I managed a score of 8 out of 10 - all by intuitive guesswork. Alan

A question about typing in passwords every time. Would doing this not make it possible for keyboard loggers to gain access to your passwords? Alan

I seem to recall Gene Sarazen (?) holing his tee shot at that hole during the Open Championship a few years ago. It must have been one of the last Opens in which he was eligible to play. It's not a long hole - only 120 or 130 yards if my memory is correct. Alan

I will try to look in at some point tomorrow night. Alan -
Could have done with that last night! Alan

A friend's cousin was found unconscious somewhere in Bangkok a number of years ago. Some Thais arranged for him to be taken to hospital, thinking that he had been assaulted (he has been mugged two or three times). This wasn't one of those times though. He had simply passed out due to an excessive consumption of alcohol. Despite a number of visits to Thailand, he does everything you should not do - particularly getting blind drunk. So long as you don't follow this wanker's example, you should be fine. Alan

My last trip back to Scotland was only the second time I hadn't flown economy (or ecomomy plus). On this trip, I used three different lounges, Air France in Bangkok, KLM in Amsterdam (actually went into two of them as the first one I went to didn't have a shower!) and Servis Air at Edinburgh. I really liked the Air France lounge in Bangkok and would rate it as the best of the three I visited. Small snacks or nibbles were provided and replenished on a regular basis, plus they had some good quality champagne. The lounge wasn't too busy either. KLM Lounges in Amsterdam. The first lounge I

Can't look in tomorrow night, but will try to do so over the next few days. Alan

I had a similar idea. Alan

When I took out my current health insurance policy, I had to declare any existing conditions - in my case high blood pressure and even though it is kept well under control by the medication I take, I am not covered for any cardiac problems. I have a wrist monitor so I can check it on a regular basis and I would say that a reading of 119/74 taken a minute ago was pretty damn good! I may change my provider next year as one of their agents I spoke to thought they would cover me but charge a premium of around 10%. That would be acceptable to me. I find it despicable that insurance companie

I knew there had to be a logical explanation for that. Alan -
Does the office in your condo offer a cleaning service? View Talay 2A charges 300 baht per unit so as I have a double unit - 74 square metres, it costs me 600 baht each time I get it cleaned. They also provide all the materials, which I suspect you might have to pay if not using a regular firm. They send in about 4 cleaners who do a very good job. In all, it takes the 4 of them less than an hour. Alan

Further to my ealier post, I did a Google search on the various processes I mentioned and they are all seem to be OK depending on where the file is located. I'll check that out when I get some time. Alan

Thanks for that - Intel, Zone Alarm & Toshiba are all fine, but I'll investigate the others when I have time. I have SpyBot and AdAware and they haven't picked anything up though that of course doesn't mean that they're not malaware etc. Alan

Useful information there. I use Zone Alarm firewall, AVG anti-virus (picked up a Trojan the other day), AdAware (just updating my version just now) CCleaner and SpyBot. On a slightly different vein, when I look at Processes in task manager, there are many programmes running that I have no idea what they do or why they are needed. Some of these are - Dot1XCfg.exe - zlclient.exe - ctfmsn.exe - CFSServ.exe - E_5413S2.EXE - ApptEx.exe Any suggestions as to what these programmes are and whether they are needed (unless I'm running a specific application)? I find it very sad thay a maths graduate cannot convert kg into lbs in his head. It isn't exactly rocket science to do so - 1kg = 2.2lbs. Therefore 63.5 * 2 = 127. 10% of 127 is 12.7. 127 + 12.7 = 139.7, which is as near as damn it 10 stone. Simplicity itself. Alan

I very much doubt whether an English teacher would be able to help. The cause of the impediment needs to be identified. Anxiety could be a cause and the parents' reaction could be making the problem worse. It may be worth asking the hospitals whether they have anyone who is suitably qualified. Alan

No, the Tourist Police Volunteer are not involved in these stings. Most of these appear to be organised by the Bangkok Police in any event. The Tourist Police's primary duty is to provide assistance to tourists etc. I would imagine that any farang found to be responsible for a bar being closed for even a short time (especially a Thai owned one) could expect to have a very short life expectancy if seen walking about town. I don't know who the wankers are who actually do this sort of thing but suspect that it is payback for being allowed to stay in the country. Alan

Change your money when you get to Thailand. There are two different excahnge rates in force - an internal one and an external one. The external rate which applies outside Thailand is poorer than the rate you will get once you arrive here. Alan

TukCom have 2nd hand PC's and laptops for sale. I can't recall for certain the price, but I'm pretty certain that you should be able to get one for 10,000 baht or less. A printer will also be required but these aren't too expensive for a basic one. Alan

Agreed! Alan

Anyone ever had a problem bringing a bar girl back to your place?
Eneukman replied to ginseng's topic in Expat Issues
I've never had a problem bringing bg's back to my condo - though I only ever barfine from a beer bar or a go-go. I always tell them that I rent the condo so they undestand that nothing in it belongs to me. Alan -

I'll try and look in at some point in the next week or so. Alan -
When are you next going to New Living Dolls 1? I'm sure Shane could arrange for Jerry to sing a couple of numbers just for you. Alan

Transitting through Heathrow to or from an internal flight isn't that bad, though it's a long time since I had to check in for a flight there. However, there is no way I would even consider a 15 hour layover anywhere. As I travel from Edinburgh, one change of plane is enough for me - so I want a non-stop flight (a re-fuelling stop is OK) from wherever I fly to first - be it Heathrow or Amsterdam etc. Alan
