The incredible reduction in the number of flights flown and the contraction of the airline labor force has sure given the industry the upper hand at calling the prices.

He'll pick up the bike i have around 9:30 tomorrow morning. Maybe he'll have it available. I guess his number could be considered non commercial or private as you put it. Again I don't think he operates out of a shop front but i don't know for certain. i just know he's reliable and he's been great to deal with.

I think he's based on the dark side but as I posted, he delivers and picks up the bikes. I don't even know if he has a shop front.

Mark only asked for a copy of my passport. I agree with you, I don't like the idea of handing over my passport unless it's at immigration or something similar. He really is a good guy to do business with.

We rented a motorbike from Mark for the second time recently. I can't imagine how the experience could be more seamless. Mark is extremely fair as well as friendly and reliable. this last time I contacted him I explained we would only be keeping the bike for some days as opposed to a month as we did some time back. Mark's price for a week or less is ฿600. He both delivers and picks up the bike at your hotel. Mark makes clear that he stands behind his products. If it's a flat tire, that's on the renter but if it's mechanical, he's the one to take care of it. I especially like knowing in the back of my mind that when I return the bike to him, I'll be dealing with an upright fellow. His number for anyone interested is 087-744-0945

Thailand put on watch list for financial transactions
9cisco999 replied to MM's topic in Idle Chit Chat
That seems like an extreme solution but I suppose he exhausted all others with his particular bank. When I lost a debit card last year in Patts I was told by my card issuer that I needed to FAX various information to them including the address to which I'd like the replacement card sent. (note, a couple of clowns on the board found it sooo humorous that a fax was required but that was the requirement.) I learned my lesson some time back to always have back up contingencies. I make sure I have more than one debit card as it's so easy for me to forget to take my card with me after an ATM transaction. Your friend could follow the same option I choose if he's from the states. There are alternatives. It's cost free from beginning to end. -
Is the yellow bus an air con bus? so far the only buses I've taken have been blue ones to BKK.

Kindle I just ordered a Kindle - am I gonna like it?
9cisco999 replied to MM's topic in Idle Chit Chat
I do like the Kindle experience however one day it just wouldn't start. I only had the green light and the screen shots of past authors on the screen. The only recommendation of the Kindle support center was to hold down the start lever which accomplished nothing. I then learned since I bought it in the USA, I couldn't get a replacement sent to LOS where I was living. I was told there was no place to get it repaired in Thailand but I didn't look further into that. I did get a replacement sent to a friend in the USA but have also since that time added an iPad2 for a backup. The newspaper presentation on the Kindle isn't at all representative of a real newspaper as it is on the iPad. Instead, it's in an essay format as a series of articles. I like reading newspapers . The Kindle has a much better viewing screen in sunlight than does the iPad, but overall the iPad resolution absolutely rocks. It's a "tablet" with unimaginable features. I bought the case for the Kindle that has a built in reading lamp attached to it so I don't have to disturb others while I read. That works well. The battery life on the Kindle has impressed me but so has that of the iPad which is stuffed up with loads of apps. And the books I bought on the Kindle were still available for download for the replacement I received. -

back to the matter of expiry... .555 Never before did this happen? Isn't the only constant in the universe, change? Sorry about your loss. Unfortunately it pales in comparison to mine in similar situations. edit: for the yanks I should have said "Republic Wireless".

I've learned the hard way how the phones or phone company can drain the credit on a phone. I use a smartphone and learned if I don't have it on airplane mode, it automatically connects to the internet and pleasures itself while sucking me dry. I'm using the roaming for Happy here in the States and the carrier changes from TMobile to AT&T. While the charges are pretty high for roaming, it did serve my purpose at the time; I had functioning phone service when I landed at the USA airport. I've since discovered the range of pre pay phones available for a super reasonable price along with low calling fees: Straight Talk, Virgin Mobile, Republic Phones and etc. In your case Jacko, it sounds like your credit may have simply expired.

Physical therapy from a certified physical therapist would be my recommendation. -
anybody seen one of these bad boys?
9cisco999 replied to 9cisco999's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Thanks one and all for the replies. I guess I should abandon any idea of buying one. -

One thing about getting older is it allows for reflection of things past. The days of professional boxing seem to be numbered. In a couple of more years I suspect a professional boxing match will be as rare as a public phone in the USA. Funny vid. They only needed Mike Tyson there to bite off an ear or two.

Has the jury returned a verdict? So say you one and so say you all? Blue Parrot uneatable? Granted, the place wouldn't last long in San Diego, but for Pattaya, it's OK. One plus: I've never gotten sick from eating the food there. I ate at Blue Parrot once. I have never been back. I found the food to be greasey and barely fit for human consumption. On a positive note about the place, I think the Blue Parrot has the best salsa in Pattaya. [/url] 0 Last time I ate I Mike's, within 2 hours I was violently ill. Since I had both salsa, and a chimichanga covered in tomatoes, I am sure it was from that. Tried 1000mg of Cipro to no avail. Finally ended up in the clinic getting an IV of antibiotics, but still felt bad an entire day more. Never again. The food isn't even worthy of the name Tex Mex.. Both friends insist that Mike's is better than Tequila Reef. As far as my food, I found it pretty bland. I went to Mikes. What a huge disappointment. Small portains and very bland. Two friends I was with agreed and I/we don't plan to return. I have had the same experience with both Tequila reef, and Mike's. I like the food at Mikes better. The next day or two in the toilet happens more than in just Mexican places. I think it has more to do with the cooks, and refridgeration than the food itself. Knowing some restaurant owners, they have a hard time getting across to Thai's that they can't leave food out all day, and then cook it and serve it to a customer. The same goes for frozen food, that they will refreeze if it goes unsold. Getting Thai's to wash their hands before cooking after they have been to the toilet, picking their nose, or squeezing zits is almost a lost cause. 0 I love the "never gotten sick" as an accolade. Where you want ta go tonight for dinner, sweetie? 555

I did nothing intentional to change the font when I posted the above. It just came out that way. Sorry if it bothered you but if you'll post your address, maybe I'll send you a pair of extra strong reading glasses. You could probably use a pair anyway.
