Flights to Start Between U Tapao and Siem Reap
nkped replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Airline Discussion
If the Siem Reap service actually comes to pass, it will be interesting to see any reports on how long it takes to clear immigration in-bound. There is signage in that rather small terminal for international arrivals which I gather has been charters in the past. Given the size of the building, it would be hard to think they could have more than 3 or 4 lanes. -
And coming out of my mouth it seems Venti & Grande sound the same to the sweet young things taking my order--and that's in the U.S.

In the Seattle area, where I'm at now, Starbucks is the local coffee company. As to D's question, in the U.S., I suspect it is being first, at least as a franchise operation, marketing, which is closely related, and atmosphere. Last trip (November), saw a couple of katoeys working at Starbucks in Pattaya.

Just remove the staple after you leave. The departure card could be part of the proof that you are legally in the country. If that issue.ever actually arises it's a lot easier to look at the departure card than to go through all of the stamps. Also simplifies accounting for your departure when you leave.

Even if you rely on the ATM card for your operating expenses, you're likely to have more cash on hand than you will possibly use on a particular outing. Losing 10k baht if my pocket is picked won't ruin me, but I prefer to be prudent so it comes down to alternatives to walking around with it. I happen to think

I've done the reverse, Thai wife in AC. If the GF is Filipina/Malay extraction, she is going to be frustrated with everyone assuming she speaks Thai.

Be careful out there.

I know that I may be one night away from agreeing with you about the respective merits of in room versus front desk safes. I no longer believe that staying at a 5-star establishment is any guarantee against irregularities as to security. The last time I had a problem with my credit card info being misappropriated, it was my work credit card so I had used it only one place in six months. The employer would whack me seriously if I used it for personal purposes. The place I had used it was a Hilton hotel in Portland, Oregon. Fortunately, the bank caught it in short order.

But serious question D, how do you manage the curbs and other obstacles? Don't expect to need to use one myself anytime soon but once upon a time I was also sure I would never go bald and would be able to get a diamond cutter at will.

This is one of those topics that has been done to death more than once. As D points out, what's your alternative? Some swear by lock boxes at the front desk, but I avoid hotels that use them if I possibly can. And if you see someone walking down the hall with a potato, you're in real trouble.

If there are other BMs who would have the need to use one, I imagine they would like a bit more information on how you do navigating street curbs and other obstacles that are not ADA compliant.

Last time I talked to a mamasan was in Peppermint at their old location. She was young and cute and I considered asking if she went BF.

Anyone know if Tony's Jomtien location is still open? If it is reflected on Tony's web site, it is extremely well hidden.

I'm sceptical. Still given that Bangkok Air operates out of Utapao already, it would be interesting.

This seems to be the source http://www.airhanuman.com/.

Thinking that having a jacuzzi is a big selling point is not a good sign.

I used http://www.seatguru.com/ to identify which aisle seat did not have the box on Korean Air 777s--a great resource.

Sabai Lodge v Residence Gardens - which is better?
nkped replied to goldeni's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Never stayed at the Sabai Lodge so won't comment on the accomodations. Getting back to the Residence Garden is as easy as walking to the school and getting on the baht bus. -
Na, she wouldn't do that. A new Toyota Hilux on the other hand.

Plausible for those of us in the older cohort. At a much earlier point in life, the most intense orgasms were the ones that were next to being a dry fire because of multiple goes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I understand the significance of the difference between wet and dry. Now if I can just figure out how to make this understood over the phone.

Periodically talk to the ex who lives out in the far reaches of Korat province. We've been ex for a LONG time (I know, why is it of concern to me ), but anyway... She describes what sounds like macular degeneration--black spot in the middle of her vision in the right eye--she is old enough. Says she has been to see an eye doctor in Korat who has raised the possibility of an operation that could cost around 40,000 baht. Her ability to understand things medical is pretty good but her English vocabulary to convey what she has been told is another thing so I don't know what she would be talking about in the way of an operation. Checking the internet, options for treatment of macular degeneration that could loosely be described as surgical seem to be pretty limited. While I don't rule out anything, I don't think it's a sick water buffalo story, although away from Bangkok, I wonder if it might be the eye doctor's water buffalo. I will be in Pattaya for an extended period at the beginning of the year so I'm leaning toward telling her to come to town and taking her to an eye doc at PIH or Bangkok Pattaya. Thoughts?

Perhaps he posted his Soi 6 review on a computer maintenance forum.

"Walking Street" Soon To be a MEMORY ?
nkped replied to dentdude's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Sometime when you are dining at the Pattaya Beer Garden, cast your eyes to the north and look at the high rises. Never mind who stays there and why, just recognize there is a market that supported that construction. Do you think that if the "smart money" decides there is enough of a market to justify building a lot more high rise, high rent properties on south Pattaya beach, that Walking Street will not be knocked down in a big hurry?
