Father in Bangkok hospital Pattaya
Montydog replied to Peloloco's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
May help someone in the future! All those assholes riding CBRs in shorts and sandals come from somewhere -
Mates got a Taiwanese GF (living in England) all he says about his trips is that once he becomes a “tourist” and is not staying with the family all costs go crazy hotels food etc. Think Hong Kong for price point. Very expensive.

Father in Bangkok hospital Pattaya
Montydog replied to Peloloco's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Hope your father is OK in the long term. But another reason NOT to hire motorcycles in Thailand you will not be covered by your travel insurance and most people who rent them have little or no road sense. And the Thais on the road well most have never had a driving lesson let alone taken a test so if your stupid enough to take the risk make sure you have the cover, Shame you father didn’t do the paperwork before leaving you and your family with this mess to sort out. -
This is the bit from Stickman a week or two ago “The homeless farang whose photo appeared in this column a month or two back and who has been a regular fixture on Sukhumvit is still homeless and looks worse for wear. It turns out his name is Michael, and he is indeed a German national who I am informed was once a sales rep for the manufacturer of two of Germany's finest products, Erdinger and Warsteiner. Wearing the very same clothes I first photographed him in way back in the middle of March, he is as filthy as ever. Until earlier this week, if you happened to be anywhere near Cowboy or Nana you may have spotted him, perhaps sitting outside a convenience store drinking a hot coffee, or perhaps curled up next to some of the homeless Thais for whom Sukhumvit is home. But you won't see him there now. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw him this week on Soi LK Metro, down in Pattaya! He was in a long conversation with himself, in English, holding his pants up with one hand, as appears to be his trademark. He was pointing at various people with his free hand at which point he saw the camera pointing right at him....and came bounding towards me. Time to do the Johnny bolt! Seeing a grin on his face, I decided to stick around and he wasn't hostile at all. He started telling me about the history of Kassikornbank and how it was once called Thai Farmers Bank. He then asked me, in English with a heavy German accent, if he thought they sold coffee inside. Ever the devil, I told him that the only way to know was to go inside and ask the staff....which he did. I didn't wait to see what happened and left him to his new friends in green uniforms. But the big question is, just how did he manage to make it from Bangkok to Pattaya? This guy really is in a bad state and if anyone from the German embassy is reading, he needs your help!” Full article here: http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/StickmanBangkokWeeklyColumn2011/Soi-LK-Metro-Pattaya.htm I’m just glad I didn’t have to sit next to him on the bus.

I was there when the Union Jack was raised at government house in Port Stanley (Falkland Islands 1982) "And I was 'round when Jesus Christ Had his moment of doubt and pain Made damn sure that Pilate Washed his hands and sealed his fate I stuck around St. Petersburg When I saw it was a time for a change Killed the Czar and his ministers Anastasia screamed in vain I rode a tank Held a general's rank When the Blitzkrieg raged And the bodies stank I watched with glee While your kings and queens Fought for ten decades For the gods they made I shouted out, "Who killed the Kennedy's?" When after all It was you and me And I laid traps for troubadours Who get killed before they reached Bombay !

Metro Apartments - Updated Review
Montydog replied to kuranda_bagman's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
As a frequent guest at the Metro (and room 3) I can confirm all the OP’s post, bloody good place to stay and drink. -
Toothache, sore throat, headache all depends. There is some sort of balm on the band aid they swear by

That’s like crashing a party in your local metal hospital. Once and only once

Personally I have no beef with Dave, never stayed at his place but have eaten there and used the book shop. But if I was him I would ask this “Logan” to stop as he is in danger of creating a BigD Skyslops situation.
-
Unfortunately that’s already happened thanks to that fuckin’ clown and his company

As always :clap2
