I'd just like to say that I like the Windmill Club too. It's really good.

Think about it this way. The rear entrance to the Areca is only 5 minutes from the Villa supermarket and a very good wine shop. It is always handy to have places like this on your door step.

Oh, I did not know about the wine shop. I will be sure to visit it!

I looked it up. I have been by it so many times.

I'm wrong!

It isn't blocked but it is a dirt track which today had a 2m puddle, amongst other smaller puddles, stretching accross the track....somewhat resembling a farm track without the cow shit..

Lovely hotel though! but I couldn't check a room because there were about 30 or so people checking in who had bizarelly walked in from Second road dragging their suitcases....No idea why..

2m wide or deep?

2m wide or deep?

It might have been both...but I meant from this side to the other side looking at it front to back in an Easterly direction. When I had cirumnavigated it the new this side to the new otherside from the new front to the new back in a Westerly direction it was still 2m..

Having booked the Areca, how do I know which side I register at? My understanding is that if you are at the back building you arrive and register there?

Booked my flight.

The cost of cancelling my cheap ticket is so severe that only death or hospitalization will prevent me from going in January.

woot

The back building of the Areca is the Evergreen block so if that is the one you have booked you will enter from soi 15, if it is either of the other two it will be from soi Diana.

So you found the swimming pool, but not as you expected.

My 2 weeks at Areca in Evergreen wing went well, i find some of the staff are not that friendly, rooms are great for the price, internet SUCKED BIG TIME,complaining to the reception staff

was a waste of time.

Swimming pool was very good and very clean, menu meals average at best, free Breakfast very good, there coffee is shit, wont stay there again, to far from walking street.

They have a Barbecue cook up out side at night next to the bar on the street very cheap, spotlessly clean and good quality, i ate there most nights, best food value at the Hotel.

i rate the Hotel 7/10.

I had to pay 1170 for last minute reservations. They ask for a thousand baht deposit for damages. Very quite rooms, clean, great water pressure, front desk that was actually studying english when not busy with customers. Had a Russian mid twenties guy that ruined breakfast for me, not the hotels fault, he was coughing on all the food, I think on purpose not covering his mouth at all. I had my coffee and didn't eat anything. Easy to get to from Soi Buakhoa too, just down/up the dirt road next to the bar complex that didn't do so well.

On my short visit I thought the dining area was very clean but thought that if the 30 or so people checking in all went at the same time there would be insufficient seating...with perhaps overspill into the bar area which was also very clean.... Other points worth a mention:- There was a record deck with some old LPs which looked as if it still played and 3 or 4 internet stations in the bar area...
