my buddy and his tilac stayed there, actually tilac recommended because close to her room. Nice, new guest friendly relitivly cheap, just that it's half a block east of soi buckow so you are a little out of the way unless your familair with the baht bus routes of soi bukow. easy enough if your not to fucked up. my buddy got on the wrong one and ended up some where out on 3rd road!! usally ok heading out but getting back you need to pay attention, just cann't jump on any baht bus like beach/second road.

I see were they are going to make all "foringers" were "white helmets" so they can be easily IDed. don't know if it's just for driver or passanger also. great way to racial profile, I think each nationality should have their own colores or maybe just slap a large sticker with your countries flag on it, that's it, a white helmet with flag, and the thai wear no helmets

stayed in old wing in OCT for 750bt. stopped in march, just new wing availble at 1200bt. went to baybreese then moved to Flipper Hotel, Soi 7, 750bt. Flipper, better ac and room Lek better location, pool and "buffet" if your looking for cheap food. Concurr with Soi 13 being the best loction, I like the AA Residentcy but with the construction will be stay "away" from Soi13 for the next year or so. was offered the jr. suite for 1k, normally 1400 but declined. staying anywhere in LOS is better than going to work!!!

Was able to use my FF miles on NWA from MSP-BKK for Loy Kratong. Was 60,000 miles and got NW#19-27,28-20, as much as I bitch about Northwest Airlines, I have always been able to use my FF miles for eighter free flight and or cash and miles. Being an "elite" with pre boarding privlages and priority seat selection 90days in advance I have always been able to get emergency row seating and have receveied upgrades to business and first-class on occation, even if it is with the old fat ornery bitches that are suppose to be stewartess that get the msp-nrt legs because of seinortiy. the food isn't

if you can get on the plane right now, go. the girls, food and entertainment stay relitivly consistant, just go when ever you can or can get the best airfare

just stayed 12 nights in the hotel on soi 7 (1-11apr05) 750bt per night standard room, shower no tub, good aircon w/room key. very proffestional about guest, treat them with respect and smile but require id to be left with securty guard how sits out side and records room number. although i never got a call to see if everything ok when tg picks up id. all in all a good value, never tryed the lodge but would recommed the hotel for a budget stay.

everybody diffrentt, in OCT i was staying at dynesty and so was LBJ. noise didn't bother him in fact he said he hardly noticed it. me i thaought i was back in a combat zone in a fire fight, had to move, just bad nerves i guess, but all in all there is definatly construction and noise on soi13 ands will be for some time. like people smokinf in a bar, it bothers some, othwers it don't and some like it

i had breakfeast at the Lek this morning and had to leave because of the "jack hammering". this was at 9am, don't know how early they start. if you have a room on the beach road side you might be alright. good luck, personaly i moved to the flipper on soi7, think soi13 maybe a problem for the next year if the early noise is a bother to you.

every time diffrent i just checked out of baybreese because maid and i had it out compained to front desk, couldn't get manager they really didn't care so i moved, tougher for them to find a maid at 300bt a week i suppose. then the ladyboy at the desk try to add on a day and not give reciect, he/she new i just wanted to get out of there and figured to pocket a nights rent for himself, cause when i insited on reciet it was made out correctly and got the oh so sorry i miss count!!!! even when to get new reciect book to make out "seperate" reciet for me.

just did my walk-about and the Dynesty Inn has went upto 1200bt from 990 in Oct 04 when i last stayed there so i payed the 350bt to ride the van instead of prepaying for two nights at DI Patttaya. went over to AA residency and the raided price from 700bt in oct to 800bt but no standard rooms available for a couple days, would give me the Jr suite for 1k instead of regular 1200bt price. went to Lek, no stadard rooms at 750bt "for a couple days" just 1200bt rooms in new section. so i'm staying at Bay Breese for 600bt a night, think i could of got cheaper if prepayed for a week but am going to

"cheap charlie" is the LOS venacular and i also am a cheap charlie but that is not why, i enjoy the experiance. i'll pre-select a half dozen hotels to check on and spend a morning going to the hotels. checking availablity looking at there available rooms and querrying prices. as i always arrive in bkk late friday night/saturday morning i stay in bangers the weekend and want the flexablity, may head to pty on sun or monday. i'll head over to Dynesty Inn (bkk) and pay for 2 nights at DI soi13 (pty) and caught the 11:00 van they have to pty(free trans), then spend a few hours the next morning

looking at 27mar-11apr, but only as a walk-in haven't and won't make reservations till i get there
