On a cold 30th January 45 years ago, Ringo and John borrowed their wives' coats for a trip up to the roof. In a meeting downstairs George had just slammed a last minute veto on any of his rehearsed songs being played. The attempt to get back some life in the group after the bad feeling engendered between them during the recording of The White Album... had failed spectacularly.

 

……..But being set up together to perform outside, not to screaming fans……but rather fittingly to nothing but an English sky did bring some of their group spirit back.

 

They'd prepared a concert. (behind them are instruments that were unused). ………They didn't get to finish it due to complaints by the 'neighbours' who should be hunted down and shot.

 

Bad hair……Sideburns…..Duck Dynasty beards…….Yoko…….. But thankfully some pretty good performances and and a few unguarded smiles between John and paul….. The last time we saw them.

Anyway here they are recently..(I bought the album) sounding like they always used to…… Wonderful.

Sorry, wasn't saying anything about Paul, just that I really like the album version of Sloop John B.

I came across Australian singer-songwriter keith Urban a few years back. Like his stuff.

 

This really impressed me. It's an OK song but it's his performance and control over the audience……. He has those girls in the palm of his hand!!

This is the band that 100 people died at a fire at their gig ( RIP ). And their singer had previously done a sentence for murder. I had their first album that had some great guitar lines.
