I stayed at Opey De Place hotel on Soi Lengkee over Christmas for 1000 baht a night and I liked the hotel. Very basic but nice people, a good pool and in a great location.

Thank you all for a quick response.

It proves that the Forum is not dead.

This would be my first visit to Pattaya, and hence, I would prefer booking in advance.

THE HOTEL SHOULD BE JOINER FRIENDLY (no extra joiner fees).

Plus, suggest any Hotel around 600 - 800 Bahts per night (but the reviews should be good).

I require 5 Double Rooms for 6 Pax for 3 nights (September 08-11, 2013).

There are very few hotels in Pattaya in the cheaper range (600-800 Baht) that charge joiner fees, particularly if you ask for double rooms. In fact, I have yet to stay in one, even in the range of between 1000 and 2000 Baht per night. As stated, Drunken Duck or any other guesthouse on Soi LK Metro should meet your needs.

If you are six people you may need six rooms.

Why, some of them may be couples? Granny can live in the same room too.

Hi everyone, just joined the forum.

Yeah, over the past ten years I have stayed in literaly dozens of hotels in the Pattaya area, usually in the range from 350-1100 baht and have never once been charged a 'joiner fee' or even heard that term before. What the hell is it? Is this something new?

Oh it can happen, but it is less common in Pattaya than say Bangkok.

If you have booked the room on a single basis, a hotel may decide you have to pay say 500 baht to take an unregistered guest to your room. It can also be a bit of an 'earner' for the night duty staff.

500 baht, ouch! Thanks for the info, if that ever happens think I'll be checking out the following morning.

Re: the Intown Hotel, I agree with piero, it's a good option, if you don't mind the miserable-looking unhelpful reception staff. The roof pool is a nice touch, and usually had the pool to myself. However, could not find them on the internet in the past (I think there is a 'Town-in-town Hotel' just off Pattaya Klang which seems to come up on Google searches).

If budget is an issue, try the Sawasdee chain (link provided by Cicero above). The Sawasdees on Soi Diana and Soi Honey Inn used to do rooms for about 3-600 p/n. Or the Diana Dragon at the Buakow end of Soi Diana is another cheap option, expecially if you book weekly or monthly and if you don't mind a fan room it will be even cheaper. But the cheapest places i've come across are on the Sois that link Buakow with Third Road. You can get a room above a shop/bar over there for about 200 a night. In fact, it's often handy to book yourself in at one of those places even if you are staying somewhere else, as the spare room available 24/7 can come in very handy sometimes ;-)

A sound idea, will look into that.

To get what I want, so far, have had to go to 3rd road.I do like longe chair facility.

Right most or quite all hotels under 1500 bahts are without joiner fee, Sawasdee hotel aren't so cheap actually, chepeast room start at 900 bahts with a discount of about 25 % if you book in advance so about from 700 bahts.

MY SINCERE THANKS AND GRATITUDE TO ALL THE SENIOR MEMBERS FOR HELPING ME OUT.

JASMINE HOTEL has stated vide mail that they do not have Standard OR Delux Rooms during September 08 - 11, 2013.

Now I am zooming on SAWASDEE SABAI / SUTUS COURT / 18 Coins Inn.

These 3 Hotels have confirmed that they will not charge JOINER fees.

DEAR SENIORS......KINDLY RECOMMEND ME THE BEST ONE !

I'll throw my two bits in. I stay in Sutus Court on every visit to Pattaya - I believe zone 1, whatever is the most expensive. I think last August they charged 880 a night.

Sutus is in a great location, large clean rooms, large showers with consistent hot water (might stay off the top floor), good free Wifi and decent pools. I can't comment on the other two hotels as I a have never used them.

Best of luck!
