It is pretty easy to recognoze the power cables, they are also (usually) higher up the poles. The home level voltage ones are insulated cables too, although I would not be wanting to handle them. On the pics it lookes like HV cables are there running at the very top.... with the pot insulators. Need to steer well clear of those. Not a great deal of improvement for their efforts there, a couple of years and you can bet they will all be back and then some. 5G is supposed to eliminate the need for all these eventually, but we will still need power cables. Key the 2021 project, burying those down soi Buakhao, followed by a drainage project soon after.

Very sad.... the hoops required to jump through to return to Thailand are not simple, the numbers limited, and priority is given to returning Thais. Behind many tale is maybe a guy separated from his wife and kids. People who have loved ones who are unwell and need help, I know of cases where people could not attend funerals of parents.

I retired early.... but it was more about wanting to get out of a job I did not particularly enjoy, and giving myself a well earned break. I never went back! My decision may also have been prompted by the early death of my father and believing it a bitter pill if one never enjoys any retirement in life. I do not have dependents, for many that would keep them in work. Now I look back I doubt there would have been any going back, as I am lazy.

There was one at the 7-11 near my place in Nong Plalai, big bugger but quite tame. Would wait for someone stopping to shop after being at the village market and wander over and help itself to vegetables in the bike basket. A few times I waited to see what happened when the owner came out, worth a giggle. I wonder if a few tables and chairs will arrive and turn that car-park into an early drinkers bar, and competition for the GC's further up!

Yes I took a look yesterday as I was passing that way (and avoiding the long tail-backs at the 3rd Rd and Klang junction), but decided not to take any pics and steal your thunder! Actually on the corner turning off Bongkhot 8 onto Arunothai I was pretty confused as to where the road was and what bit is the 7-11 parking. I expect soon they will be bringing in the food carts, a dog laying across the entrance, and the usual accompaniments of 7-11s.

Last time I was that way, Lake Maprachan looked like marshland. Quite a nice looking green area actually.... but not much of a lake.

This morning the rate is 41.09... but for £1k, with charges, it is still 40.8. I am sitting around for 41 including charges.

How about Brussels Sprouts... the only place I see those is Villa and quite a price they are too? What can I say, they are my favourite veg, always bring back memories of my mum's Christmas dinner after getting back from the pub with my dad and brother! You probably can't get a Visa from a consulate, but for sure the required CofE will be from the Embassy in London. Haven't read many reports of the process for a non-Thai to get one, but they should start soon as those with Thai wives can apply now.

You can see the protective cling film that is used after a real Tat is done, so I suspect they are real. Rather an ugly show of 'their bodies are mine to use as I see fit' I thought.
