Any Updates on Inn House on Soi 13?

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks.

I noticed that there is just one review for the Inn House on Soi 13. Have any members stayed there recently? If so - what were your thoughts?

I used to stay at the Haven Hotel but am looking for a change - still prefer staying in Soi 13 due to its central location.

I know that a lot of members like the Sandy Springs but I do not like that you have to pay for the entire trip up front. I prefer some flexibility on case I have to change plans.

Thanks in advance for any information.

I stayed at the Inn in March and have stayed at the haven a few years back. The Inn was for me the better option. When you book ask for a seaview room on 4th floor and above- these rooms have a great view and a small balcony with chairs. The bathroom has good water pressure and good temperature control. Both the satellite TV and the AC have remote controls. Rooms are a good size and kept spotless by daily cleaning ( 50 baht to the cleaners every few days guarantees plenty of clean towels). The hotel is generally quiet and does not have the noise problem of the Haven with its thin walls. On the roof is a jacuzzi type small pool and about 6 sun beds - also a telephone to order food and drink - this pool is hardly used however it is a nice spot with a fabuluous view. No in room safes but reception is very efficient and friendly. Breakfast is available at a small cafe at the Hotel entrance - I didnt have breakfast there but did have some excellent thai snacks during the day. Immediately opposite the Hotel is the Sportsman - excellent breakfast and burgers. Hotel has a good lift. Overall very good and from the reviews Sandy Spring and Dynasty make plenty of competition on Soi 13 - so I expect standards will stay high.

Dynasty Inn.....soi 13, across the soi from the Lek hotel and just down from the Haven and Sandy Springs. Very nice new hotel, see reviews and threads. My current favorite.

Is this Inn House the Dynasty Inn or another hotel ?

Someone mentioned they had stayed there several years ago, and I know the Dynasty Inn was only built last year...

Will be checking it out (Dyn Inn) in a few days :P

  • 3 weeks later...

I just added a review on the Inn House as well. I stayed there for 2 1/2 weeks in May/June 2004. No it's not the Dynasty. It's half way between Beach Rd and 2nd Rd on the north side of the road, next to Ma Maison Hotel.

I stayed at Sandy Spring in March and didn't pay anything until I checked out.

Who did you make the booking with?

I was staying at another hotel on Soi 13 and basically walked into the Sandy Spring Hotel. I was not happy with the hotel that I was staying in. After making the reservation with the front desk, I was told that I had to leave a deposit and pay the rest after checking in.

Hello Kingfisher,

I booked the Sandy Springs through Erik at the Scandibar several weeks ago for my upcoming July trip.

I emailed him a few days ago to cancel due to the current construction noise and there were no problems.

I will use the scandi bar service again when Soi 13 isa bit quieter.

Here is a link to their website

Well I need a room for a month so I emailed them, twice. Here are my replys.

> Dear,-----

> Thanks you very much for your interesting in Innhouse.

> In August i think construction near finish small sound.

> No make more noise. Please confirm so that we'll arrange

> a room for you.

> Best regards

> Tukta

That was the first email when I asked about the noise, then I asked about the rates for weekly and monthly rates in august/september.

Mr writes:

Dear ,Mr.-----

We have room 4 kind:

1.Singel room 3600/week, 11,200/month

2.Seaview or Deluxe room 4800/week, 13200/month

3.Suite 6000/week,16800/month

4.Seaview suite room 7600/week, 18800/month

This rate is 20% off the ordinary rate.

This rate include cleaning twice a week but not include electric and water.

Electric charge 6 baht per unit

Water charge 25 baht per unit

Sargo,

I stayed at the Inn House last August and took one of their rate sheets. The rates then for April-September were:

3,500/10,500

4,500/11,900

5,500/15,000

7,000/17,500

The cleaning was everyday with bed linen changed twice a week and the utilities charges only applied to the monthly rate.

It appears they have raised their prices.

Well, the Glasses I got are spot on, just the usual adjustment to a new pair to be made.

Only problem is the transitional lenses do not go very dark at all, even in strong light. Defeats the purpose of having them when the girls on your Bhatbus can see you checking them out

I should have just got dark lenses...

However the other spare pair are very good and I also ended up getting some contacts (daily) for just over 500bt a box of 18 pairs. They are good also.

So pretty happy overall

Emil,

The 6k for the suite is what I paid in May as well per week. Haggled a good long time and she wasn't gonna budge off that price. Got that fatal thai girl "can not".

Two days ago I wrote to them as well inquiring about the construction on Soi 13 and I got the same "form letter" Sargo:

"Dear,Mr.Steve

Thanks you very much for interesting to stay in Innhouse again.

In October i think construction near finish and small sound.

No make more noise. Please confirm so that we'll arrange a room for you.

Best regards

Tukta"

Jeez, you think they are getting some cancellations because of the noise perhaps? I smell a bargain!

Steve,

I thought you told me that you had a seaview suite. Anyway if you can get the same rate that will be good because on the rate sheet I have the prices jump on October. Between the noise and other hotels coming on line, you should get a good rate.

Emil,

It was 4th floor and I had about 30 degrees of the horizon where I could see the ocean, yes. They didn't call it seaview and I would say they were likely best calling it a standard suite.

Just sent my buddy Tukta an e-mail and we'll see what she offers. I told her I was expecting the same rate, so we'll see....?

Take care,

Steve

Mark,

When I was there last August, they were only charging for utilities on monthly stays. I asked for a seaview deluxe (4500), they didn't have any vacancies so they put me in a seaview suite but shut off the adjoining room which was the living area and bathroom. In other words the suite is just 2 rooms with an adjoining door. I thought it was an ok room, about the size of the Eastiny Place, the reason I only stayed for a week instead of a month was because they didn't have a pool.
