Park lane have a shuttle 'golf-kart' now to take you to the beach. Though you'd need transport for convenience. I have a friend who's bought there and so I stay quite frequently. It seems a well run organisation. The condos are well appointed. She basically just moved straight in put up some curtains and made the bed and job done. Soi Watboon is also on the up.............a few bars and great value food 'hall'....... Most/all are sold but owners away it's quite peaceful.

i just read this and was a little put out. i think you need to re-read the submissions in this thread. they've all been helpful or at least well meant as far as i can see. i share responsibility for taking things slightly off-track......that often happens in a thread though and your question was still central to the discussion. i think you may have just misunderstood someone. point out the guilty person here.

i recall an old math's teacher who stood out in 3 respects..............1. for the creased and threadbare shabbiness of his never changing chalk dusted suit.......... 2. for the habit of removing his shoes while he stalked us from the back of the room ready to pounce on any real or perceived furtiveness ........ ....and 3. that on occasions he would feed the pigeons that gathered on the window ledge with fruit-gums.....which was entertaining, if just in it's futility...a wanton waste of fruit-gums in our opinion. the 'fruit-gum-kid' as he was known, taught me that there were 3 types of 'average'..... mean,median and mode. so i agree 'most', which might also be termed, 'mode average' being applied to Thais was my fault. someone above said that 'most Thais' would laugh at anyone who said they couldn't live on 75,000 bt a month. i agreed with that but felt the ops extra expense,an expense that most,average Thais wouldn't need to budget for would be regular pfp. i discover i'm wrong in this............. and that the logical conclusion is that 'most average Thais' can feed,shelter themselves and cater for all necessary living expenses......petrol, repairs, comdoms etc ....and......'and' go out to booze in bars and pick up a short time/long time lady of the night at the same cost as a falang and on as regular basis as a falang would need to budget for. and that they can do all this for such a small sum that it makes a falang struggling to do so on 75,000 bt a month look laughable.. as i say that's a revelation. i think the fruit-gum-kid would have felt the same and called for a review of the 'law of averages'

.......... i honestly wasn't aware..... but a number of distinguished posters on here seem to be in complete agreement..... that 'average Thais' are paying pfp prices equal to, or greater than, falangs .............. i'd wrongly thought until now you see, that 'average Thais'........ taxi drivers,postmen and the like are mostly getting their 'legs over' on a regular basis buck-shee and often at our expense......... indeed that the 'pattaya-thai-budget' and the 'pattaya-falang-budget' differed fundamentally in this respect. i'd thought that where 'average Thais' 'were' actually paying for sex...... that in this case, in Thai only/karaoke bars the short time prices etc were less than we would find apply in walking st for example.. i'd realised i'd based this assumption on no more than what i believed to be the 'average Thais' average monthly income. and given that, that it would be impossible on this amount to budget for 3 or 4 long/short times per week. i'd thought until now that, for example in the bkk soapies, falangs paid a surcharge that is not applicable to Thais or indeed other Asians. i am aware that there are Thais with incomes that dwarf mine and can afford to frequent very exclusive thai only pfp venues beyond my pocket. but as i say, it was news to me that average Thais and average falangs are penciling in roughly equal amounts in 'the pursuit of pussy column.' of their monthly ledgers. quite a revelation..........

thais would also laugh if they were asked to pay a bar fine and long time rates at the falang rate just to get a shag....this is a big cost that it's not necessary for them to consider. but will be a 'necessity' for the op.

it's amazing to us what thais don't know.................it's amazing to thais what we don't know. if i asked most non-americans, or even i suspect, some americans what 'Pennsylvania' actually means or Philadelphia for that matter they wouldn't necessarily know. i agree with joe on this one. knowledge doesn't come close to equalling intelligence. and having access to all knowledge doesn't mean we have all the answers it's possible that thais relative lack of 'world knowlege' is the reason why they seem so happy. that and the 20,000 baht they get a month from half a dozen clever falangs.
