Any suggestions for restaurant with seaview

Recommended Posts

What's your favourite seaside (bar)restaurant for a relaxed night dining out.

I'm looking for restaurant(s) where you can sit near the beach,,so with a seaview and a bit of a romantic atmosphare.

Not decadent ,overpriced, poshy places but places where everyone (also bargirls) feels welcomed and with a good price-quality balance.

All suggestions welcome from Naklua all the way to Jomtien

Pattaya Beer Garden is a nice one but I have been there already a few times.

Mum Aroi : I have read several reviews but quite a lot not so postive ones also. Some people say it's overpriced for what they offer and also complaints about the service.

Mumaroi can never get an order right and if you are with other people, you will find some dishes come while others get forgotten about

PBG is the only one I can think of that's had a seaview.

Oh theres a place on the top floor of royal plaza (it's the whole basicly) , good food and nice view but $$$

they serve most types of food, American , japanesse, chinese , russian, thai , Italian, Spanish and Indian.

Mum Aroi, Naklua site. Mostly Thais eat there.

Very busy, particularly at weekends now.

Why not one of the Walking St places.... Tankay Seafood, Sea Zone, Lobster Pot. the place where they claim 'They are still Swimming'...Nang Nual etc. I think they are not so good and overpriced but on the decking over the sea there is a good atmosphere.

I quite liked 'Shell Tankay' in Naklua.

Okay here's an authentic Thai on the beach restaurant http://www.pattayaco...162/restaurant/

Excellent, well recommended. Too far South for me....

I use places North of Naklua, two of which are on the beach. Hat Samlan and Tankay, accessed by turning left off Sukhumvit (heading North) before Rt 36. Although my recent experiences have been poor, at weekend they get hit with a few large parties of Bangkok or locals and the service turns to shite.

Rim Talay Restaurant is right on the beach at Wongamat. Naklua Soi 18.

Just head towards Naklua from the Dolphin roundabout and after about a mile you'll see a big sign on the left directing you to it. If you get off a baht bus there and walk down the road about 400 metres or so. The road will bear round to the right with a narrower road going straight on, take this road as it takes you down to the beach and the restaurant. They also have a free bike/trike thingy with seats for 4/6 at that point to take you there and afterwards will take you back to the main road.

I ate there last week and the food was good and they had a 2-piece band playing in the background, not over the top so conversation levels are maintained. You are actually right by the beach and no traffic noise, just the waves gently lapping at the shore!

I might have some pics and load them later. Wasn't crowded and well worth a look.

You might want to do a search for a place called Preecha.... I can only get there using various landmarks... It is about a 20 minute ride outside of town, BUT, worth the drive.... It is a wonderful Seafood Restaurant located a few steps from the waters edge.

It is ranked up there in the top 2 or 3 restaurants Ive ever been to in Thailand, and is my absolute favorite for seafood.

I'm sure one of the local guys can provide directions.... Oh, and the Price is extremely reasonable.

I was there on my last trip, 4 of us ate like Kings (and Queens) and the price with drinks was under 2800 baht......

I've been to all of the restaurants mentioned in this thread except one and Preecha is the only one I'd recommend.

Yeah, I absolutely love the place...... I really enjoy everything about it, and in all the times I've been there, I have never had a negative experience..

Agree with all of this with the following input.

Rim Talay stinks of sewerage

Moom Arroi is a great afternoon eating place. Quiet, relaxing chill out place. If you are a couple get a table with loungers.. Sit, eat, drink, lay back, relax, Sit, eat, drink, lay back , relax...No pressure on you to leave like the WS establishments..Stomach Full? just lay back , relax then order "Picky" things. Go to Best supermarket Dolphin roundabout the day before to buy your wine and stick it in the fridge. Take it with you and ask for an ice bucket..My recommendation is Taylors sauv blanc or Chardonnay at @ 600 baht a bottle. Don't go there at night or on public holidays. It may be OK but equally it might be shite. I've never had a bad afternoon there..

Lung Suway is the only place I know that openly sells beer and spirits on "Dry" days. If you stay in Patts the drive back can put a downer on the Joie de vivre you experience during the meal.

The wine in PBG is around 1,000 Baht cheaper than EXACTLY the same wines in the seafood restuarents on WS. My recommendation is Number 12 on the menu!!

Don't agree with the sewerage smell at Rim Talay. We ate there last week and pass it virtually every day and don't notice any 'unnatural' aromas. There is a large drain next to it which used to be pretty pungent but they've been working on it and ordinarily there is no issue. I agree there may be when the sewerage system is overloaded due to the rains, but that could be said of many establishments around the town, including PBG!

Just my opinion, of course :bhappy

Yep, just my opinion and experience too...that is what the forum is about. I live at the bottom of soi 16 and often walk past it too.Almost always I have, like you, never smelt anything but on the two occasions I have eaten there the food and smell was bad enough for me to never to want to return. I have never smelt anything bad at PBG ...other than the road leading to it...and WS ..

I just want to say again that my posts are based on experience as a customer and as such maybe exactly the opposite to yours and many others due to personal taste...and the prevailing wind conditions at the time......
