Yesterday afternoon whilst on my way for food with a mate.We were on soi 14,3rd road, when all of a sudden my mate starts shouting and screaming, and runs off.Its then i look down and see a bright green snake, which by this time is slithering away from me.Soon it disappears into some vegetation.

This bright green snake was about 1.5 to 2 meters in length and very slim and a small head.I have checked it out and it seems to be a harmless variety, but i guess you cant be too careful.

Been coming to Pattaya for over 20 yrs and never seen a live snake on the street before,ah apart from you want picture taken type snakes.

What sounds like the same species of snake (or the same one :clueless ) followed me out of the Friendship car park a while ago. Thank god my Missus wasn't there or she'd have grabbed it and eaten it. I think she always overcooks them them.

I saw a cobra on walking street once. Lots of people taking pics with their phones, but none got to close.

Seen them up in the trees on the beach, had a great laugh once when one of those green ones fell down near some guys on deck chairs.

Now that I have moved out of town and have a garden I see them all too frequently.

:lsmile Oh, I don't know, the little kids playing with one (pic at the link) seemed to be having a pretty good time with it. (Kidding - I wouldn't have stuck around long enough to even KNOW what color it was! Snakes - yuk.)

No no,was much much bigger than that one. When i said slim i meant slim for its length, which was near 6ft.Was probably

4 or 5 inches in circumference.

My mate said it looked pretty aggressive.I guess im lucky it didnt snap at me.I was only a foot away when i first saw it.

I hate snakes and I am scared of them. I am still yet to achieve my wish of both eating snake meat and drinking thier blood though. When I went to the village my wife's family wouldn't let me eat snake as they said it was bad luck for a farang to do this. Not sure if that was true or the wife was just lying to me!

I ate snake at the village. Could only taste the spices. Texture was very boney which surprised me because I didn't think snakes had bones.

You're thinking of sharks Paps, snakes have loads of bones - a bloody great long backbone with oodles of vertebrae and ribs hanging off them. They move the ribs to glide along in that creepy way.

Yeah, I realised that after the first couple of mouthfuls. Don't know why I imagined snakes to be boneless. Maybe from ripping apart earthworms when I was a kid.

I am deathly afraid of snakes...however growing up in the Midwest of USA we had some harmless green grass snakes around and over time I leartned not to be scared of them. Would actually pick them up and play with them as a kid...

For sure 2 months ago if i had you experience I would of just wrote one of these things off as a harmless grass snake..

but not now! A look a alike of the grass snake happens to be the green mamba the most poisonous snake in the world...and whilst not indigineous to SE Asia and actually illegal to have here, THEY ARE AROUND AND ON THE LOOSE!

Many green snakes in Thailand ,this is a pit viper which if bitten can make you very ill,you must

go to hospital for a injection straightaway.

These snakes live in trees in day time and come down to the ground at night ,I have had a couple in my garden here in Khon Kaen in last 3 years

I had to kill a couple of snakes in my garden last year.I didnt want to but my mrs was hysterical as she is terrified of snakes.

I have seen about 8 or 9 over the last few years in my garden and just let them slither on their way.
