Yes, it would help.

Some places that I would recommend are

Pu Pen in Jomtien

Mum Aroi in Naklua though it is somewhat overrun with tour bus groups. Try it and see.

And, of course, you could try the places on Walking Street beach side (Nang Nual etc), though they tend to be overpriced and touristy.

This should take you to a listing of seafood restaurants in Pattaya on Tripadvisor. Caveat emptor with some of the ratings.

PuPen & Mum Aroi both excellent ...but can on occasion get seriously packed out

A wee trip south to Preecha or even Thale next door very good too

If you want to push the boat out a little and go up market Rimpa Lapin gets two thumbs up

But please, walking street seafood joints, always nought but a sad disappointment

I had a lobster dinner at the Pattaya Park tower with my lady a while back. We both felt ropey afterwards. When we awoke the next day we were in purgatory! She ate more than me so she suffered more I'm pleased to say. About a week later they had to call the emergency services to care for a full sitting that went down with food poisoning. They blamed a problem with their suppliers and ordered an investigation. Too late methinks. PPT is a fairly high end place so my policy since has been to avoid sea food period. Hope this helps...

The popular places listed above are excellent...

But let me throw in a different one... Ninja...

The seafood selection is pretty good and it is all you can eat... All the usual thai seafood and shellfish from whole fish, thai rock lobsters, prawns, shrimps, muscles, multiple types of clams, crabs, etc

This is in addition to the normal thai bbq and prepared food selection normally available...

At 400b... it beats out the 1-2k you'll be shelling out (see what I did there lol) at the seafood places...

Downside (if you consider this a down side...) you'll have to cook it yourself... (but I think they will cook it for you @ 40b/plate)...

Some are dubious concerning the product... but with Thai's it moves fast... which is important if you are concerned with spoilage...

Now compare this to those "King Lobsters, etc" on display which have been dead and rotting all day at the WS seafood places... *shudder*

Best advice I have had has been "Not to touch those bunches of prawns being steamed on a mobile food cart that travels around the Sois". Many years ago when I had a bar, a married couple friends of mine bought a couple of bunches of these at the bar. My missus at the time grabbed them off of the pair and threw them in the bin! By the time they reach that particular point of sale they are far too old, according to the Thais. Co-incidentally ( or was it :clueless ) the bar cat was found dead the next morning :yikes:

I have often felt the same about those being hawked on the Beach too.

Coming with sand on windy days.

What's the difference between crabs and lobsters...............

Crabs walk sideways............ :D

I know it's corny , but it made me smile.....

Crabs itch, lobsters pinch!

Been to the seafood restaurant on corner of 2nd Road and Soi Skaw Beach Hotel many times (but not for the last two years) - always been good but has gone a bit upmarket since 2005. Think its better value than Walking Street. Worth a go.

Just my 5 baht worth !

I tried this place called Amporn Seafood on third road. https://www.wongnai.com/articles/amporn-seafood-buffet?

Heading from Pattaya Klang, it's on the right, not too far before the traffic light at the road that goes to Hollywood Disco.

It's a 399 buffet including soft drinks and draft Heineken for 90 minutes. Each table has a grill where you cook your own food, but it's a grill, not the moo krata style pan. And even though it is a seafood place, they do have some regular meat options.

I only tried it once, but I enjoyed it and would return.

Is Pu Pen on the baht bus route?

No, the baht buses stop short of Pu Pen, but it isn't an impossible walk. You can also bargain with the driver to take you the rest of the way.

That must be J Daeng. You can read more about it here.

I've always found the food at Marine Seafood on Soi Lucky Star just off WS a dependable option. It's open between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. If you want a quick seafood meal, then Govit Seafood, a pop-up eatery on Soi 15 between WS and Sapphire is OK.

There's also a Thai-style "food court" on Pattaya Klang between 2nd Road and Soi Bukhao which has many reasonably priced seafood options.
