Amazing how tolerant the Thais are, I fully expected somebody to give him a fat lip when watching that. Disgraceful to be that drunk and offend all and sundry.

I thought the Thais whose cars and motorbikes he aggressively attacked showed amazing restraint and tolerance, as you say.

I doubt he'd have been so lucky doing that in the busy night venues in NY or London.

Perhaps in NY or London he would have been arrested and removed.

I once saw one very similar in the departure lounge at the Bangkok airport.

I often wonder if they let him board.

Well, based on all the comments from the UK members on FB who responded to this video, he was going to get a beating if he did that to them. At least, that's what they said on Facebook. That takes care of the UK.

Seriously, do you think people would wait for the police to take care of this drunken fool? Remember, this is probably around 6am in an area where many of the people have been up all night drinking themselves.

I don't know, 6am not being my time to be out and about, but my guess is a vehicle owner may have given him a slap.

FB members are mostly 14 year old girls aren't they. :D

The locals were very tolerant in this case, but I don't think that is what generally happens. I once saw a guy get attacked for knocking a motorcycle helmet off a seat as he tried to squeeze through after exiting Nevada A-Go-Go. Intriguing how this guy was so well tolerated.

I think the impression that violence occurs is bolstered by the fact that mostly violent incidents are written about.

Situations where nothing happens are generally not of interest to anyone, so they aren't posted.

In other words, what generally happens is just what you saw in this video.

MM, what gave you the impression that this was taken around 6am? It looks a bit too light for that time, there is too much traffic and too many normal looking people around, no-one looks as though they are on the way back from a night out.

That said he's still lucky to come out of this unscathed, apart from a probable hangover.

tallguy, just my impression, as you said. What time of day do you think it was?

I just looked at it again with that in mind, tallguy, and you're probably right. It looks like dawn or dusk to me, and given their beach attire, which I thought was the result of a night of drinking and debauchery, it was probably just a day of drinking at the beach.

In other words, it was probably closer to 6pm?

Hi,

My dentist is Russian and he is a very nice chap. Plays classical music when he is working. Some of the East Europeans, including the Russians, can be a bit wild. Dont tar them all with the same brush, we have some of our own in EU/US.

I’m not sure if I am more offended by his state of inebriation or his state of undress.

The rule is that if you can’t see the beach then you need to put your shirt on...and pants.

Of course, the reaction from the Thais is good. They obviously don’t appreciate this kind of behaviour and any soi 6 ladyboy could take him out so it is amazing that he was allowed to get away with it.

The recent fracas on an Asia air flight where boiling water was thrown over a stewardess because a Chinese couple were forced to sit apart. The plane returned to BKK.

The couple got off lightly here but will be in trouble back home.

Here's a very honest Chinese take on themselves.

Here's a pair of Russians who are incredibly stupid...breaking into a temple to do damage and stealing a paltry 1000 baht.

And then...wait for it! Read the article below :P

Russian 'Temple Intruder' Stabs Policeman While In Custody

MAE HONG SON — One of the two Russian men who were arrested for breaking into a temple in northern Thailand on Sunday stabbed a police officer while in custody yesterday, police say.

The suspect, identified as Voge Vladimir (name transcribed from Thai text), was reportedly being led from his holding cell at Pai Police Station to the immigration department when he stabbed Lt. Prasert Puttawong across the head and wrist.

Police officers and the other suspect then tackled Vladimir and held him down, while Lt. Prasert was sent to hospital. Medical workers say his condition is “severe” but gradually improving.

Police say Vladimir’s knife was hidden beneath his clothes, and that officers failed to spot it when they searched him after his arrest on 14 December.

Vladimir and his accomplice, Kubik Kachchek (name transcribed from Thai text), were arrested on Sunday after they broke into a temple in the resort town of Pai. The temple's abbot told police the two suspects dressed up as monks, damaged property inside the temple compound, and stole 1,000 baht. Vladimr and Kubik tested positive for drug use upon their arrest, police say.

Pol.Col. Worapol Polmanee, superintendent of Pai Police Station, said the property damage and theft charges against the suspects were dropped after the temple abbot said he forgave the two men.

"We were waiting for the suspects' relatives to wire money from abroad to pay for damages at the temple," Pol.Col. Worapol said. "But then [Vladimir] used his knife to attack a police officer."

Vladimir is now facing an attempted murder charge and Kubrikwill be deported from Thailand, Pol.Col. Worapol said.

I doubt those Russians will be very popular among the inmates in a Thai prison.

Evil

I don't know. They may find them selves the centre of attraction if they are kept with the Thais in the cells, however, having been handed over to immigration these "quality tourists" may have avoided that notoriety.
