  1. Two weeks ago Thaifasttrack let me down, no show at the plane, they didnt give me a contact #. Mr. T did not let me down. My Thai phone was ringing before i passed customs. The aptly named Patience provided good company , safe driving in a newer car.
  2. I took a taxi from the airport asking the driver "Do you know how to get to Pattaya? ' Question was incorrectly worded. Should have been," Do you know your way around Pattaya?' Of course that may get an affirmative answer anyway. Point is if your new , the Motorcy guy may be your friend. They are everywhere and have pointed my driver in the right direction quickly on two occasions in Patts and Bangkok. Should have tipped them but didn't think of it at the time. Booked with Mr. T Monday night. See ya soon.
  3. Steve, please let us know how it you do at Sabai Resort, nearby bars etc. I'll be back for Feb. Staying at the Areca, 1690 baht. My trip are getting longer so would't mind cheaper alternatives.
  4. As said Feb is a nice month. I'm in on the 7th. Bar crawl that Wed i hope . Cmon down.
  5. Thanks for the thread, reminded me i need to book Mr.T for next week. I guess he's still at the hotmail adress?
  6. I leave 4hours early for what should be a 1 hour drive. Baltimore to Washington traffic sucks. Im always a wreck , if i miss my flight im done for at least 24 hours. Finally got wise this trip and will only fly out on Sundays. Also a fan of fastrack now at least at BKK. When are back in Patt's Steve?
  7. Agree, prebook a taxi and head to Pattaya. Where are you staying? We can recommend places close to your hotel for your first night.
  8. Rum and tonic with lime. Refreshing boat drink in the heat. Never can get one though. Best i can do is order a shot of Bacardi, buy a bottle of tonic if they have it. A slice of lime. So its usually Bia Sing.
  9. When i first started reading this i thought you were the dating coach.
  10. I am booked at the Jasmine in Feb. Supposedly right at Soi Cowboy but i havn't stayed there yet. Rate was 76usd/night. If anyone has a yea/nay on this hotel let me know.
  11. I work in a VA hospital in the states. There is a plaque at the entrance. "The price of freedom is seen here. " Indeed it is.
  12. "The dollar is toast. Put your money in anything else, while you can" I tend to agree on the st but i'm a bit of a contraian. Was told by those who thought they are in the know to run from the US/INT stock market last year. My ytd return is 28%. I know shit about the currency market and my dollars are stuck in tax advantaged accounts that i cannot move. So if your right , im fucked. Will revisit this next November and we'll see. I really dont like renting.
  13. I have been following prices at several condo projects for a couple of years and see no drop in prices. Im looking at a specific unit owned buy a BM. With the dollar tanking, this unit would have cost 48,000usd 2 years ago, now closer to 57,000. Rentals are effected proportionality but seem more attractive now in base dollar amounts.Saw a corner seaview studio in Kieng Talay for about $470usd/month. Plenty of studio seaview units under 15,000 Baht. Buying is attractive to me for other than financial reasons. But for tax/ age withdrawal reasons i won't do anything to the end of next year. Ho
  14. I have world radio on my work PC. Love the commercials .YES A HONDA WAVE FOR ONLY 29999 BAHT, VISIT US ON PATTAYA KLANG! I have 105 on most of the time. Suggestions? Would like more news, Pattaya local stuff. My co workers already know im a Pattaya addict.
  15. Soi Diana. The 1 Bedrm suites at LK Renaissance or the more reasonable Areca across the Soi. Stayed at the Evergreen wing Areca but find it tucked to far back in the complex. LT stay -Residence Gardens . On Walking street - Secrets.
  16. Not that i know of ,though someone will chime in soon if it can be done. Consider the worth of obtaining a Thai Bank account. You can refill your sim via internet banking.
  17. Booked 2 of us to Bali in Feb for $225 R/T Bkk -DPS on Air Asia. They do have the add on fees though.
  18. Another vote for keep as is. The music was a big draw for me when you first opened, hang out in the afternoon with a few beers.
  19. Never heard of them but that is a nice fare. Im paying about that for a full price economy class on ANA just so i can mile up to business for 2 flight segments. I am sorry they cancelled that JFK-BKK nonstop on THAI Air.
  20. ANA business seats are very comfortable. Flat bed with a good size divider if you have a seat mate. No set meal tiime. If you wake up, peruse a menu and order. I don't mind the flight with the exception of the Narita -Washington leg at the end of my trip. That is a killer. 28,000 ff miles to up to business on that leg. They frequently have double miles, or upgrade with less miles deals.
  21. Bad deal all the way around Gary. I know your up in the sticks , but consider using a fellow Bm .I brought a computer hard drive. (blank) for someone last trip. Vitamins should be a small package. I'm in Issan in Feb
  22. I have mostley cargo shorts and a couple pair of jeans. Polo shirts. The fact that you are asking the question predicts you will be fine in whatever you are comfortable with. Check out some of the youtube vids on walking street. Some real fashion statements there.
  23. Not postcards but i ordered Sagami Condoms from Japan to my home in the States. Used Paypal, but by mistake i used my Thai (international account) Paypal account rather than the US account. Condoms were shipped to an American street adress in Thailand. Didn't think i'd ever see them. Thai post office realized they were supposed to go to the US and expedited shipping. US customs marked them as "Rubber Toys". Got them just before the wife came home.
  24. jacko ,please pm if you get an answer. You would save me a bb hire if it is closed. I know they have changed locations in the past. I mostly eat Thai, the LTG defers when i want an Indian meal. She can be quite cute watching her construct a Thai meal out of condiments and garnish pieces in an restaurant. This trip i plan meals at Vientienne and Mata Hari. Then its back to the Thai BBQ in Nakula.
  25. Lovedog, im geographically challenged But ill try to find Tigglebittys . So you can actually get an egg fried in oil ? Love a good BLT . Im at work overnight so i'll search the photo guide.
