  1. I used to feel the same but I no longer make the 2 UK trips a year plus maybe another elsewhere so I figured the waste of 2800 baht covered me. Unlikely I will need to make a trip at short notice these days and I can always get one at the airport.
  2. Seems a little extravagant, 3800 baht v 2000 baht?
  3. I was thinking as it is an all England affair it should be moved to Wembley, bloody Madrid!
  4. Thanks for posting, I took a pic or two last night there but no need to use them now. That job looks like it will go on forever! Bad for all the businesses around there! The Beach end of Klang is half closed and this was causing traffic back-up on Klang and the 2nd junction. There was some other work, which I think was either cable burying, or drain cleaning, who the hell knows these days. That was opposite soi 7 off 2nd, behind the Memorial Hospital.
  5. UK Politics has taken Sterling back down!
  6. Well it was some years back and I learned my lesson. I have lived here some years now and I am not a member of the 'lovely Thais club'. At the airport, and around Pattaya I would say they are a collection of scrounger and scammers. I guess my opinion is swayed living in the Pattaya area, and by the fact we are their favourite customers! They seem much nicer in the rural areas.
  7. Well I obviously got to it before you deleted the link. Harrowing and I am quite sure some would object to it. I would not like to re-post it myself.
  8. Well I hope the clips are all from the same event (rather than a scaremongering compilation) in which case I have no issues with it! The reality of what happened to these innocent people needs to be seen.
  9. This 'State of Denmark' situation keeps dropping little worrying tales , reminds me of the VW emissions fixing scam, except that didn't kill people. Boeing knew of 737 MAX safety system glitch year before deadly crash. Washington (AFP) - Boeing engineers identified a fault with a pilot warning system on its 737 MAX aircraft in 2017, a year before the deadly Lion Air crash, the company said Sunday. Faulty angle of attack indicator information may have played a role in both of the deadly crashes, causing the 737 MAX anti-stall system to unnecessarily activate and push the nose down toward the ground even as pilots fought to maintain altitude. "In 2017, within several months after beginning 737 MAX deliveries, engineers at Boeing identified that the 737 MAX display system software did not correctly meet the AOA Disagree alert requirements," the aircraft manufacturer said in a statement. "The software delivered to Boeing linked the AOA Disagree alert to the AOA indicator, which is an optional feature," it said. "Accordingly, the software activated the AOA Disagree alert only if an airline opted for the AOA indicator." Source.
  10. Not the PL but WOW, impressive Liverpool!
  11. Some month back I was horrified as I finished my shower to notice half my dick had turned black. My face drained, Adrenalin hit my system as I fretted wondering 'what the fuck have I caught now! After calming down and having a look it appeared to be a bruise, and indeed it faded and vanished over the next few days. I still don't know exactly what caused it, an enthusiastic BJ, a zipper accident (unlikely, you know when you do that). It surely hadn't been there long and I just concluded I made a clumsy dive into my pool, or sat down heavily on the shitter and forgotten catching it. It's back to it's regular yellow and green now.
  12. Yeah those kangaroos are locally sourced.
  13. Standard for the beach actually.
  14. No alcohol and no smoking allowed!
  15. I was working there and one of the locals guys seemed to think it fun to bring me some fried alligator at lunchtime, me being 'foreign'.
  16. No, I believe you are correct and it was alligator.
  17. This afternoon. Don't ask me why it says Wednesday!
  18. I agree with Bazle, it looks far from appetizing there, actually it looks disgusting. Tried croc in La. I feel the same way with respect to eating bugs. Plenty of alternatives and I like to exist higher up the food chain (although a croc is well up there). What is next, freshly carved soi dog on 2nd Rd served on a baguette with BBQ sauce. That should get the morons out with their camera phones!
  19. I have used a couple of home delivery outfits while living here, TOPS was one. I used them specifically to deliver heavier items, cases of beer, bottled water etc. Simply avoiding driving the truck into town myself, what with the traffic. I stopped using one as they stopped delivering booze. The other didn't have the selection I wanted. I think many people use BigC-X and then get a Songtaew to haul them and their bags home. They also used to have a free delivery over a certain purchase level.
  20. Sorry, used already.
  21. Good post Bazle, I was chatting with Mrs last night about this as we heard that some factory her brother works at will be closed 4th, 5th and 6th, and she thought government offices would be closing too. Your info is more official. Bars, can't predict that. I would expect some impact, but this of course is an event that has not occurred since 1950, beyond my span.
  22. You might want to add the sq M size, seems to be an important consideration to many.
  23. It may seem silly but a small towel. I don't know which border crossing the 1st Class Visa Runs outfits use these days but a few times they have seemed extremely hot places to be, and nowhere to get out of it. It is hot enough in Pattaya. They show a film on the bus but if you are the type who can nod off, the eye patches might help.
  24. Last time I used a rank taxi I got a ticket from a woman sat at a tin desk, she told me 50 baht plus whatever I arrange with driver if I recall correctly. Also as stated there was a wait as more customers than available taxis. I recall an excited cheer as my driver realized he got a Pattaya ride. But like you I drive myself there, Mrs brings the vehicle back and I now book a ride to return. Never had an issue other than the odd car sounding like it needed a few new springs.Damn sight better than Bali where I couldn't find the hotel driver in the bedlam and crowds! Thank heavens I don't bother with the touts of years ago who used to drive you just out of the airport and try to transfer you to his mate's car that was devoid of fuel! Twats.
