  1. The only charge to you is for the service to/from the golf course, as she pays her own green fees. Cart rental and refreshments are "up to you"..
  2. I'll give all some insight about this, as explained to me by Mod She has been doing this golfing as a side job for the last 6 months or so. Yes, it does require the candle to be burned at both ends. A majority of clients are FLB board members and she wanted to expand beyond that to establish a bigger base, if possible. The only way was a website, but one that could be done for about 500 Baht/month. She doesn't have the PC skills to do a website and setup an e-mail account in conjunction, so she was asking about getting someone to help. It couldn't be done from an internet cafe as
  3. I just checked it and all seems to be working at this time. I wanted to put more pictures, but had to deal with a space issue on a low budget, maybe I can add a little more with a slideshow . This was her idea to start it and marketing it will be up to her. I just helped her with the website, as it is a good idea and I always wanted to try my hand at one.
  4. This was an interesting challenge, as Mod wanted a website and it had to be within a certain budget. Now I had some idle time and gave it a try. Not knowing it would be a long/difficult task, but I learned from this, so it was worth the effort. http://www.golfwithmod.com/ Still have to play with it a little, but it seems to work. The rest is up to her to promote it and get the business.
  5. Would love to go, so I sent you an e-mail with my cell #, if tickets are still available
  6. I just took a rental on a place at View Talay 1, as I'm here for up to 60 days and wanted to lower my room cost to about 450 Baht/day or 13,000 Baht/month. Sure the room could always be better, but it's acceptable and the bed is nice, AC is very cold and I'm happy with the room. I'll do it again if I come on a 60 day vacation and View Talay is fine with me, since getting daily supplies are easy, since they have many places on the grounds.
  7. http://www.fairproperties.com/ I used this place, for a month rental and got a small condo for 13,000 baht/month. It's at View Talay Condo

    divorce

Marriage paperwork done in the USA, must be completed in the USA. I know this is not what you want to hear, but it's a fact. If she gets a lawyer, you will be paying for that also. Best to reach a compromise and it is wise to inform her of your intentions. If you surprise her, you'll be paying more than you ever thought. You also must go through a "cooling off" period, as many states just don't grant a divorce upon request. I had to wait 1 year when I divorced in the USA in 1996 She was a step ahead of you by getting married in the USA
  9. With that size of space, you could try "Thai Gloryhole", as 2 or 3 holes in the wall and a toilet is all you need.
  10. I'd set aside about 15%, as the costs seem to exceed original estimates. I'm learning that while building a store. It seems the Baht exchange rate has not helped from the original estimate. Then, you get the little problems, like AC, toilets and water. Windows weren't as issue, as I got a good deal on those. Translation problems are also a concern, if you think he understood, what you said
  11. http://www.tropicalberts.com/rooms.htm Many of the "vets", have dealt with the owner of this hotel {Bert}, as he use to run the Queen Vic. A man of his word and will make your trip enjoyable
  12. For economic reasons, as being in Thailand, takes me back in time for prices. This is very evident if you are way away from BKK/Pattaya and in the rural area of Thailand. But a Thai women, who stays in Thailand and is not westernized is a blessing..
  13. Gator, Check the reviews on this place, as it does look nice. But, I've stayed there 2 times in the past and when a door slams 3 floors below you and wakes you up, it's annoying. The location is good, food across the street was okay and the pool was fantastic. http://www.pattayapages.com/reviewpost/sho...t=116&cat=5 The pictures in the review are NOT the hotel..!
  14. If you figure 1 million Baht as a starting point, as we will need details as to where you will build. Let's say it's in the country {village}, then you need a well drilled, septic tank and a well pump with bladder to get water to the home. You will need a very good roof, as geting a cheap one will only cause you problems. Always nice to have AC, but many Thai women don't want it. Get damn good windows and they aren't as expensive as you think. Be reasonable, as you can cut corners on some things and on others you need to spend more to get quality. I'd be your own contractor, to hell w
  15. Enough....! Now, a Deluxe room at the Nana with 2 sofas is HUGE....1650 Baht Damn Majestic is SMALL
  16. I've been debating using this website to get the INTL DL http://www.international-license.com/index.php Any opinions...?
  17. I had a buddy try the Hell Club and he enjoyed it very much... To each his own..!
  18. Now I love a good investment, but futures can make a rich man poor & a poor man rich. Look at the 6 month to 1 year charts on these money-makers: MCD HCSG ARGN
  19. Damn hard choice, but I'll take the Lord by a nose
  20. I had no problems with this wireless card in Thailand, as I was at the house {near Cambodia} and in BKK. Coverage was good and I got decent download speed. The website is run by a British guy named Tim, he came to the Nana Hotel, set me up and showed me the ropes for 1500 Baht. My wireless card was bought in Kuwait and unlocked. I used DTAC and usually bought a 300 Baht card on a daily basis. It was overkill, but I have enough credit till March 2007.
  21. http://www.transworlddata.co.uk/edge/?Home I use a Sierra Wireless 775 card while in Thailand. I was setup in BKK and normally get 90 to 110 for download. It does go for about 1 Baht/min and I keep the card charged up on a daily basis. But the freedom to go anywhere and have access is a plus, but I usually just stay in the room. Just contact via the website and Tim will get back to you.
  22. I'd get a good old fashion eye exam done in your own country and then take the results to Thailand. Thailand uses that damn computerized deal and it just never seems to be the same. Your cost savings should still be about 40%
  23. A Deluxe Room @ 1690 Baht is a very good deal. Clean, 2 sofas, huge bed, desk for your laptop, 2 TV's and a nice bathroom. Say what you want, but the place is nearly full, a majority of the time. I'll take a Deluxe Room {1690} over a Suite {2400}
