Kinda wondering shuttling who?

More accurately 'not so much in the USA'.......I was amazed by what it meant to Brazilians!

Congratulations to Liverpool. Chelsea beat Man City at Stamford Bridge and Liverpool take the Premiership. Liverpool are crowned Premier League champions https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2020/jun/25/liverpool-win-the-premier-league-title-live-reaction

As far as I know, althouh those with permanent residency, Thai family or work permits are allowed too. They have to get some permit from the Thai Embassy and some medical certification and maybe some insurance and will have 2 weeks of quarantine at their own expense.... pretty onerous.

There are Middle East carriers flying so I expect a transit in Dubai is possible.
-
There are repatriation flights coming into Thailand but limited to 200-300 passengers a day, probably as many as their quarantine facilities will permit. It is rumoured that some foreigners may be allowed to enter at the next easing of restrictions... those with Perm Residency, Work Permits and Thai families, but one really has to wait for it to be announced. I expect those will certainly have 2 weeks of quarantine too.

And if I book a flight from Bangkok to Bali Thai airways are expected to ask the UK governement how many pages I have left in my passport?
-
Would have buying a premium cabin to start with have worked out better? I was originally concerned that discounted tickets would not qualify or there would be other restrictions, but none are apparent. But I have always been suspicious of such offers, like buying airmiles off the carrier.... as Bigus says, cash is king usually.

Be aware that this is simply Etihad creating it's own currency.....you cannot get your money refunded, it can only be spent with them, and it is only valid for 2 years. The good thing is, apparently it can be used on promotional deals. I doubt they will offer change, so you may find yourself buying superflous extras to avail it before expiry.

The end of this week..... Effectively only 9 days earlier than planned though..... Seems premature although if what Bazle posted is true, a far different case. There is still a threat in this virus.

Do we need the "Nightmarch" sub forum?
jacko replied to Butch's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Don't get me started... I try to lighten the mood over there on TV with a wise crack and it is deleted in seconds and a Mod will make a post calling me a troll! I get more posts deleted over there in a week than I delete in a year on here. Mods don't have the power to re-organise the Forums and Sub Forums, we can move posts between them, but I am rather amused by people claiming there is no information in the Hotels Forum, when often one gets posts about guns and Politics in there. Don't be overly worried about the odd 'conversation,' we let them ride, but ultimately they get so far off topic..... here is an idea, start a new topic yourself in a suitable section. Nightmarch used to be a great regular poster, by Duncan Stern, as per Monkeywatch nowadays. I notice the previous post is discussing Thai tones and eels...... don't worry Bullfrog, I won't remove it,!? -
The latest news: About International flights resumption
jacko replied to syed's topic in Airline Discussion
It seems to be the factor commonplace in life these days and I see too much of it watching UK media... how quickly they forget the dead and dying. -

You have set your location as UK.....

Personally I hope they give it a little longer, seems like Thailand finds some infected people in their quarantine daily. I would have thought people would need to get back to work after returning to the UK.

Pictures from around Pattaya
jacko replied to forcebwithu's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
So quiet and social distancing in Big-CX. I believe this used to be an 'Erotic Massage' place on Soi Buakhao, perhaps recently mentioned by @tallguy it is no more. Also Nemo's on Buakhao still shut, didn't think to check the one on Soi Diana. Nearby traditional places open. The rate on the street today, a TT Exchange is open! Hellfire crossing, with many fewer casualties these days. Soi Pothole looking quiet to the East...... And the West.... A few minutes earlier I was told 'no customer, no have money, hungry......' Not sure if I covered this with my tip....... I would have got more pics but rain drove me to the Mall. -
Here is an archived thread on Thai Visa on this topic... https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1003931-used-car-transfer-registration/ Beware, it is a few years old and I believe that you can have out of province plates now. It is over a decade since I bought a car, and then I did have to transfer it from Bangkok plates to Chonburi plates, which required trips to Chonburi City. I suspect it can all be done in Pattaya now... if it is open currently.

Thailand extends ban on international flights until June end
jacko replied to 4wheels's topic in Airline Discussion
This measure would have been better employed some months back..... -
I just did one, to Bangkok Bank via Transferwise. It arrived exactly as an International transfer would. I did select the option 'Funds for Long Term Stay in Thailand'.

Bus/Van Pattaya to Sriracha?

I seem to recall the jeepneys being very uncomfortable, hard as rock suspension, but more experience in Manila. -
Bus/Van Pattaya to Sriracha?
jacko replied to aldriglikvid's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I would rent a bigger bike for the day, like a PCX. What will that be, 300 baht or so, plus fuel? Hence avoiding the biggest problem, being dropped at Robinsons and struggling to get transport from there to the hospital...I know I had problems finding one of them once as it was well away from Sukhumvit. More an issue might be getting caught in a thunderstorm. People who usually spend time in Pattaya or Bangkok are often surprised how getting about on public transport is difficult in other Thai towns. -
