  1. Beds in Sabai inn are actually two queen size pushed together so are huge, plenty of room for fun, although as usual a little hard.
  2. I would have stayed there again in May but old wing was being renovated so no stay 14 pay 10 offer on. Does this mean the old wing is now the new wing and vice versa-confusing,wonder if the rates have also changed.
  3. You should have checked out going with Etihad or Qatar and looked for a budget carrier down to Manchester or London, plenty of options these days.
  4. I had a tour of the hotel in June, great location but I wasn't impressed by the rooms, cheap looking fixtures and there were big cracks in the walls, not good as it had only been open a year,I was quoted 980 baht for standard room including breakfast. Also I don't think the pool would get any sun in the afternoon.
  5. I found this place last year when I was staying in Soi 7,good breakfast as mentioned although I usually added extra to the 50 baht option, but also does excellent value, well presented evening meals, usually a singer as well serenading the diners. Also handy for checking out the bars over the road-I picked out one cutie and went over and took her for the night!
  6. Forget about them-plenty of good value places around with all the facilties you need for a good holiday and no joiner fee.
  7. I brought forward my return date last month by a couple of days when I was in Pattaya, phoned ticket office at airport, knew it would cost £50. When I got to airport I told them of flight change on check in and she held my seat as had to go upstairs to ticket office, pay the charge in baht as won't accept sterling, but will take credit card. They give you receipt which you take back to person you checked in with and they then give you boarding cards, all pretty painless and a useful concession if you need to change your return flight-I flew back to Manchester.
  8. Last time I stayed there the breakfast was about 400 baht-honest!
  9. Qatar have a pretty good offer on, flying out up to end of November. Went with Etihad last month,Qatar are about £30 cheaper then, never used them before.Would be travelling from Manchester,A330-200 used on both legs. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has travelled with them recently regarding service, food, entertainment etc and how you would compare them with Etihad and Emirates.Cheers.
  10. I personally think Soi 13 has become too built up now,and still more building going on. While places like Whitehouse,Dynasty etc look nice inside and out, rooms down either side of buildings, whilst having balconies, have absolutely no view as they face balconies of hotel next door about 20 ft away,so no privacy either.
  11. Why stay in a dump like the Apex when there are plenty of good places for around 700 a night,I stayed last month in Sabai Inn for that price, nice big room, huge bed, good furniture, electronic in room safe and use of lovely pool over the road in Sabai Lodge.
  12. Flew last month with them from Manchester, stopover in Abu Dhabi too long,3 hours on the way as plane was early, and 2 hours coming back, really not much to do there. All flights were pretty empty so had row to myself each leg, otherwise I would have found it a bit cramped as I have long legs and the damn footrest gets in the way as I have no use for it. But I think as a comparison with Emirates, provided they maintain the big price difference,I would continue to book with them as I prefer their flight times, and food, entertainment and service is comparable. I am tempted for a return visit before Xmas as £400 is current price with Etihad for flights in December!
  13. If you want to stay in North Pattaya, would recommend BJ Lodge on Soi 3,just stayed there,1000 a night, only open a year, nice rooms, nice pool,in room safe, good breakfast for 55 baht,no charge for guests, and easy baht bus ride to Soi 7/8,or on to Walking Street.
  14. Bars never closed but there was one day(may have beeen Friday) when all the girls including on Soi 6 wore the yellow t-shirts and candles were lit on the bars. I was glad that was only for one day as no sexy outfits on display!
  15. Just stayed at BJ Lodge on Soi 3,lovely soft bed and pillows, only open less than a year and you can tell the beds are new,a nice change from the usual hard Thai beds.
  16. I used Mr Toom's service Bangkok to Pattaya 21st May,and although I was last out through Customs,my driver was waiting(although had gone walkabout looking for me). I didn't use the return service as it is so easy to book a taxi for 800 baht when you are in Pattaya, never been let down.
  17. Just got back from Pattaya and was shown around the hotel as was considering staying there, only a couple of floors were open, was quoted 999 baht, rooms were finished to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings, very nice bathroom with separate shower, roof top pool was nice. Soi 14 is a strange place for a quality hotel as it is basically a dirt road. The 300 baht joiner fee would apply to your girl the first night but not subsequent nights, however every time you take a new girl, the 300 baht charge applies again-I kid you not!
  18. Just got back from Pattaya, stayed for two weeks at Sabai Inn and was surprised to find a good size electronic safe in standard 700 baht rooms, spent third week in BJ Lodge on Soi 3 for 1000 baht, had smaller but adequate safe.I must say I found having an in-room safe very convenient and would in future only look to stay in hotel that provided them,so much more convenient when bringing a girl back to be able to stash everything away til morning.
  19. 700 baht rate for standard room available through their website, superior 850 baht, would suggest you email and request internet rate or you will cancel booking,I presume you are not mixing up Sabai Inn with Sabai Lodge across the road. www.sabaiinn.com
  20. See post on General Discussions forum for mention of this hotel and link to website.I have emailed them to check a few things as will be over there in a couple of weeks and may look to stay there.
  21. Cheers, Timhotel sounds interesting and good promo price if swimming pool is finished, not bothered if restaurant etc not ready.Have emailed them to confirm a few things as I may look to stay there when I arrive in 2 weeks Email got bounced back, I presume as website not really live as stating hotel open soon, will just have to check it out in person when I get there.
  22. I've booked a room there for 3 nights at 700 baht for when I arrive there in a couple of weeks.Never stayed there before, intend to move on further central but may stay a few more nights if I like the place, will try to ensure I get a room with outside window. Been past there loads of times,it has a very nice looking foyer.
  23. I have never been let down yet when booking a taxi,in fact the guy waiting for me always seems to be right at the front with my name on a card.Have booked Mr Toom for when I arrive in a couple of weeks and don't have any worries about a no show.
  24. The news made the English papers as well, one paper referred to Pattaya as "sleazy massage parlour resort",not far off the mark really!!
  25. Looks as if baht could hit 70 to the pound any day now-showing at 69.25 on Bangkok Bank site-happy days are here again-especially as I will be over there in 2 weeks, hope it holds till then!
