First time to Pattaya, if Areca can arrange a car have them do it. When your on the plane walk thru economy section and ask if anyone is going to Pattaya and wants to share a ride. Areca is a good place to stay.

On the low end check out www.skytoppattaya.com It's clean, good location one block from Beach Road and two minutes from soi 6. It has AC,TV,fridge. Try and book room 101 as it's large. Pete the owner should be more then willing to cut prices for a long term stay.

I fly UA from Philly and I leave at 9:45AM and I start off with a good nights sleep under my belt and I like the late arrival as well for the short wait times thru immigration and no traffic to Pattaya. I like the 7AM take off as I stay awake the night before and party till 2AM.

You can book tickets up to one year return. Just cost more. Tell the reservation agent up front what you need.

I try and usually successful in getting exit row window. I lean up against the wall and sleep. If you can fly one airline as they try and accommodate their regular customer.

Given that EVA are putting all new aircraft on the London route in a couple of months (and their miles don't expire quicker than you can accumulate them), the choice between Thai and EVA should really be a no-brainer. Let's not forget Thai's new policy, no frequent flyer miles for the cheapest seats. I agree it's a no brainer.

Buy a language program and make copies of Thai children programs and news. They speak correct Thai and they speak on a level that's easy to learn. Take the time to learn how to read Thai. These strategies were told to me by a fellow boardie that's teaches English in Korea.

Prices tend to drop after 15 September. With the price of jet fuel as high as it is I don't think we will see the same prices as earlier this year. I could fly from PHL-BKK for $695 on UA.

Sabai Inn is a good pace to stay. Excellent location. Don't eat off the road side food carts. Here are a few good places to eat where you should be OK, Pig & Whistle soi 7, Tequila Reef soi 7, Queen Victoria Inn, soi 6, Greg's kitchen, 2nd Road near soi6. Except for Greg's all the restaurants are between Beach Rd and 2nd Rd. Don't drink tap water or use to brush your teeth. I would suggest bottled mineral water. Pace yourself. This a great party town.

duke, Take your kid to the Pattaya Park Hotel in Jomtiem. They have a good water park with slide, big pool. Hotel is on the beach. Your kid will love it.

When a guy asks for a cheap hotel, I recommend Sky-Top if he's looking for a more expensive place I will recommend other hotels including the Sabai Inn because it's good value for the money. You may have noticed I don't put down other guys recommendations especially with regards to cheap hotels as we need to expand our options. Plus Sky-Top has only 8 rooms I don't want it to be so popular that I won't be able to get a room there. All in all your the problem, you see a negative you want to blow it out of proportion and run with it. You diminish yourself with your words and attitude. It's not my words that do it. It's all on you.

Beach Road is easy. Any hotel along the route will suit your needs. Use the lobby toilet. Look at your map and figure alternate routes pointing toward 3rd Road. Walk each of the routes and stop in likely places. Seems to me hotels would have the cleanest toilets. When you get this sorted out write a field report. I fore one would like to know where clean toilets are located. Cause when a mans gotta go, he's gotta go.

Yes they can book transportation from BKK to Pattaya. It's up to you if they ask for ID. I always have the hotel take her ID as it's for your protection.

When I stay at Sky-Top and I will be there from 14 October till..... When I shower I always leave the door open when I finish. Floor dries quickly.
