PattayaPete's Beer Garden

Recommended Posts

My girl and I ate there last Sunday evening. We both enjoyed our meals and, particularly, as we were lucky enough to get a table furthermost out in the bay, and on a corner, it was a fairly romantic dinner (or as much as can be expected with a bar girl. I am happy to say that the meals are back to what they used to be prior to my last visit to LOS. Well done, Pete!

Nothing really. I didn't like the way your avatar was looking at me.

We stopped by late for dinner. Order came within 15 Minutes of ordering. I had soup and a sandwich. The women I was with had Thai food and she told me it was very good. Both of us came away more then

I was there last night around 8ish.

Cold Chang was 60 baht and one obvious fl at the bar. She wasn't too bad looking but had a few too many miles on her for my taste.I asked for a glass for my beer and didn't get a chilled one like guys buying pitchers did. Oh well.

Not a fan or the food there so I just order the fries @ 60 baht. They came hot and fast but weren't any good. They tasted like they had freezer burn or something, kinda a wooden stale taste. The girls asked me about it as she noticed I left them virtually untouched and offered to remake them. I told her not to waste her time as it was a supplier/storage/quality issue not a cooking one. She then asked if I would like something else and I declined. The cost of the fries were then deducted from my bill. Friendly staff as always and they handled my situation well. Nice location but I still don't like the food there.

We need to hire that girl to train everyone in town.

I like the beer garden, eat there quite often and never had a bad meal, I often go at sunset and sit outside as the sun is going down with a Heinekan ( I try and avoid alcohol during the day so this is usually the 1st) and read a copy of the days newspaper.

I look on this as a cost cutting exercise as to buy a daily UK paper is 200bht and the Heinekan much cheaper so Im saving money

Here's a photo of couple of Thai meals my then TGF ordered at Pattaya Beer Garden for herself, her daughter and a visiting friend. I had a jittery stomach that week, so I only ate steamed rice with a Pepto Bismol chaser. I can't say how the food tasted, but the ladies liked it, judging by what they said and the portions they ate. Even the little girl, a picky eater, did justice to her plate of food.

I've found the food to be middle of the road, no problems though.

You will always get a resolution to the problem though, it might be a bit a late but at least you wont pay for a meal if it's wrong in some way.

I took a girl to eat at the Beer Garden a couple of days ago at about 3.30pm.

When my food arrived, it was tepid, so I asked for it to be warmed up. The service girl was very off-hand, telling me the food was hot. However, she took it away but refused to take the rice. By the time the food returned, the rice was almost cold!

The problem of food being served when not hot happened a fair bit a while back, but seemed to have been solved. Evidently, it hasn't been sorted out entirely.

The food at the BG is mediocre, and the only reason for eating there is to enjoy the surroundings. However, I think that is better done with a drink rather than food.

Rather more attitude than one wants from service staff.

Getting just cooked food from kitchen to customer quickly is always a problem, not sure if PP has those heating lamps.

I remember a meal I had a in BKK. it was from a do it all internet cafe/coffee shop.

I ordered the special curry chicken on rice and when it came it looked wonderful. The chicken, however, was still frozen. The wait staff took it back and threw the whole lot into the microwave fresh veggies and all. It was still frozen so I sent it back again. Back for more nuking and it returned piping hot including the cucumber and lettuce. :llaugh

was there a few nights ago for a beer. Lot's of customers and I had a hard time finding a table.

Same same however the inconsistency of this place (Pattaya that is). Last night it was very quiet and there was no shortages of seats and tables. Go figure!

For me, the food menu was/is the big attraction - lots of good European specialities, so when I visited the Pattaya Beergarden I was a bit disappointed in the offerings - no different from what I could get in the Sportsman's, Queen Vic, Berts etc. That said, there wasn't a table to be had on the outside area and the sun was belting down so some people obviously do like the nosh.

Interesting to note that the guts of this topic has been the food and the ambience of the place. I think that when it opened the expectation was that it was going to be a top pick-up joint but it has never seemed to reach that status. There are always girls there and some quite fair but I was interested to note that every seat at the small bar was taken up the other night by girls only. No guys just simply a bunch of girls having a good natter in decent surroundings and not giving a hoot about the men. This place has IMHO worked really well but not perhaps in the way it was originally planned. This is no criticism, only my opinion but perhaps others have another view on the place?
