  1. I'm at a complete loss as to why anyone pattaya bound would use this service to save 15 minutes in a taxi. The addition of Yangon stop for an hour where likely you'll have to sit on the aircraft (I was on a different carrier) plus single aisle 319 aircraft puts the end to the route in my opinion eventually
  2. Sterling/Baht finished Friday the highest it was all week. If Sterling/Dollar stays relatively calm early Monday taking into account time difference should see 43.25 at TT's give or take couple satang either way when they reopen (they like most exchanges mark it down for weekends) The exchange that beats TT each time is that Red Top currency exchange if you're walking down Soi 8 its on your left around 50 metres down. Unless you're changing a bundle though might as well use the TTs as plenty about
  3. May be of interest to some. Came into my inbox few days ago but forgot all about it https://www.businesstraveller.com/business-travel/2018/06/11/emirates-mulls-hand-baggage-only-fares/
  4. Flown them just the once but if pricing was good no reason why I wouldnt again
  5. I have to say I think these penalties on the airlines are incredibly harsh. We all know that cancellations happen for aircraft going tech after all we dont want to fly on a sub standard aircraft. Its costing the airline minimum of £200,000 for the disruption across its network (and then some) they put us up in hotels fed and watered and then rules say we can claim up to 600 Euro as well..... I'll happily take it like everyone else but its well harsh 300 people at 600 euro each adds 180,000 Euro to the costs.
  6. Yes am not arguing that point. Have just had a look at Emirates confirmed order book going forward and its huge. Makes you wonder if some will ever fly in Emirates colours or just be leased out https://www.emirates.com/media-centre/emirates-orders-36-a380s-worth-us-16-billion#
  7. Wonder what the real cost of everything associated with an A380 being in storage from loss of revenue to original cost etc etc £1 million a day or more ??
  8. So bad they are leasing 3 Qatar aircraft this summer to cover the issues https://www.businesstraveller.com/business-travel/2018/05/09/british-airways-latest-to-be-hit-by-b787-dreamliner-engine-problems/?utm_source=Business+Traveller+International+Newsletter&utm_campaign=aeb88cf76f-Your_weekly_business_travel_brief+May+10+18&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0f9ce7ba66-aeb88cf76f-162953081 No idea why thread has shown twice...apologies
  9. If you have originally booked 2 people then certainly no issue
  10. Yes you got PM now it went through ok
  11. I went for the first option of search members and its come up you dont have permission for that ?? Will try 2nd option if that doesnt work will post here again
  12. Absolutely zero agenda but hovering over their names (or any names) doesnt do anything ?? If someone could come back would be grateful, if not will just post the minor issue here Thanks
  13. Strangely enough when I was on one of Qatars 777's 2-3 years ago that was already in 3-4-3 it was genuinely fine. I had an aisle in the middle section and cant say it was any different to the norm. Havent flown Emirates or Etihad for years but I understand they are the two to avoid in the 777
  14. Wow cheaper than that with very quick airtime and connections £371 random first date I put in 6th june for 3 weeks In order of sectors 787 777 380 787 Edited....brought back outbound till 30th May again 3 weeks identical price £371 Same equipment
  15. Christ thats cost them another bundle !! Wonder what on earth they were doing at UTP
  16. They do but the curfew completely kicks in a 11pm (unless thats changed).....after 10.30 they used to in the past to ask for dispensation to go but heavily fined for that as well. That may have changed I acknowledge
  17. Course we were forgetting the Euro 500 compensation per passenger as well
  18. Bare minimum 200k not only parking at Heathrow for what was 20 hours full over nighting in hotels for that nights flight passengers, costs for people missing ongoing connections from the inbound BR67 and additional hotels for those missing last trains and coaches as well (Ive had that on another occasion) and we havent even started on the disruption on ongoing flights for having a 777 completely out of position. 200k bare minimum
  19. Couldnt be turned around in time to beat Heathrows departures curfew back out that evening. Happened to me on Eva before but I was lucky and got put on Thai that same evening because I was gold on Eva at the time back in 2004 if I recall correctly This is why they dont like pissing around waiting at Bangkok on the outbound sector. That would have cost the airline all up around £200,000 that night for sure
  20. Reading of others that have and regretted it not surprisingly. If 15 minutes extra in pattaya is important then fair enough lol Am surmising though if you're going south rather than north it might be worth it obviously cutting out the Suvarn taxi to wherever you're going but to pattaya no way
  21. We have to pretty desperate to view cams whilst home hankering after a return. Spend your time instead earning money to facilitate that return quicker
  22. Maybe but there are plenty of other carriers avoiding the ME in KLM Air France Air china Cathay Malaysian to name just a few. I reckon its a great move on Thais part
  23. People will always pay a premium for a non stop flight though. At heathrow they have a lot more competition then just the ME3 or 5 if you include Gulf and Oman
