  1. Upgraded to 17.3 myself last night.
  2. The cycling will be down Soi 13/3, (Pattayaland 1) and will cause great amusement to those on barstools in the Sugar Shack.
  3. Would that not also be the case had you both paid in cash?
  4. Well it was just a scattering of stones into the holes as far as I can see and that isn't going to last!
  5. Looks OK on Google Maps, handy for Police Station and Central Festival Beach Rd Mall.
  6. I also drove through there again last night, looks like the resurfacing has started as there was a layer of tarmac down. Traffic at that point was heavy going and slow but I think that was due to a Nakhonchai bus maneuvering into the bus station. Although it helped me last night, I also realized there will still be ruddy great coaches making U-Turns just South of there as most want to get to places just South of Klang on the other side.
  7. Yes, there is a few matters of surfacing to be addressed. I tried to get onto Sukhumvit via the side road between Numchai and The Bangkok Bank and needed to give the engine a good bit of throttle, it could best be described as a ditch!
  8. I am sure a rented condo is just as flammable!
  9. It is some time ago but I bought a laptop and it came with a Genuine Windows licence, I also paid for Office, a legit copy. Some of the other 'free' crap on there was infected with viruses so get your computer scanned quick. Don't forget, if you cannot perform OS updates, you are vulnerable to new nasty stuff, like the Wannacry ransomware. Many many computers are sold here with pirated Windows.
  10. That will make a difference... can't take your eyes off the potholes normally so eyeing up service girls is very difficult. Even tried parking the bike (that ain't easy, everyone lays claim to the street parking) and walked recently, that is also difficult when the potholes are filled with water. Trouble is, when and if it becomes a smooth well surfaced road, it will also become a thoroughfare for large coaches full of Chinese heading to the shopping Malls or Beach, and may even become part of their tour route!
  11. Sorry but I am still partaking of the beer.
  12. George, I have removed your other exact same post elsewhere. Koh :Larn has become a daily destination for large groups of Chinese now, there are alternatives further afield you might prefer. Don't worry, the police do this sort of thing periodically. but it is very rare for tourists to be hassled. No way would I describe it as becoming tough for the tourists.
  13. Strikes me that immigration would be glad to collect a load of 2000 baht fines although not be keen to leave their comfy office! Many condo buildings have a small office which facilitates rentals and takes a commission on them, and I know for sure that rentals under 6 months term are included. Putting a search into Airbnb produces a plethora of Pattaya short term condo rentals.
  14. Rainy season weather, wake up to showers and rumbling skies.

  15. I was once in a curt mood and someone had left a burning cigarette in an ashtray under my nose, so I poured a bit of beer on it.
  16. Was it also testosterone and alcohol based!
  17. Ahhh, some proper rain.... lovely.

  18. Yes I saw this offer in my Inbox today. Not familiar with Qatar beyond the airport, but is there anything to see or do there? I see it a bit like Bahrain, which I am very familiar with, and really see no reason to visit again unless flight routing force me. This as one of the conditions that will apply for Economy Class tickets.. Offer is valid for flights booked with Qatar Airways on qatarairways.com with Multi-city ticket booking. What does Multi-City ticket booking mean (surely all bookings involve more than one city)........? Qatar come up with some of the cheapest Economy flights from UK-BKK and I would be surprised they could chuck in a 4 star hotel too! Those Biz Class fares are also great deals.
  19. I gave it a go yesterday in the Thai afternoon for Channel 4, it was aggravating. Spells where it froze and restarted frequently. The sound track also went way out of sync a few times and seemed to be in a loop! Although ITV3 played well via Kodi-Add On 'ITV' Later Edit: That link (post #4) was now asking me to 'Register' which requires an email.......
  20. I rode through it both on Sunday and yesterday. Invalid bridge notwithstanding..... Tunnel is not open in either direction, traffic is still impeded by work in both directions. North bound flow, which had been moving well last week, was tailed back on a quiet Sunday, as where the traffic is pushed over to the left by closure of a right lane, some small works was impeding traffic on the left at exactly the same place... good one guys. nevertheless work was ongoing. It was again difficult to get across a few lanes of traffic to get onto the motorway flyover heading North. A stiff neck did not help! Soi Siam CC traffic lights, when working, may make that easier, as well as giving that option to get to the Railway line bypass Rd. I am guessing, when opened to much fanfare whenever, things will look rather wonderful to drivers. If only relative to the hell it has been for 3 years, rather than how bad it was before they broke ground with a shovel.
  21. It makes sense to ensure she has the financial capacity to see probate through, ie there is a will and she has some money available. She will need to engage a lawyer who can sort out the probate and get the court order to release bank accounts to her. One item that may help is a to find a lawyer with integrity, many lack it.
  22. And about where I spotted one of the jet ski scammers today, guiding a truck and few trailers towards the beach. Still going...?
  23. This place was recommended to me some years ago, and as you say he was very much in demand. I was given an appointment with him but it was unsuitable for me so I rejected it, was given another, and went on my way. It was only later I noticed it was with a different guy. As I had been very specific, I cancelled that and looked elsewhere.
  24. Was introduced to this but haven't used it much yet.
  25. I see http://www.watchfreeview.com/, who use FilmOn.com want $149 a year now. Most of the Add-Ons on my Kodi Player also use this source so they have gone away. That cost would obviously go on top of my ISP monthly charge, and you can add that to my VPN cost! (A VPN which sometimes does. and sometimes doesn't, work) And, if I do finds a way to watch some UK streamed TV it will almost certainly slow to a crawl on a Saturday night, as I found out last night as I couldn't watch Selby finish off Higgins after watching 32 prior frames! Spend more time searching for feeds and getting them to work recently.
