UPDATE 1-Doomed Air France plane was not destroyed in flight

Oxygen makes you high, you feel euphoric.....(Fight Club?) -
How will all those guys on the dole afford their trips to LOS? If I read the above correctlyt, the tax doubles on 1/11/2010. The tax doubles if the flight exceeds 2000 miles. And for 2011, they start using KM as a further increase... In 2011, if I fly from Manchester to BKK via London, using Biz class from the capital I pay £192 taxes one way? Is there VAT on the ticket too?
-
The cynic in me says BA will suffer, and LHR will lose passengers... and the staff there lose jobs. Hard to find anything wrong there. Perhaps Brown should just put a large tax on short flights to other hubs ie Manchester/Brum etc to Amsterdam.

So it hadn't reached a terminal speed....vertically..... this is really very little information. -
Sorry the Fang reference buzzed by me, I really should pay more attention. The intervening 45 years have been hard on me. Well I have heard of Thai parents taking some responsibility and action wrt the behaviour of theoir children. Getting them off a murder rap for eg... didn't you and I discuss that once? Why do you feel a parent is not responsible for the actions of their child... up to a limit say of 16 years, at which point they could be charged as an adult? So hooligans/kids/gangs etc are inviolable, and Thai society has no defence against them? No wonder they get used!
-
The only better idesa, and it is hardly a new one, is to make the parents responsible for the kids. Prosecute the parents. I don't recall the Mr Fang incident, but I can more than believe it. And here is another idea, since a police presence seems to scatter them, how about a police presence. Or better still a police presence who have had their newspapers taken off them. Come get the two I found sleeping by the lake the other day. Or those that sit watching the TV in the Lek hotel. Do these kids have walkie-talkies too?

Dentists in Pattaya, any recommendation's ?
jacko replied to Alfred's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
I had to go back a week later. As you said one visit for preparation and a temp fitted after a mould taken. The crown is fabricated elsewhere and that is the reason for a delay. Then back for the fitting. If everything goes smoothly a week would cover it. -
Err, sounds like they a real criminals to me, or is there an age below which criminal actions are deemed 'not a crime' in Thailand?Apart from the picking pockets, they are using hawking as a cover, plenty of hawkers get taken in! Yes, arrest them, take them along to the police station, and attempt to locate the parents... as has been done before. You seem to like to make excuses for the police who really are a sad excuse for police.

I had one done for about that price at 'The Art of Smile', 2nd Rd opposite Bangkok Bank Near Soi 6, there is a little plaza there. (Tropical Berts is in there) -
I wouldn't worry to much bolly.... a warning that there is a gang currently in operation is appreciated. If they are a success, another outlet may be considered! Add it to my list with the katoeys to beware of. I recall being similarly swamped in Manila, there were so many of them it's hard to defend your property without wanting to bang some heads. Whether the police are aware seems irrelevant, they seem to prefer getting involved after the event rather than a preventative presence.

Ah yes, I have tried that but somewhere else. Unfortunately the pieces of duck seemed to be the odds and ends I would normally throw away! Put off for life!Back to the old joke, I ordered a large duck and all I got was a big bill!
-
My Thai isn't up to figuring out the other Fra Pattaya dish. But I am guessing it's the other dish I went for as an alternate to the roasted duck curry. It was a large plate of fried roasted duck that came with Kale? I recall it also came with the pink pickled ginger?

I absolutely love gaeng pet phet, although the picky TGF wouldn't go for it. It was always my favourite at the old 'Fra Pattaya' (Other end of Pattaya Tai)That info alone will have me back in the Vientiane soon.

Glad to hear you are recovering OK.I might be looking to have this procedure done in a few years myself. Regarding your prior post, 'mistake' and 'eye operation' don't go together well in my mind. I wouldn't worry about any prejudice, just be honest. Thankfully the 'mistake' seems to be recoverable...... the details of this and how it was handled now sound more important to me!

Went there last night. Directions above are good, but if you come from Sukhumvit it would be on your left, just after BigC, turn into Soi 1. Vientiane Restaurant And closer.... Food was of a high standard. Reasonable prices. Attentive service, that I kinda wished had more to do as he was all over us like a rash. (Who trains Thai waiters, the twit reached over my TGFs plate to remove another one?!) Plenty of parking, big open air layout. But sure looks empty when it is quiet.

I wish, the guys on the spare land near me throw diesel on them and light a fire!Ignore Joe, as I wish he would ignore this thread. It is a subject worth discussing. For example he could have suggested that printer cartridges can be refilled in Thailand easily instead of his usual 'Thais are perfect as they are' speech. They do recycle quite well, I actually sell all my old cans and bottles to someone who comes round in a truck. If I were to put them in the trash cans someone would come remove them and scatter all the other rubbish in the street. My main comment is recycling works well here, anything that can make money will be performed. But I see little regard for the environment generally, rubbish is dumped anyplace, an ice cream wrapper dropped anywhere, the sea littered with debris. A bit like my UK town on a quiet Sunday morning.

I think Thailand has a little way to go on this one. I can't get over why I need 25 BigC flyers pushed in my gate every week!

No, that would be counter productive. She seems to take her birthday as quite an important event, so no alternative other than go shopping there.
