The UK exchange rates are fairly changeable at the moment, and do seem to fluctuate with certain statements. That last significant drop coincided with an Osbourne statement on an Andrew Marr interview, that he did not foresee any early rise in interest rates should the Tories get in again. Talk of referendums on Europe obviously seem to cause jitters too.

At the airport everyone gets ripped off, the exchanges were all offering 46.5 to £. I changed money yesterday in TT Soi Buakao and got 49.55 which wasn't bad.

Tempted to change the lot today

I have been hanging on for a bank TT rate above 50 for a while now, a few short lived nose above the water tests but nothing sustained.

No sympathy for the Russians personally.

It's 50.05 at Bangkok Bank now...but then there's a 5 day holiday coming up, so who knows what you'll get by the time they get around to processing it.

I changed up 30,000 GB pounds today. They called me from Siam C Bank in Bkk….said the rate was 49.973……. I said ,'Can you do more?'

She said, "Not big amount so sorry cannot"

I said, 'I old man, need money to pay for, 'Ban pak con chalar'.(Old people's home) Mai me tdang!! she says, 'Cannot' Anyway, after some pleading and complaints from me of, 'the price of viagra and false teeth these days' she relented a little ….she did some sums and we agreed on a whopping 49.978…….Wow!!!

But almost 50...

Anyway with what I have in the bank here now, that sees me through until August next year.

So lads I've cashed in…The price is sure to surge ahead into the 60s.

Remember who told you first.

The rate is expected to improve as the Thai central bank just cut interest rates.

The Bank of Thailand's monetary policy committee members voted 5-2 Wednesday to cut the one-day repurchase rate, the bank's benchmark interest rate, by 0.25 percentage point to 1.5%.

I don't know whether you caught the reaction to that ATLAS, or just missed it!

My usual reference, SCB TT rate finished up at 50.05875 yesterday.

(Edit: And is starting today at 50.3925 :party)

Last week I wanted to buy USD for my baht since it was 32.4. My plans changed and didn't want to carry too much cash. Now it's 33 and rising :(

Anyone noticed what the Aussie $ is getting?

Most western currencies have not gotten stronger. The baht has weakened. Good for Thailand and good for us.

Anyone noticed what the Aussie $ is getting?

Around 25.5 THB/AUD

For £ I saw 50.5 at TT last night,

I got 50.73 yesterday

That is pretty good considering what we were looking at 2-3 weeks ago.

Yep 50.05 yesterday and will probably stay at the for the next few days I reckon. I am finding it a lot more expensive here, especially when visiting gogos plus lady drinks. I blew 4000 baht in LK last night in about 3 hours and no bar fine either. Oh well som nam naa

I think the latest drop is ll about the pound rather than the Baht this time. "Pumped Up " plonker Dave looking less and less likely to get in again, and markets showing trepedation.

Poor UK manufacturing figures released on Friday too.

"The latest drop"?

The current trend shows the £ improving against the Baht, with the exchange rate being over 50 for the first time this year.

Got 50.11 from the booth at junction of soi buakhao and pattaya klang on sunday. Today the same place was 49.87. For comparison the TT booths were 50.05 and 49.80 at the same time.

The USD TT rate now at Bangkok Bank is 33.08 which is the best I've seen in ages.

I did a USD ATM withdrawal (no ATM fee) and just got 32.98...looking better indeed.

Can anyone currently relay the tt - money changers booth rate today? I just noticed on the Thai visa foreign exchange page the US dollar was at 33.42, for a VERY big jump in the last few days...??? Thank you for your time. Sam.
