 minutes, Good match so far. No diving.

cheers rogero :D

Shight England !!

How many times does it need for any England manager to work out you can't play Lampard and Gerrard together-apart from the goal Gerrard did nothing and Lampard likewise.

Rooney was totally ineffective.

Bad performance but well done the USA.

by far the worse game so far, England's midfield was non existent.

hoofing a long ball up to over the hill heskey won't win games .... why did England not play Joe Cole?

don't worry, just because both teams had a terrible first game doesn't mean that they won't progress and do well?

compare Rooney's performance against Messi's today ....

I think we owe England's goalkeeper, Green, a drink!

...if he could hold it.

Yeah, you'd have to put it in his hands and make sure he closed them around the drink before releasing it.

Funny, but I thought from another angle That is, I agree with you but didn't stop there. I kept thinking, and especially second half, that the Englishchers were not making any room for him at all. Fairly often, it was like 9 guys and a butterfingers standing around with their thumbs you know where waiting for Rooney to take it through six defenders and make them all look good. I presumed that was mostly the coach who devised those tactics but there was no clear-out for Rooney whatsoever. The Americans really hammered him with coverage and England were helping them, in effect.

Sorry for the dumb question, but is there no such thing as overtime to break a tie? How does it work if it's the final game and they're trying to pick a winner?

You are only like that because we didn't give you an assembly to play with!

The UK government did give us an Assembly under devolution as they did for Scotland and Northern Irelend. It's England that has not been given an Assembly or similar so they are still governed entirely by the English. Welsh, Scottish & Northern Irish. :party

Glyn.

That's right, what kind of a bizarre system is that? And those country parliaments can be dissolved at the pleasure of Whitehall, at least the one in Northern Ireland which was dissolved once, am I right?

Back to the game. It sure sucks to be a goaltender. Nobody remembers you except when you fuck up. Come to think of it, sounds like every job I ever had.
