This one is a million miles from all the other TV series and films you guys are recommending. Anyone with a big wet soft spot for pets, particularly dogs, might enjoy a damp eye. It is about the veterinary practice of Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, in the UK, and called The Supervet. Episodes are repetitive but some may enjoy a few of them.... There is even a website.

Or not bother going to bed,

Just like the buffets eh! Never got the chance to meet him but all the feedback on meet-ups belied his board behaviour and many spoke positively. The last time he was in town I was away and he cancelled a proposed trip.

BA to become 'Airline of Choice'!? BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
jacko replied to Goldpanner's topic in Airline Discussion
Coincidentally wrt BA.... BA Plummets Out Of The UK's Top 20 Brands Table. Lego wins it! Last year's winner British Airways, meanwhile, plunged, falling out of the top 20 - following a year in which it was forced to cancel hundreds of flights, affecting tens of thousands of passengers, after a major IT failure. Glasses should be avoided and perhaps optics installed!

BA to become 'Airline of Choice'!? BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yes I see now thanks. Hard work from the window seat to get to the bathroom! Evacuation must be slower too. I couldn't find whether the ER versions will get this configuration, but what an uncomfortable thought. -

The pics showed 8 abreast I see. So are we going to 3-4-3? -
Still 1200 with Mr Toom.

Well they don't offer the limo but in the mid afternoon in summer the train is fine to Manchester airport. M60 has its issues.
-
That seems like a very good price... so good I have to ask is it round trip! Emirates via Swampy coming in at over 100,000! My last year Qatar leg from Manchester on the 787 was fine. Any special codes for that price?
-
Presumably the aircraft was late arriving in BKK from another route earlier. Just intrigued as to why this recurrent excessive delay is happening.
-
I see they have a lounge in Swampy too.

I think it is more to do with what the crew set it at! You can't please everyone and the crew, being busy one hopes, probably want the place cooler. Personally I much prefer the A380 to the 777, smoother, quieter, and certainly feeling more spacious. Especially when enjoying cocktails and snacks in the bar!

Is it that straightforward? There is a lot more competition from Manchester these days, with all major European and 4 Middle East carriers able to fly on to Bangkok? Nothing direct of course. I once heard a rumour that the loss of BA business of flying people up from London had to be offset by a penalty of higher fares.

KFC off my list for a spell. They have refitted the one in Tesco/Lotus North Rd... and I have sometimes grabbed some lunch there after shopping, so I popped in. Can't say I find the new look very welcoming. Nor could I read the menus on the wall as I looked for my usual sandwich. So in Thai, I asked for an English Menu card. No have was the reply. Surprising really, it is like saying tourists not welcome in a major tourist town! I was going off them anyhow, seeing all those piled up plates of gnawed old bones and so much open-mouthed chewing used to kill my appetite. (Lumps of bone and gristle wrapped up in shit and deep fried, was what Ben Elton called it).

True, I know people who own several condos and having them empty doesn't seem to faze them. The expenses are peanuts with no property taxes to worry over.
-
£370, wow that is cheap. Direct with the airline or with an agent?
-
Excellent, but way beyond coincidental!

My licences are due for renewal in a few months and I was expecting a straightforward if arduous and dull, experience. What I have read here was to be my guide. Reading a thread on Thaivisa today I read I MAY need a few more unexpected items. 1) To obtain a residence certificate from immigration, I will need a TM30 receipt slip.... I have never submitted a TM30 in my 12+ years here! 2) Starting in March (tomorrow), a new style medical certificate will be required for new and renewal applications. Anybody know more of this?

The construction seems to have slowed down, my reason for thinking this is simplistic, all the floor space in the Malls isn't taken up by people hawking condos as it was a few years back! Whether Pattaya property will pick up in price is hard to say, the place does keep expanding and the Chinese rush is on the cards. But when I take a serious look at Pattaya and it's infrastructure and the downright decrepit appearance of most of it's streets and transport limitations I wonder why! If it is a matter of 'somewhere to live', renting should be considered. Rents are cheap relative to new condo prices. The old adage about you paying someone else's mortgage really doesn't apply if you don't expect to live a lot longer. ie an older retired person could rent for 20 years for the lump sum he pays out to buy.... leaving a Thai condo to a distant USA relative isn't as good as the cash! Renting may also be more attractive to the renter in the future with tighter controls and contracts. New laws provide greater protection for people who rent property in Thailand. Property News

To me it is the rectum of the city but traffic was impeded by a fallen tree today that in reality was struggling to survive in an area where green is normally seen in the gutter, This is the soi 15 and Buakhao junction. Finding shade and hearing the birds just got harder.

How to make a donation for the boards server fund
jacko replied to frostfire's topic in == Announcements ==
I did see a field where you could enter it, but you are not prompted or forced through it. Then after I completed my browser came back with an error message gobbledygook screen.. but I got a Paypal message saying it had gone through. -
Had satisfied feedback from people who flew both Economy and Biz Class. I think the transit airport in Muscat is 'underwhelming' but hardly surprising if you compare to the competition at Dubai or Doha. Sounds like a deal.
