Going the other way, Bangkok to Manchester, UK, I'm looking for a September flight in Biz Class. Qatar, who I would lilke to try, are still coming in at about 85,000 (incl taxes) baht. Tom has advised me that there is a good chance some specials will be available and to hang on. I just took a look at Ethiad and they are offering about 75,000 baht. I don't like Abu Dhabi airport but that is an attractive fare. Anybody have any experience of Ethiad Biz? Or any other recommendations. I am a bit picky as I want to avoid LHR, one transit max and no layovers over 3 hours.

Are you surprised that the police didn't accept this? It is after all a bizarre 'joke' to slip something into a 'friend's' bag. Is this what passes for fun in Oz? Do you do it to each other in department stores? Then laugh as they get stopped by security as the handbag causes an alarm? I heard a similar story when talking to a Middle Eastern friend who claimed that people were slipping things into Middle Eastern women's bags as they strolled around Harrods in London. Purely a malicious racist act against his 'creed' he thought. Found it hard to give that credence too. It's not only the Thais who are xenophobic!

Just received an email from Opodo. Singapore Airlines from Manchester or LHR, from £344. Book by 30th June for Travel 01 Sept-31st March. (Singapore is from £299, easy to travel on to LOS). Ethiad from Manchester or London, from £384. Book by 22nd June (Wow, get a move on) for travel 1st September to 30th November. Rainy season in LOS. or in the UK?...... Come on over.

I have always felt it is worth double a cheap economy seat..... so if drunk and abusive pays £500, I don't mind paying £1000 to be elsewhere!

Constant battle mate. I have sprays, repellents, coils, swatter bats, zapper bats and a zapper UV light. Finding where they are coming from, and eliminating it if possible helps. Wet ground as well as standing water to be checked. A light shirt and keep your feet impolitely high to protect those ankles. Getting the TGF to sit nearby seems to help too as they now seem to prefer her!

That's a coincidence, I was talking to an American last night who was also telling me of a great deal he got to fly from West Coast (LA or SFO, I forget) on SQ. He mentioned about $850 which I thought was really cheap (maybe included the hop to SFO). Your $679 (£414) on a great airline for quite a distance is some special.

I have only second hand knowledge of a friend who had such surgery done at BPH. He was very pleased with the result. He is a very wealthy guy for whom the cost was not very important. I also have an acquaintance who used the Pattaya Eye Centre, and was similarly positive for a lesser cost. As to BPH, for me, I found their aspirin to be 5 times the price of elsewhere!

Errr....Emirates is a country, as in United Arab Emirates, as well as an airline.My point was, I doubted that the guy answering the phone, in Dubai (one of the UAE's 7 emirates), at the service desk, at the airport, happened to be a National, hence subject to your references. I seem to recall this tale about hotel keycards holding your CC details years ago.Glad to hear it's a myth. There is a certain hotel promoted on this site that write the CC details on your check-in card though! And many take a slider copy in advance.......... I think some sarcastic sods are being hard on a BM who had good intentions if poor research.
