  1. Strong sun and heat expected.

  2. I am glad you posted personal experience losgrad. I was in town yesterday and I spotted a few guys riding push bikes around (maybe you) and it made me think a bit..... I don't see it as any more dangerous than a motorbike, particularly around central Pattaya/beach rd etc. Of course NOT Sukhumvit, There aren't dog packs on Beach rd or Klang. And as to a night out, well of course, like a motorbike, it should be left at home. My missus wanted one to go to the nearby market, so in the rural areas it can work too. She takes a route away from the dog packs. Funny that, when Thailand was poor you never saw one, but they are common these days, I see packs of riders heading up the Railway line bypass quite often.
  3. When are you coming? I wouldn't live budget in April/May. The advert wall in the BIgC-X Mall.
  4. Doesn't matter... Danny Glover.
  5. I would have put it on my phone but I guess Kev and Frosty have more money than me.
  6. Charlie's Angels
  7. If any off the cell phones were able to ping a network, it is extremely likely that the whereabouts would be known. Of course that is not going to happen at 35,000 ft nor in the middle of the ocean.
  8. It is stated in the second sentence of the provided link...... more accurately.
  9. Quite a lot of the cheaper Economy Class tickets offer reduced or perhaps even no airmiles ex Europe. I also think there is quite a difference on how it works with the US Carriers and US based guys... better deals there. Sure if you fly a lot with your work you can do real well, but I don't, that also means I really don't use a Credit Card that often for big ticket items... a First Class ticket I bought last year was too much for all but my Amex... no miles! As I pay for my own air-tickets I would rather save £200 than limit myself to a more expensive carrier just for the mileage.... I struggle to make them one and the same. And I only fly long-haul 2 times a year round trip these days... so I tend to focus on price.
  10. There seems to be more focus on the pilot today and his support of Anwar Ibrahim who was recently convicted by the Malaysian 'Courts'.
  11. Yes I do live here.
  12. A lot have expired for me, so they were worthless. And the value of them decreases frequently. What use is a one way trip if you need to get back. Availability of mileage tickets... well it is quite poor, I rarely find anything that fits. Perhaps the USA carriers do better. But they don't in the cabin, I was once given a plastic cup of Pepsi and some peanuts, pathetic!.
  13. The assumed flight path I saw, indicated Southern Thailand was overflown too. And it may have flown close to Phuket........ and not too far from Haad Yai, both International Airports.
  14. Is that the shop on Second Rd just before the Dolphin restaurant.
  15. Yeah, Bush, now it's Obama........
  16. Are you renting the place long term? First check with the building management, some do not allow you to fit items like this as the strong wind can rip them free and suddenly you have a deadly projectile. I have fitted bamboo roller blinds (also another type where the blind has a concertina effect to retract it), which keep the sun off my window in the morning and terrace in the afternoon. I bought them from a place on Sawang Fah, on the left just before you reach Naklua Rd. If you turn left there, at NumChai heading towards Dolphin, about 200m just after the RED booze shop, there is a curtain store that also sells various blinds. Here Google Maps.
  17. Yeah well in the 'Western World ' 3 out of 4 aircraft achieved their targets and NONE of them was blown out of the sky. If data was being received from the Engines 5 hours after the transponders went off, and presuming that data indicates 'in flight', the aircraft was pretty close to it's limits fuel wise.
  18. Cloudy and thunder yesterday but remains dry here.

  19. Cloudy and thunder yesterday but reamins dry here.

  20. Keeping Mum
  21. Considering the location I think this is reasonable. And the style would also suit US palates too. His cook learned to make UK-style Chinese food, in the UK, so it is an honest claim. So many variations of 'Chinese Food' within China! Some authentic items I can pass on!
  22. let us go back to Mai Zetterling and after 24hr+ The Witches.
  23. Yes I agree although I might add a couple more of the large cities to that list. Although you have to take some regard of the heavy industrial traffic between the Industrial areas and the Port at Laem Chabang. Hwy 7 can be quite bad, the trucks have left it like a roller coaster. OP I don't think finding a driver for a few weeks will be too hard. Good luck with your new job.
  24. The MU/Liverpool game is on one of the Thai channels tonight so I have booked the TV!
