  3. I don't think it is that bad... Dr Mick seems to have made a meal of it. It is certainly easier (and cheaper) with the 800k in the bank. Khon Khaen sound a little more stringent. Easier for a 50+yo Brit to get a retirement extension in LOS than a 35yo TG to get a UK tourist visa.
  4. Is that all it is? I have parked in the Avenue and there I am sure it was over 100 baht for a few hours. It's a pity, but in the evenings, getting from Sukhumvit to the RG in a truck takes so long... either Pattaya Tai or Buakhao to take on. I often park in Carrefour and get on a bike when alone. Thanks for the effort MM, I think I shall take a look at that place when I am next on the razzle... I get the TGF to drop me off!
  5. Well I might agree we make the best breakfasts, and the UK (particularly Brum) are becoming world famous for the curries. Wow MM, I never knew there was a restaurant up there, but it is a new area and I think I have only ever walked through it once. But pay for parking......brrrrr
  6. Good Kudos there... £180 pounds saved... a couple of soapies and a few free nights out there.
  7. The Matrix.
  8. Hardly surprising with current events in the ME, and the financial instability there. The Dubai FM has fallen from 1600 to 1375 in the last couple of weeks. The same company cancelled 32 Boeing plane orders last month.... Oil prices are going the wrong way for the Aircraft industry... expect more. Edit...last month not last year!
  9. Agreed, you used it to point out an Indian restaurant to me and I used it as a research tool to confirm the name of another. It certainly shows how things have built up over the intervening 2-3 years. I suppose it is the same as Google Maps where you can pretty much look at any UK street.
  10. Yes I have used that place, but many years ago and agree on the 'pricey'...I have been in Ali Baba (opposite Tops) quite a few times and found it quite good... but I preferred eating it when the place next door served it (English pub called Oliver Twist, gone now.) There are a couple in that alley that runs opposite Mikes Shopping Mall, from 2nd and you can cut through to Soi Diana... Little India (not very good) and there is another near to that which I have never tried. I know there was one on Soi PO (Ahaar Indian) but I think that has closed it's doors too. I also recall there was a place on Pattaya Land 2 (same st as New Orleans). Of course plenty of Indian/ Arabic food can be found in the Arab Quarter, around where Soi 16 comes to Phratamnac, including the Kotinoor, more towards the hill, I have never forgiven them for poisoning me once back in 1993... Living out of town makes it difficult to go out for a meal, I really don't want to take on the ever deteriorating traffic situation and parking problems.
  11. Check the zipper.
  12. I Love You to Death.
  13. I think I shall put the TV on, highlight of my day watching Glen Beck. Oh, it's Bill..... nearly as good.
  14. Trust you to put a spin on it.
  15. So you DO have something to discuss?
  16. Some falang twat nearly mowed me down there as I crossed last night. I checked out of there this am... no such incidence although they did take their time. There is a long list of room items in the room with the price in the event of damage or theft. , they even wanted payment plus a deposit up front. A sad fact of the times... probably those English towel and q-tip stealers who have 1500 tiny bottles of shampoo at home. (Just read the above post, apparently Oz guys steal towels too.. ) Had similar shit at a Korat hotel I regularly used, some stain on the hotel towel and they were planning to charge me 1000 baht and keep the original. Fortunately I was not in a hurry and showed them how shaving gel can be rinsed off and that place gets the jacko fuck off now. Still rate the Areca as quite good though.... Where was the towel by the way....
  17. Sometimes they have a password...... like the name of the hotel.Often they are just open (unsecure)....
  18. yeah right... lost your telephone lately.
  19. I think you would be a bit of a mug if you bought shoes that did not fit..... But in a swipe you have eliminated the whole concept of public free speech and witty letters to the editor.
  20. Pretty slick way of getting your attention eh?
  21. I tried it last night...Well thanks for the advice, but afraid not impressed. The place is a dump, the food took ages and wasn't all that good... the papadums were soggy. Cheap though....
  22. Chaz Paminteri
  23. Well thanks for that, I might pop in soon and give it a try.Not the place to go with a few friends and a car/truck though...
