The Bayshore is a top place but in the past not monger friendly, has that changed?. Im trying the Grand in Dec. Consider the 1 bdrm suite at at the LKR on Diana. If your a first time visitor would suggest the Residence Gardens. You wll meet fellow BM"s who will helo you out, Dont worry about the location, just pay the 100 baht taxi ride home. Didnt care for the Marriott, but it is a Marriott.

Im out for October. ANA 1800/not dropping as usual, United 1200+, AA with lousy routing. Booked Dec 1 Iad-Bkk 940 all in from orbitz. Bronze FF so they let me pre select seats ,important for a 24 hr flight. Sorry im missing a lot of new names in October, leave some pussy for us December guys. Bill

Phuket Hotels,staying 8th Dec till 15th Dec
sailingbill replied to Dr Mick's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Take a look at the Holiday Inn Mick, similiar prices, pickup up at the airport. The "Busakorn" wing is a private area for couples. Latestays has it for about 2,000 baht. Main thing for me was close to the action and no mosquitos. Are you ever in KK anymore? We are counting on you as the local travel guide Bill. -

Laundry near Mikes mall?
sailingbill replied to samjjohn's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Across 2cd road directly in front of Mikes is Soi Dianna. 2 laundry shops on the left before Slices Pizza. But really its hard to walk a block in any direction without running into one. I forget the prices. Funny you should ask ,The laundries put a colored thread in your clothes to identify yours. I noticed the polo I'm wearing still has the thread from the last trip. Looked at that and brought back fond memories of Patt's. I really need to get back there if i'm going on about laundry like this. -
I try to give something to the kids, but this just ends up labeling you as a dope. So i let the TG deal with it, sometimes she gives money, most times not. The most useful phrase i learned from my Thai teacher was "please do not touch my body". I dont remember the translation now but i'll post it. The kids hear that in Thai and move on to easier marks. Giving to the orphanage is merit all us mongers should make imho.

Eye lens implant surgery
sailingbill replied to 4niceight's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I plan some procedures in LOS .I'm in the medical field and research has me comfortable with having these done in Thailand. I did look at having Lasik in the states but was advised "Why bother, your old (56), your just going to get cataracts and need lens implants anyway." Lasik is well priced here, but lens implants are not unless you have a cataract diagnosis. I would like to get rid of the glasses. 4nieceight, don't worry about predudicing BPH, adverse reactions happen, mistakes don't .Care to name the surgeon? Pattaya eye center looked good at least on the surface, just a bump to see wh -
to give favor to owner, a gift to owner of the property came from chinese culture to earn out of regular rent. chinese start this tradition. Ok i dont know why but im online with my Thai teacher and this was her answer. Bill

Comb through Tripadvisor. The Expat and Kelly"s had good reviews. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn but the TGF has to check in with me, otherwise not GF. Bill

Surry, met you on my first trip, remember you were with a looker in the RSB2 on WS. Might explain your medical problem. Really hope you are on the mend. Yes , try the LKR,i dont know why the website sucks as it does, many complaints. If you book get a confirmation to your personal email. On site service is great. I was staying at Rg last trip but had a falling out with the TGF. Wandered into the LKR at 0500, quite drunk. They just handed me a key, no cc,no passport since it was on file i guess. But good location as you know. I like variety so may try Sabai next trip. Thanks for the info.

Surry, Sabai Resort looks really good i have avoided because i get in late and hit WS/ Diana. How are he bars on Sio 2/3 late? 0100 -0300 Now i am to lazy to change hotels mid trip The BLT at the Beer Garden is my breakfast even when the hotel throws in a free one. Long haul from the S abai complex Bill

Hope you get more info on this, I'll probably end up a Cheap Charley in Issan, but in Patts i like to be comfortable. Marriott was ok but not as good as Bkk Waterside. My current pick is the LK Rennaisance on Diana. What you may be looking for is a condo / villa in Jomtien with a private pool. Not sure about your budget though.

How Savvy Fliers Make the Most of Their Miles
sailingbill replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
ANA wanted to waitlist me for a free ticket, upgraded to business instead. I have not flown first class international since Pan Am. Damn what a difference. Full lenght bed, etc. Lounge with free booze ,good food. Article gives excellent advice. Almost blew a bunch of miles on some stupid luggage. -
