New Arrivals At Free Cats 4 You In Pattaya!
nkped replied to finnellypaul's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If you have ever seen a cat move in and then effectively convey the message "I'm here, feed me." Just saying. -
It was solely a matter of updating the information about the passport in the CBP GOES online system. After you sign on and acknowledge you are in a U.S. government sytem, you get a screen with your personal information. One of the options on the left side is Update Documents. Used that to show the new passport # and expiration date. I would not describe it as renewing the Global Entry status.

A couple of small improvements to how Global Entry is implemented, at least at the Seattle-Tacoma airport: After you get the receipt from the kiosk, there is no check by a CBP officer until you get to exit control when you are leaving the Customs area. Before, there was an officer looking to see that you had one before you left the area of the booths; While there was only one exit control officer, there were now separate feeder lines with Global Entry having its own lane. As it took a while to get my bags, this did save me a few minutes getting through as there was some back up in the gene

I tried the cheeseburger last night and was very happy with it. I don't know what the seasoning in the meat was, but it was quite tasty. The burger was drier than many but not problem. I had the coleslaw as the side, which was excellent as well. It was a very good meal.

A young 20 something couple gets on the baht bus at the school on 2nd road at about 9pm. Only a guess but they may have been from east of the Elbe. She sits a few spots in, he stands on the step. Another farang, probably in his 40s or 20 years older than the couple (not me, that would be 40 years older) gets on and sits next to the girl bumping her butt which was more or less unavoidable and says one or two words with a smile. This gets a fairly hard poke on the arm from boyfriend and when 40 something expresses mild surprise, boyfriend flips him off. 40 something decides to maintain unti

Neither is 'merican. Plenty of time driving Toyota pickups, none of which was rigged as a songthaew. Never drove a samlar either.

Yesterday, I was on a baht bus with 3 other people when the driver stops for some couples from the subcontinent who appeared to be looking for transportation. Instead of getting on, one of the men goes to the driver's window and starts talking. No idea whether he was asking the fare, trying to hire an occupied baht bus as taxi or was trying to negotiate the tuk tuk fare. He left unhappy and his group did not get on. The driver actually waited longer than I would have for an exchange which wasn't going anyplace.

I'll agree as to the meaningless part. If you're going to abbreviate, wouldn't it be a'merican (no space) for an American?

Could you repeat your suggestion in English.

In the 1960s, B-52 bombers carried two Hound Dog cruise missiles on wing mounted pylons. The Hound Dogs could function as additional engines for the 8-engined Buff. The pilot of a B-52 that was so equipped advised civilian air traffic that he had three engines out. Quite alarmed, the controller asks whether the pilot wants to declare an emergency. The Buff pilot responds "Negative, we still have seven turning (operating).". At this point, the controller asks "What the fuck are you flying?"

The Jomtien Pig and Whistle serves a quite good ham steak so the general concept is known. For some bizarre reason, it's on the menu as gammon steak.

The week after New Years, you will wait a while to get on one in the area of the Hannuman statue and that's with many going by full to the point of dragging rear bumpers.

NEW COMPANY HUA HIN SEA DISCOVERY
nkped replied to Huahinseadiscovery's topic in Transport in Thailand
15 meters long, 30-35 passengers and cruises at 50kph. I'm no expert, but am a bit dubious I want to go open water with them. -
You've got to get through/around the city of Manila to get from NAIA to Clark/Angeles City.
-
That MAY be due to concerns about money laundering/hiding assets. On the other hand, that money is tracked going into and out of your bank account.

Had a root canal done at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya by Dr Pattamaporn Tosukhumvong. I was quite impressed. It was an upper tooth so some of the novacaine had to go into the inside of the jaw where there isn't much soft flesh but even that wasn't that bad. No pain during the procedure and no pain after the novacaine wore off.

Interesting thought as the main reason many Russians go to Pattaya is to ride baht buses between Jomtoen and Naklua. They would just offer crazy money to extend the trip and the system would break down.

day visa runs Pattaya to whereever?
nkped replied to fttrading09's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If you are getting 30 days upon arrival, it is almost certainly admission without a visa. Don't believe there are any extensions available. Some official sources say you are limited to 90 days in Thailand in a 6 month period via admissions without visa; no idea as to the actual practice. -
Thai Airways crash Bangkok Airport 8th Sept
nkped replied to Brown1950's topic in Airline Discussion
The linked article in #20 is from a aviation trade publication. The comments suggest the practice is widespread but hardly universal. Apparently Southwest Airlines did it at least once which would be dumber than dirt as their paint scheme is extreme distinctive. -
Today, came out of Central Festival on the Beach Road side. I walked around a parked baht bus because no one was on it. After a few seconds, the driver calls out "tuk tuk, 10 baht.". It is low season.
-
It's working fine at 10 baht right now. In January, you will quickly see that a fleet of pickups just is not adequate as a mass transit system anymore. That's due to the number of people wanting to get around and not the fare.

Thanks, also lots of comments to the article about painting over the logo. -
Or at least get a pained look and probably think you are being intentionally cruel if you use cardinal directions to tell them how to get to a destination.

Maybe but wonder how they ended up in the grass if it was a collapsed nose gear.
