Glad you asked. Opportunity to bitch. It has turned to shit, and is frustrating particularly in the late afternoons and evenings. Often just unuseable in the evening. This has been going on for 3-4 weeks. I have tried switching DNS but it is still bad. My neighbours on Maxnet are also complaining, I was told by one they were expanding the network locally. There may also be some filtering/ logging being implemented. When I visited the office, I got the standard crap response. They take your number for a tech to call you back....which NEVER happens!

Who do you care for and support in your relationship

Yes trusting souls aren't they. I often get behind one at the ATM who seems to be drawing cash for all and sundry at work, fiddling with little scraps of paper with numbers scribbled on! Found out that a lady nearby was performing that service, and keeping half of what she withdrew..... it was only her mother though! -
is this the perfect way to leave this mortal coil?

At 40, far too young to go like this. I may have seen the report on Sophon. If I have the correct one in mind there were a lot of little blue pills shown. -
In LOS I would be careful with that statement. Some power strips are most certainly just that, a way of getting power to someplace else, or more outlets. Make sure it says 'surge protection'.... Good range in Homeworks too. I have another device that plugs into a socket in the house, that is stated to stabilize the supply too, and reduce consumption (phase shifter).

Yes I noticed this when I tried to change my seats on my last flight.Couldn't get my aisle ones despite being as early as the system allowed. Due to passengers frequently changing to particular seats, they sure know which ones are preferred now, and hold them for people flying a more expensive fare basis.

I was amused by his comment that 'you have people standing on trains and the underground, so what is the difference?'....... A few hundred MPH I thought!

My Maxnet is about 850 baht/month for 4M/0.5 (yeah right, me and the 20 others sharing it!), but I pay additional for the telephone separatelySince you can skip months when not using it, that is a good deal..

This guy came and serviced my AC units, Suchard Airservice Tel 01 (8) 3046851 03 (8) 0138005. It was a while back, the namecard seems to be missing the standard "8" and I don't think he spoke much English. It only cost me about 2400 baht for 2 units, with a recharge for one, which I suspect is your problem. The shower unit. Which breaker is overloading? If it is one back in your breaker box, not on the unit, check it's capacity. EG, a 3.3KW shower unit, would require 3300/220= 15 amps, hence use a 20 amp breaker! This also presumes that the shower has a dedicated breaker. (Not feeding other things in the condo) I have come across many showers fed from undersized breakers, or the shower units themselves are of a high power rating. If the water is particularly cold, it will need that power. If it is an Earth Leakage type that is tripping, well things get complicated. But there is often an adjuster for delay and leakage current that could be tweaked. Also there is normally an earth leakage breaker fitted in the shower control itself. If that is popping while you shower, something is strange! A shower should be grounded, but many Thai systems do not have an integral ground (2-wire)... Also many Thai 'technicians' aren't particularly knowledeable. But they sure like to talk themselves up. Just get an electrician, sorry I can't recommend, I check things like that myself, (don't trust them here... )

Mine figured out some amount for her living costs, and I give her that, I pay all the household costs/bills over and above. So she got this allowance. Just found out she is managing to squirrel away a few thousand in a 'secret little bank book' every month. When I suggested that this could be put in the 'build a house in the village' fund, she looked at me like I was nuts. -
Absolutely, Skytrain/Metro/ Ferry. Most sites are on the river. A one day pass for the train and off you go!

Oxygen makes you high, you feel euphoric.....(Fight Club?) -
How will all those guys on the dole afford their trips to LOS? If I read the above correctlyt, the tax doubles on 1/11/2010. The tax doubles if the flight exceeds 2000 miles. And for 2011, they start using KM as a further increase... In 2011, if I fly from Manchester to BKK via London, using Biz class from the capital I pay £192 taxes one way? Is there VAT on the ticket too?
-
The cynic in me says BA will suffer, and LHR will lose passengers... and the staff there lose jobs. Hard to find anything wrong there. Perhaps Brown should just put a large tax on short flights to other hubs ie Manchester/Brum etc to Amsterdam.

So it hadn't reached a terminal speed....vertically..... this is really very little information. -
Sorry the Fang reference buzzed by me, I really should pay more attention. The intervening 45 years have been hard on me. Well I have heard of Thai parents taking some responsibility and action wrt the behaviour of theoir children. Getting them off a murder rap for eg... didn't you and I discuss that once? Why do you feel a parent is not responsible for the actions of their child... up to a limit say of 16 years, at which point they could be charged as an adult? So hooligans/kids/gangs etc are inviolable, and Thai society has no defence against them? No wonder they get used!
-
The only better idesa, and it is hardly a new one, is to make the parents responsible for the kids. Prosecute the parents. I don't recall the Mr Fang incident, but I can more than believe it. And here is another idea, since a police presence seems to scatter them, how about a police presence. Or better still a police presence who have had their newspapers taken off them. Come get the two I found sleeping by the lake the other day. Or those that sit watching the TV in the Lek hotel. Do these kids have walkie-talkies too?

Dentists in Pattaya, any recommendation's ?
jacko replied to Alfred's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
I had to go back a week later. As you said one visit for preparation and a temp fitted after a mould taken. The crown is fabricated elsewhere and that is the reason for a delay. Then back for the fitting. If everything goes smoothly a week would cover it. -
Err, sounds like they a real criminals to me, or is there an age below which criminal actions are deemed 'not a crime' in Thailand?Apart from the picking pockets, they are using hawking as a cover, plenty of hawkers get taken in! Yes, arrest them, take them along to the police station, and attempt to locate the parents... as has been done before. You seem to like to make excuses for the police who really are a sad excuse for police.

I had one done for about that price at 'The Art of Smile', 2nd Rd opposite Bangkok Bank Near Soi 6, there is a little plaza there. (Tropical Berts is in there) -
I wouldn't worry to much bolly.... a warning that there is a gang currently in operation is appreciated. If they are a success, another outlet may be considered! Add it to my list with the katoeys to beware of. I recall being similarly swamped in Manila, there were so many of them it's hard to defend your property without wanting to bang some heads. Whether the police are aware seems irrelevant, they seem to prefer getting involved after the event rather than a preventative presence.
