Unanswered e-mails with Pattaya Hotels? WTF?
Grandpollo replied to satyr's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
If that happens and since there is gmail (free) , yahoo mail (free), hotmail (free), (and countless others no doubt) set up another account to diagnose if they interpret yours as a SPAM domain. -
Accommodation for 6 guys
Grandpollo replied to toxxspal@sharklasers.com's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I would look for one of the several hundred hotels in Pattaya with 6 rooms available using the normal methods of doing my own research, like Agoda. Failing that I guess I would add details, really, any details. Any at all, would be of interest to others seeking to recommend. Even one detail. Like how much, how fancy, part of town, what facilities are required, that sort of thing. -
Pattaya traffic engineers screw Jomtien-Pattaya route
Grandpollo replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
This will make the Residence Garden a wee bit less attractive unless you want to shlep from 3rd to 2nd to Beach Road. Has anyone taken the baht bus down this route (excluding the left turn mentioned above), and do the baht buses stay on 3rd road to the end or turn to 2nd road as soon as they can, through Gaytown for example? -
Here's what they say for an iPhone App and it should be the same for Android. It seems you can make the calls without a Magic Jack account but only receive with one which would be easy enough so you can e-mail to arrange a time you will call someone. Skype is very cheap but not free to North America so this might be good in Thailand and the cost is hard to beat, e.g. free, to try it on Android or iPhone. magicJack APP details: FREE Calls to U.S. and Canadian phone numbers – or to any magicJack number, anywhere in the world. magicJack APP will NEVER use your mobile minutes and does not require a voice plan. WiFi or 4G recommended. magicJack APP is 100% FREE and does not require any purchase. You can use your iPhone’s stored contacts with the magicJack APP. Download magicJack APP today and start making FREE calls instantly. IMPORTANT: NEW USERS If you do not have a magicJack account, you have two options with magicJack APP: 1. Test drive it! No account needed. Make outgoing calls to U.S. and Canadian landlines and cell numbers and any magicJack number. OR… 2. Receive a free magicNumber phone number to make and receive FREE calls and receive FREE Voicemail. A magicNumber starts and ends with an asterisk/star, like so: *0123456777* and can be dialed directly from any magicJack. You can use this number for magicJack to magicJack calls or have others call you from anywhere, like so: • First dialing the access number: 1-305-848-TALK (1-305-848-8255). • After the prompt, enter the magicNumber including the asterisks/stars, like so: *01234567* In magicJack APP, click the Account tab at any time to view your magicNumber. Tell friends to download magicJack APP and dial each other direct for free. **********WARNING If you disable Apple notifications, you will NOT receive incoming calls. On your Apple device, choose Apple's "Settings" and set "Notifications" to "ON". Then scroll down and set "magicJack" to "ON". EXISTING CUSTOMERS If you sign in to magicJack APP with an active U.S. or Canadian phone number on your magicJack account, you may use it to make and receive calls with magicJack APP. You can use the same number on all your magicJack services and devices.

Pattaya License Plate Wanted
Grandpollo replied to short's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There are many moto and car Chonburi plates on eBay and all around $10-12. -
I do that to win the lottery each week.

I went to see it next week and saw the sequel, last week, today.

Talking with a thai girl is horrible
Grandpollo replied to TheHunter's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Dead on and one of the real issues with the "GFE" in Thailand when communication for the most basic things is very difficult and maybe explains why they want to watch the Thai soap operas and chat with sisters and so on, as all you can do is shag and eat and go to subtitled movies. Other than their duties, we're kind of boring. I think if you could scout and attract educated Thai ladies who learn English to get by in world business you'd see a different light but you'd have to work to catch their eye. You can add almost all Latin American countries to your list. In countries like Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, uneducated girls who do speak English well are usually mercenaries and often are deportees from the US for crimes. If you can speak Spanish well in Central or South America there are hordes of more opportunities for you that don't involve gang chicas. -

Are you the same guy that started the post or yet another guy? What forums can't you enter? And the gallery IIRC is a separate thing not related to your membership status.

Several weeks in a nice hotel. I thought for around 2 Million Baht there were condos larger than a small hotel room.
-
I just redid my bedroom here at home with wood flooring. It is larger than this whole apartment. Sell the cat. There's not enough room to swing one. Is this all that $58,000 buys in Pattaya/Jomtien?

Better idea: start with a doctor and not random drug recommendations from people who are not trained to prescribe blood pressure medications, and take nothing without an exam to see if you do have hypertension and why.

He's trying to tell you that unlike Pattaya Addicts there is no advanced member and with your tiny number of posts you are not going to be a moderator either. You have all the access by being a member. Do you see some area that you cannot enter? No.

My experience in web boards with first posts seeking narcotics is that the person is a narcotic seeker (and usually hasn't the disease mentioned). Someone with a disorder needing these drugs can get a supply to carry and permission from the Thai government to bring them in. Narcotics need advance permission from the Thai FDA. If this is serious then arrange an appointment at a name brand private hospital with paperwork from the doctor where you live sent in advance. Morphine and Demerol both are not going to be found in many if any Pattaya pharmacies vs a hospital like Bangkok Pattaya or Pattaya International etc., who you can contact by e-mail in advance.

Viagra, Need a script or.......
Grandpollo replied to mrlasvegas's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
Cialis is indicated for two things. ED (erectile dysfunction) and BPH which is a type of prostate problem usually in older men. It is not for "blood pressure* " and there is no such thing as added "vascularity" particularly by reducing blood pressure. At least not with this drug. Men, do not take medicine you do not need. 20 year olds with no issues with erections and since BPH is so unlikely as to be not worth thinking about, should not be taking Cialis, self-prescribed, for non existent conditions. And they should not be pitching it like they are physicians from "made up university", either. Also the dose is 10mg and even 5 mg will often do (ED drugs are great to buy at the largest size then split with a pill splitter because quite often the cost is the same for all dosages). So 10 mg 2X daily is actually 200% of the recommended daily dose. The recommendation is hard to follow (other than being wrong, dangerous and stupid). * there is a form of Cialis called Adcirca for a condition you don't have called pulmonary hypertension, very serious, treated various ways by your cardiologist and not to be self treated by guessing you might have it (you would be very ill if you did). OP: you may want to join the PA board as it is the hub of the most ridiculous and dangerous self-prescribing regimens I have ever seen. -
Apple would do zero since it has nothing to do with them and the Irish authorities won't care. SPAM arrives, just delete it. Tip: Legitimate businesses can afford an e-mail that is not hotmail.

I like it when they post a link to TripAdvisor and you get to read recent reviews like below. This mus be almost right next door to Residence Garden but I cannot imagine where it is or if I have seen it. Most reviews are similar. God help you if you stain a towel as you are out $17 apiece for a $3 towel. Here is the TA link: http://th.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293919-d3668341-Reviews-The_Sun_Xclusive_Hotel-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html Review: This seemed like a very nice hotel at the beginning but we soon realized this is far from what we thought. It started out with a "sour", non-welcoming face at the reception from a lady with a bad attitude (it wasn't just one of her bad days as she was like that all week long) followed by a request for 1000 bht guarantee(they don't accept credit card so only cash) then she wanted another 500 for a damn room card! Once that experience was over we went to our rooms which were pretty nice at first but when you look carefully you notice that the sheets are full of stains (I prefer not to elaborate on that...)and not just in our room. Moreover the "queen bed" is really 2 single beds put together. The house keeping lady was friendly and did her job well but the "highlight" of our stay was related to this; we were called to the front desk and when we arrived we were presented with a towel from our room that had stains which were supposedly unremovable so we were asked to pay a fine of 500(!) Bht. This really pissed us off and for a matter of principle we did everything we could to avoid getting ripped off for nothing including going to laundry service(who were also skeptical about removing the stain but needed 24 hours to try but we didn't have that time).we even bought bleach to try and finally we managed! To summarize, I absolutely do not recommend staying at this property.

Not many owned 11 unit hotels selling for US$25,000 so you'd have to be right. It moved from Soi 3 2nd road to Soi 3 Beach road in the same advertisement so it may have wheels. I think they tell tourists Soi 3 Beach Road to not let them know how far they are going to walk from 2nd Road.

If you bought through a travel agent then you have to amend the ticket through them (the airline will often refuse to take action even for money) and you have to pay a fee and and fare differential which you don't even know yet, and that's how discount airfare tickets work. $290 for the change fee alone sounds like a lot, though most US airlines are upping theirs to $200 from $100 or $150. Travelocity gets little or more likely no commission so the $40 is a standard reticketing fee. I use a travel agent to buy changeable business class tickets on Cathay and if I call them to change they charge me $39.55. That said, CX is usually pretty good about changes at the airport without much fuss, however that is on a refundable ticket which is the bread and butter for an airline. Hence they are perhaps more flexible on this fare.

The insurance claim and complete replacement of what makes it a computer add confidence though.

How many calories are in a 8 inch Chicken Parmigana Sub?
Grandpollo replied to kennedy12's topic in Restaurants and food
Why would anyone join a site with this site's focus and then post this? Just curious. If the sub is 8" long and 8" wide it will be a lot more than a cheap shitty one 8" long and barely an inch wide. -
I got bit by a dog on Wednesday afternoon, a house dog nevertheless but who knows how clean they are so I went to PMH off 2nd Road @ Soi 7 for a quick look and a few shots. The place is ass deep in Russians who seem to have a collective hobby of falling off of scooters (or moto taxis, Baht buses or watercraft) judging by the number of scraped and bandaged appendages and casts I saw. There are even two full time Russian to Thai interpreters near the entrance who seem to spend their time as go betweens with the fallen and the tour companies and the medicos (for the insurance, I assume as there was a tour company lady there with a sheaf of papers for all of these folks). They are all limping around, or in wheelchairs with new casts or bandaged like the mummy or covered in iodine for road rash. Bypassing all them to head towards reception, it's clear when you are a cash paying customer they move you along pretty fast and offer a few discounts along the way. I have insurance but it is easier just paying cash and claiming later. I was in and out the first time in an hour for a measly THB1,500 including THB650 of vaccine. Then after talking to my after hours doctor I went back for more treatment (immune globulin) and that only took another hour, as I had to get them to "reopen the case" for this additional injection (8 more, actually and they hurt like hell). That was a bit more money - so much that the nurse (a real cutie-pie) wanted me to approve the cost first. She said THB12,000 and I said OK, but at the end including service fees it fell to THB8,800. A nice cash discount. For 12,000 she should have come back long time. Looking around the ER it is well equipped, and they do well with English and operate a pretty efficient setup, so in a pinch it seems like a decent enough place to go. I did not go to Bangkok Pattaya due to the distance more than anything else, but I suspect it might have had a similar cost. Or more, I have heard. I have to get 4 more needles, one Tuesday at PMH, two in Bangkok at the travel disease clinic when I am there next week, and one at home in April. Bangkok only charges THB345 for what they charge THB650 for here, mind you. If there were 50% less Russians (or scooters) I would have had the place to myself.
