Yes, if you do not have a bank account in Thailand you could get by without. But how about getting on-line with your phone. Data requires a network number, even Wi-Fi available in Malls often originates from the networks provided free to their customers. Free Wi-Fi is usually crap. There will be a lot of freeloaders on a free WI-Fi, or even managing to get onto a business network. If one Thai knows the password, all her friends will too. As I learned on Soi Chaiyapoon recently. All the girls were on the restaurant opposite's Wi-Fi!

I bought one of those face masks and am wearing it when on the bike heading into town lately. But last week, one evening at rush hour (6pm), I was sat at a small eating place on the junction of Hwy 36 and Sukhumvit and probably breathed in more bad stuff than I had all week. You could very much see it in the air in the usual Thai driving confusion at modern style junctions , coaches in and out of town mixed with double trailer trucks heading between Laem Chabang and Rayong. This place is in for a lot of health issues relating to polluted air! I live out of town but the proximity of Hwy 36 and Sukhumvit is doing me no favours.

Qatar were using UTP onto Doha with a stop in Rangoon, but that seems to have been dropped. Can't recall it's demise being mentioned anywhere. More suitable for me as I want to avoid LHR and go straight into Manchester, so a Middle East or other stopover is obligated. Actually the main Bangkok airport is as easy, as I live near to the motorway entrance on the North of Pattaya.

The text Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda. Is unnecessarily at the bottom of the page as well as the top.

Coincidentally I was looking at this only recently. I had been looking at International flights from UTP and what appeared to be a weekly one, every Friday to Manchester labelled TOM (Thompson, or TUI) caught my eye. I did try going to the TUI site and entering some dates but couldn't make it work. The UTP website flight number seemed to represent some completely different routes too. Perhaps have to wait until the situation clarifies. Maybe it is only a charter option or linked to package holidays.

Utd have had a good run but not really against any top flight opponents, so interesting game.

There are a lot of guys eking out that bottle of Chang sat on Buakhao stools at the moment. Some make that first one last until 10 am! (Not sure if that is from 9am or 2am!)

Yesterday, when I looked up the rate being offered by the Bangkok Bank in the morning, before the first 8am update, I got a bit of a shock as it had dropped below the 40.0...eek! By the first morning update it had manged to cross back over that number. I also have a spreadsheet with a plot on it (I know, get a life), I have had to lower the bottom/ minimum range a few times over the years, but never ever thought 40 would be tested!

Plenty of different types of Nasi rames pops up with a google, here is one pic. Might be off to Bali for a short trip in a few months.

I got 2 dishes on my house neither of which is used now. Old technology. You would get better selection with a good internet connection! I stream from my laptop but an android box will do the same.
