  1. WS with overhead signs removed. XS Gogo is getting a new sign. Annoys me to no end the selfish pricks that block the footpath with their parked vehicles.
  2. Soi 15 update. I saw on another forum a picture the section of pipe with the access tube "welded" to it in the ground, but with the weld having broken. I didn't think of it when I first saw them redneck engineering an access tube, but I can understand now how the idea might not have been such a good one. While fairly stiff the HDPE can flex when the fill is placed around and over the pipe. Add to that the weight of any machinery used to pack the fill down and it's not surprising the welded joint would separate. I believe the picture below is the section where the weld broke. Hope whatever repair they made holds up.
  3. ^^^ Good exercise hiking up the hill, or did you use Bolt?
  4. I only using booking sites (esky.com and google.com/travel/flights) to find flights in the price range I'm willing to pay. I then book directly with the airline. If things go pear shape on my flight, I'm in a much better position to get help on rebooking by dealing direct with the airline.
  5. Another shower? Have they finished the first one yet? Pic below from the 12th, and it's been like that for several weeks before that pic.
  6. @blue_flag, would you mind if I request the mods move this very interesting topic to the General Discussion about Pattaya section. A friend passes the time using Adobe Illustrator for designing shirts and I'd like to send him a link to this topic as an example of what the bleeding edge of photo shop programs looks like. Perhaps he and others might join the forum when they see topics like this being discussed. What is the module that produced these results called? When we talked I think you mentioned AI generated, is that correct?
  7. Just amazing how far the photo editing software has progressed over the years.
  8. Never in my wildest imagination of where I would end up during my retirement years did I imagine I'd be having fun slogging through the jungles of SEA. But here I am and mostly enjoying every minute of my retirement here.
  9. Pics from yesterday's hash run. To say it was a wet trail would be an understatement. So when the heavy rains came it didn't do much to dampen our spirits. Of course, Eskys full of beer helped too. 👣
  10. No time today as I'll be heading out shortly for a hash run in the jungle. Perhaps now that @blue_flag is back in Pattaya he can amble by Soi 15 and take a few pics.
  11. Yep. Don't want to be one of those riders with a mud stripe going up their back.
  12. With the rains returning we can look forward to a new crop of potholes. The infamous Soi Pothole And lessor known, Soi Casino
  13. A muddy update on Soi 15 after this morning's rain.
  14. Definitely wrote what I posted with tongue firmly planted in cheek. You do have to have your wits about you to be walking, or riding through an active construction zone. Not just the trucks and backhoes moving about that you have to watch out for, but also unstable ground around open pits that one could easily slip and fall into.
  15. Numerous signs that extended over WS have been removed. WS entrance from this morning. By chance I took this picture from the same spot one year ago. Unfortunately the Le Pub sign was a casualty of the clean up. And a thank you to @misteregg for his recent video that clued me into the sign removal.
  16. I've no doubt I'm probably alone in this sentiment, but as a mtn bike rider I really like what they've done to Soi 15. The entrance to the dirt course is a fairly easy pockmarked concrete surface. Progressing to a moderately challenging pot hole slalom. With a very challenging exit at the end. I like the forward thinking of the city planners, turning Pattaya into a world class mtn bike destination. 🚵‍♂️👍 Someone did a piss poor job on the water pipe repair. The maintenance access pipe is now in place. And the BM that guessed the small pipes glued to the side were steps was spot on.
  17. One danger I noticed with the new pavers on the north end of the beach footpath is if you're walking south it's not obvious the footpath has a drop off with two steps down. The cone on the left helps, but what they really should have done is use a solid line of colored pavers on the top edge. Think this guy will be waiting a long time to use the shower. The fancy "5G" display in use. Being the CC that I am, I'm thinking printing up and hanging a banner for different events would be just as effective, look just as good, and be a hell of a lot cheaper. But then the brown envelopes would be a lot lighter too. The footpath at the intersection of Klang is getting a makeover. On my ride south on Beach Rd the 5G sign in the previous picture was the only one working. And today's Soi 15 update
  18. And a few snaps of the Naklua Fish Market
  19. This morning's ride was to the new Naklua Fish Market park. IMHO they did a great job on the park.
  20. The elevated road collapse was some distance from then entrance to BKK (Anapana on the screen shot below), so wouldn't have affected traffic into and out of BKK.
  21. A few pics of other buildings in the area around Penthouse. Thought about making a "Guess Where Was I?" post with this pic, but then figured for many BM's it'd be too easy.
  22. Since my photo of the Penthouse sparked some reminiscing I went back this morning for some interior pictures. Even in the current state of disrepair I could see what an interesting venue it had been back in the day. I hope they do restore the place as I expect it would do well in this era of cooky cutter beer bars and GC's where few have a unique identity.
  23. What I thought was going to be a food market across from Nirun is starting to look more like an overflow area for prisoners.
