Is that book shop and stationers still operating on the South side of Soi Post Office?

I saw a post recently where some painting of chairs etc was going on there, and apparently the construction work on the beer bars at the entrance is completed. Can't say whether there is some maintenance or upkeep plan in place though, but this suggests it. Perhaps the odd BM can take a walk down there to see if anything is going on... I haven't been in the area for a good while now.

Maybe..... hard to tell with you. Usually up before dawn, soon after 5am most mornings. Filling the fridge, cup of tea and laptop on, all before sunrise. Had to sneak back in for a T-Shirt this morning. Yesterday was bad enough, getting out of the pool with a cold strong wind had me doing a dance.

I think mine is cancelled too..... bit nippy for that sort of silliness.

I am glad you posted this, I whiz past the place very frequently and to be honest, I thought it was closed. There was a sign on the door that I never managed to read. I had a steak, the first for a long time, a few days ago in Bangkok. At first the smell put me off, and I understood why it is not eaten by many Nationals, my Mrs included. But I got going and really enjoyed it. I always thought of Steak and Co as just a bit pricey, but good quality. The steak specials look good, they are listed on Facebook, and I see they are open 7 days/week but only for evenings, 5pm to 9.30pm, probably why I got the impression they were closed. Worth a stroll up there.

Had you made any other plans like the COE, insurance and visa? I think by March we will have Visa Exempt, but am guessing a Covid Test, COE, Quarantine etc will still be required. BA say they refund cancelled flights so maybe you can still do something.

I must admit, a few mornings this week, I opened the window and smelled burning. That would be pretty early too.... 5am.

Thanks for that, I pass that way frequently as a cut through to and from town and that shop should be an easy stop off point. Need some tea bags.... not getting my usual ex-UK deliveries.

I always felt these types of resorts were simply a way of locking tourist in..... too far out of town to get back and forth and a captive customer base that could be charged any price. Yes they might provide a good quality of accommodation, service and food, but in reality you could be anywhere.

Many years ago Jomtiem Beach was the better alternative, where there was a decent beach and cleaner water than Pattaya Bay. I didn't think the beach itself had deteriorated that much, the water quality, yes.

I have downloaded it but not yet had an opportunity to use it. Downloaded based on a couple of good recommendations and fed up that Grab had put up their prices. (Hate their food delivery drivers too, keep buzzing me and causing me to start)

Haha, that made me laugh a little..... I often get on buses at Ekamai that look so old I wonder if they will make it, they of course do, but maybe a little more sedately, which is good. Thanks again.

Two pals there both have extra studio units they usually rent out, and as far as I know are sitting empty. They usually get very lucrative renters over high season and especially the peak period. Not this year.
