THE HANGOVER II, filmed on Soi Cowboy?

Recommended Posts

Yes it was filmed almost entirely in Bangkok, with some scenes in California (mostly airport).

I don't know the actual locations, but it is standard practice by the Thai production companies to offer the actual employees a chance to be extras when they're using bars, hotels, government offices and the like. Most of the "Vietnam" movies made in Thailand, for example, have Thai BGs.

They used Sukhumvit Soi 7/1 in BKK for some street shots. I know the Eden Club was closed for several days because of the filming.

Was just wondering if anyone can confirm this move was really filmed in Bangkok and the shark club was used with real BG's??

Where the heck have you been these last few months?

It was on the news, the entertainment channels, in newspapers and magazines all round the world.

In addition it's been mentioned on all the boards when it was happening?

Well for the GoGo scenes Cactus Johns on Cowboy was used as the entrance, they remodelled the front and John is yet to change it back. They filmed there for about 2 days but on entering the GoGo the filming was done in a sound stage in the US. All the girls you see were models, the girls of Cowboy were very pissed of about this, but I guess it was the right thing to do as the film studio may of been accused of employing prostitutes.

Uh. Yeah. Right. They're deadly afraid of that.

not sure about Hangover II, but Elephant White was definitely filmed in BKK & you can clearly see Soi Cowboy at the beginning of the film.

actually, I am sure H.O. 2 was filmed in BKK, but just not sure about the Soi Cowboy scenes, as I've only seen the previews of it

A couple of exterior scenes were done on Soi Cowboy for sure. So far as interiors, you can do them anywhere, they don't have to be in the actual bar. But they may well have been done in the bar, why not, eh?

Bradley Cooper catches ping pong ball with mouth.

(excerpt follows for people too lazy to click ;) )

"This one gal was able to eject ping-pong balls at high velocities with amazing accuracy."

Cooper decided to join in the fun and asked Phillips to take a photo of him with his mouth open, pretending to catch one of the balls – and the performance artist's aim was true.

Not only did the airborne ball hit Cooper, he says:

"(It went) right in my mouth… (There are) Handi Wipes coming out from everywhere, (co-star) Ed Helms is throwing up… It was memorable."

It was not known whether the incident occurred on set or as part of a side-trip.
